CHMCL STR8JCKT Release New Single + Lyric Video ‘Anaesthesia’

Outlaw Industrial Rockers CHMCL STR8JCKT return with their first new album since 2021’s Drk Prgrssn, and with it, a portal into a whole new dimension of the band’s traditional intrigue – a wild acceleration, says frontman/vocalist Kevin Snell, of “our love of hard rock and industrial music with a touch of Western flavor.”

“IV-Rx continues our evolution of Outlaw Industrial Rock. It’s heavier and darker, yet melodic, inspired by bands like Killing Joke and Ministry” – and that’s no surprise.

Joining Snell and bandmate Mike C, guitarist/keyboard whizz John Bechdel – both a current member of Ministry, and a former Killing Joke-r  – steps out from behind the production desk (he oversaw Chmcl Str8jckt’s last two albums, 2019’s Wrtchd Thngs and 2021’s Drk Prgrssn) to add his own sonic sorceries to the maelstrom.

And the album gets off to a startling start as well, previewed today by the band’s nightmare-lashed new video, “Anaesthesia.”

“It’s both the first single and the album opener because it sets the tone for what is to come,” affirms Snell.  “It’s dark and heavy with a chunky metal guitar riff and a Gary Numan inspired synth line. It has the feel of an anthem!”  In fact, the entire album is stuffed full with pulsing synthesizers, coruscating riffery, the darkest themes and the mightiest of crowd-crunching hooks.

Formed in 2017 by newly re-united childhood friends C and Snell, Chmcl Str8jckt started life as a tribute to the legendary Wax Trax sound they so loved during their teen years of  the late 80’s/early 90’s – fused, among other things, with the very young Snell’s love of Black Sabbath.

“When I was eight or so, I heard ‘Electric Funeral’ for the first time. It changed my life! I was scared…..excited….and completely hooked. If we could have that effect…even just a little on someone… our mission is accomplished.”

Releasing their self-titled debut album within months of forming, Chmcl Str8Jckt quickly caught John Bechdel’s ear and, under his guidance, the duo moved swiftly from emulating bands like RevCo and KMFDM on their debut, to truly developing the sound of Outlaw Industrial Rock – old school industrial meets the new wave of technology to create a whole new, and supremely sinister primal scream. Or, as Snell puts it, “the post-apocalyptic cowboy.”

“I love westerns. I read a lot about Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and such.” He singles out Wrtchd Thngs’ “Ode To Peckinpah” as a musical starting point for the fusion, “a tribute to the quite mad western film maker! Mike added a great western guitar riff to my keyboards and it just sets the mood perfectly.”

It’s a contagious vibe, too.  “Even our tracks that are completely not western sounding have an apocalyptic vibe to them.”

Picture, he says, “a badass in a duster walking down a bombed out city street.”

IV-Rx is Chmcl Str8jckt’s third Cleopatra release, the latest highlight in a relationship that confirms both the band’s status in the modern industrial firmament, and Cleopatra’s long, long-standing role at the forefront of the original industrial revolution – the label has championed the genre almost since its inception in the early 1990s, and overseen many of its most influential convolutions.

Outlaw Industrial Rock, however, is one of the most thrilling of them all.  So take the anaesthesia now… and the IV-Rx won’t be too far away.

PREYRS, a visceral new force in alternative rock and metal, reveal their second ever single, ‘Zeros, Ones & Lies’, out now via Pelagic Records.

Stream: https://orcd.co/preyrs

PREYRS is the brainchild of Belfast rock artist Amy Montgomery and drummer/producer Michael Mormecha. Fusing raw alternative rock energy with the weight of metal, the quartet’s music is an electrifying clash of aggression and euphoria, darkness and uplift, chaos and control. Elements of artists as disparate as Nine Inch Nails, Chelsea Wolfe, Sonic Youth, and Julie Christmas combine to delirious and heady effect.

New single, the high-octane ‘Zeros, Ones & Lies’, wrestles with the spiritual toll of being fed constant footage of atrocity and catastrophe by a media that accepts no responsibility for their part in the global race to the bottom. The track bursts into furious life with urgent, double-time drums met by guitars distorted to the brink of destruction before the song all but caves in on itself as Amy quietly asks of us “Can you feel it? / like a river / it flows so silently / it flows so violently”.

Busking on the streets of Belfast from the age of 15, Amy Montgomery met multi-instrumentalist Michael Mormecha a few years later and they’ve been working together ever since. Both songwriters in their own right, Michael fronted renowned Irish post-hardcore outfit Mojo Fury and worked as a producer for artists including The Bonnevilles, Mojo Fury and Joshua Burnside. They’re joined as PREYRS by longtime guitarist Nolan Donelly and new bass player Ciarán McGreevy.

Known for electrifying live performances, PREYRS made their UK festival debut at Bloodstock Open Air this August, as well as appearing at Stendhal Festival in Ireland. Nominated as ‘Best Live Act’ and ‘Best Artist’ at the Northern Ireland Music Prize, Amy’s undeniably fierce and captivating frontperson energy has been her secret weapon often described as ‘otherworldly’ or ‘a force of nature’. For those seeking the epic, the healing, the aggressive and the unrelenting pulse of alternative rock and metal, PREYRS is it.

PREYRS will be supporting punk legends New Model Army across Europe this winter.

NAILED TO OBSCURITY Celebrate Release of New Album “Generation Of The Void” with ‘Glass Bleeding’ Video

NAILED TO OBSCURITY have released a video for ‘Glass Beeding‘, the latest single from their fifth studio album, Generation Of The Void, which is out today via Nuclear Blast Records! In celebration of the album’s release day, an atmospheric music video is being released alongside the single. Scroll down to check it out.

Dynamic album opening track ‘Glass Bleeding‘ offers a preview of the stylistic variety that Nailed To Obscurity have perfected with Generation Of The Void, shifting with ease between hard-hitting death metal passages, ethereal clean parts and anthemic sing-alongs.

With Generation Of The Void, NAILED TO OBSCURITY have crafted their most mature and expansive album to date. The album reflects the turmoil of the post-pandemic era, the shadows of war in Europe, and the relentless changes affecting all of humanity. Beyond its political and social commentary, the album also dives deep into personal struggles, confronting themes of dark emotions, depression, and fear. Every note, every lyric carries the weight of uncertainty and disillusionment, while no one knows what one will find within the void or beyond.

NAILED TO OBSCURITY commented:
“We are beyond excited that our new album Generation Of The Void is finally out today. It feels amazing to share not only the singles you’ve already heard, but also all the other songs that complete the journey. We can’t wait for you to dive into the full record and discover everything we’ve been working on.

Alongside the album, we’re thrilled to unveil the brand-new video for ‘Glass Bleeding’. We chose this track to open the record because it perfectly introduces what’s to come – moving from mellow, moody atmospheres into crushingly heavy riffs and blast beats. It sets the tone for the entire album and paves the way for everything that follows.

EVILCULT Release New Video for ‘Midnight Ritual’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 10, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: EVILCULT. Leave a comment

The ancient, demonic rites of South American metal are resurrected as EVILCULT prepares to unleash their third full-length album, Triumph of Evil, on September 19th via Awakening Records. Forged in the fires of chaos and blasphemy, this new offering is a merciless assault on Christian morality and a hell-forged tribute to the primitive, raw energy of ’80s underground metal.

Order the album here: https://awakeningrecordscn.bandcamp.com/album/triumph-of-evil

Since their formation in 2016, the Brazilian horde – composed of vocalist/guitarist Lucas From Hell, bassist Speed Lobo-Guará, drummer Filipe Stress, and guitarist Hell Bordini – has clawed its way to the forefront of the modern black-speed-thrash scene. Their previous blasphemous tomes, At the Darkest Night (2020) and The Devil is Always Looking for Souls (2023), established them as keepers of a sacred, unholy flame. On Triumph of Evil, they wield it like a burning crucifix, searing the very foundations of convention.

The album’s sound is a venomous amalgam of Teutonic thrash and first-wave black metal, heavily indebted to the savage legends who first dared to mix speed with satanic rage. Lucas From Hell’s vocals rip through the chaos with a feral aggression, shifting from guttural growls to the piercing, possessed shrieks. The raw, analog production ensures every riff, solo, and blast beat echoes with the primitive spirit of ’80s legends like Hellhammer, Sodom, and the ferocious Brazilian pioneers Sarcófago.

The concept of Triumph of Evil is a direct, blasphemous inversion of a common religious narrative. The album’s stunning, hand-painted artwork shows Satan not defeated, but victorious, humiliating the Archangel. This visual rebellion sets the stage for the title track and the album as a whole: a merciless celebration of evil and the subversion of all that is considered holy. This is not just metal worship; it’s a declaration of war.

The album’s lead single, “Midnight Ritual,” serves as a perfect introduction to this hellish journey. Penned as a “killer track” with a “catchy chorus,” it is a raw, blood-soaked anthem celebrating the fusion of heavy metal with unholy rituals. This song, and indeed the entire album, was a testament to the band’s dedication, with songs written and arranged remotely under immense pressure, just weeks before their upcoming European tour.

This isn’t an album for the faint of heart. It is a raw, uncompromising tribute to the true underground. Triumph of Evil is a sound forged in defiance and a testament to the enduring power of pure, unholy metal.
