Sarah, the main charachter of the “Fear” story/concept, wakes up alone, confused, and with no memories in an inhospitable place. As she tries to remember who she is and what she is doing there, she is haunted by voices from the past and present that reveal themselves to be her fears that return to torment her. With the participation of the illustrious guest Fernando Ribeiro von vocals, it is a grand introduction to the album and its tale!

Lead by the magnificent voice and imposing presence of Eduarda Soeiro (officially part of the current Moonspell live band), Glasya keeps marrying cinematic heavy metal and a bright storytelling vein.

Three years after the excellent “Attarghan” concept album, “Fear” displays a more modern symphonic metal sound with strong grooves, catchy chorus and several honorable special guests (Moonspell’s Fernando Ribeiro, Vision Of Atlantis’ Michele Guaitoli, Dark Oath’s Sarah Leitão).

“Fear” tells the quest of a woman who finds herself confronted with her own fears and gains the courage to overcome them. The listener will be walking in the shoes of the protagonist and feel her trepidation, her convictions, her achievements and the confidence that she develops in herself to help a close one.

During the course of the compelling story, she will fully reveal her weaknesses and how they can finally become her strengths – a real triumph over adversity.

Glasya are:
Eduarda Soeiro – vocals
Davon Van Dave – keyboards
Hugo Esteves – guitar
Bruno Prates – guitar

VØVK Capture Fear And Hope on New Single + Video ‘Mur’

Ukrainian progressive rock/post-hc band Vøvk will release their upcoming new full-length record,  “Litera”, on October 3 via kontrabass. Today, the band presents their third single, “Mur”, accompanied by a monochrome music video. The song reflects the emotional landscape of the first days of the Russian full-scale invasion, when daily life shrank to the narrow corridors of apartments, and people sought comfort in fragile illusions of safety.

In an in-depth statement, the band shares: “In the first days of the full-scale invasion, our lives narrowed to the corridors of our apartments, where between two walls we built our own fortresses. Onto mattresses and sleeping bags we slowly dragged books, laptops, dishes – as if trying to fill this space with a new life. Every evening, scrolling through the news feed, we believed that the night would erase the horror, and the morning would bring a different reality, like waking up from a nightmare. These feelings shaped the song ‘Mur’ – our naïve, almost childlike faith that tomorrow is near, just one dream away.“

Stream the single HERE

Built on hypnotic rhythms and dynamic contrasts, “Mur” captures the duality of fear and hope: aggression and tension coexist with lullaby-like calmness. This duality is also reflected in the song’s title, which holds multiple meanings:

Mur – Ukrainian word for “wall”. A fortress wall raised by the song’s lyrical hero;
Mur – from the Ukrainian word for “ants”, the creatures that populate the track;
Mur – a muffled murmur, a whisper that resonates throughout the song.

The video illustrates the threshold between harsh reality and dream, offering a glimpse of escape into a fragile, imagined peace. As a part of the upcoming album, “Mur” symbolizes awakening – the breakthrough of new life through devastation, embodying both vulnerability and resilience.

Michael Jackson Goes Gothic: PURE OBSESSIONS & RED NIGHTS Drop Powerful ‘Give In to Me’ Cover

The new single from Pure Obsessions & Red Nights, “Give In to Me”, offers a powerful new perspective on Michael Jackson’s timeless track.

The song was originally recorded in 2019 during the sessions for the Mr. Strangler Trilogy, but remained unreleased, until now! Six years later, the band finally shares it with the world, offering listeners a track that feels both fresh and nostalgic within their musical journey.

With its Gothic Metal edge, infused with darkwave textures and industrial rock intensity, the cover showcases the band’s ability to transform a classic into their own sonic universe.

Philippe Deschemin, who took care of mixing and mastering, reflects on the release:

During the recording of the Mr. Strangler Trilogy, I wanted to step aside from my own compositions and work on a cover. I’ve been a Michael Jackson fan since my early days, and many of his songs have a strong rock foundation. The choice of ‘Give In to Me’ felt natural. With the Trilogy leaning toward Gothic Metal and Industrial Rock, I wanted to push the guitars and give the song that weight. I’m glad to finally release it, six years after its recording.”

OMNIVIDE Announce New EP “Arise” + Release First Single And Video ‘Void’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 7, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: OMNIVIDE. Leave a comment

Canadian progressive metal band Omnivide return with their most ambitious work to date. The band have announced their upcoming EP Arise is set for release on 10th October via Seek & Strike.

Leading the charge is the breathtaking first single, ‘Void’, ushered in by a striking performance video, weaving the band’s onstage intensity with intricate, hand-drawn animations that mirror the track’s dramatic interplay of light and dark.

Omnivide state: “Our first single, ‘Void,’ was the first song that began to take shape at the beginning of the writing process for the EP, so it has a lot of the foundational characteristics that inspired the rest of the songs. It has technical riffs, a contrast of high intensity and laid-back sections, orchestral arrangements, a mix of harsh and clean vocals and a crushing guitar solo. Overall, it encapsulates our intentions with the music for this EP, which is why we choose it as a lead single. It also has the most direct link to the lyrical theme of the EP, being about overcoming inner limitations and external adversity in life’s most dire situations. It vividly expresses the desperation felt in times of seemingly insurmountable struggle, the refusal to give up no matter how badly the odds are stacked against us and the growth that takes place when one chooses to face such challenges.”

With Arise, Omnivide elevate the sonic palette laid out in their 2024 debut album A Tale of Fire. That record, self-produced and refined over years, fused progressive, melodic, death and symphonic metal to critical acclaim and launched the band’s rise, featuring an extensive tour across Canada and resulting in nominations for Music NB Awards in ‘Breakthrough Artist’ and ‘Song of the Year’ categories. Their signing with Seek & Strike later that year signalled their growing international momentum.

Now with Arise, the group raise the stakes, pushing deeper into progressive and symphonic territory while maintaining the technical edge that has become their signature. Drawing influence from acts such as Between The Buried and Me, Opeth and TesseracT, Omnivide fuse brutality and beauty in equal measure.

The band add: “Arise is a major evolution from our debut album A Tale of Fire. We took the elements we loved most from that first release and cranked them up another level. We really wanted to outdo ourselves on this one and we all felt ready to make something better in a shorter time frame. People can expect more techy riffs, bigger orchestral arrangements, more progressive song structures and more clean singing to complement the harsh vocals. The EP also has a lot of ups and downs in intensity, going from all-out brutal riffs to chilled-out, subdued clean sections throughout each song.”

With Arise, Omnivide push themselves further than ever, delivering a thrilling balance of technicality, melody and emotional depth. The EP cements their reputation as one of the most exciting rising forces in modern progressive metal.

Track-list:

1. Prelude
2. Void
3. Tyrannical Saviour
4. Omnipotent
5. Arise

With their most ambitious album “Wounds”, COLD IN BERLIN expand their doom goth rock sound further – bringing in synths, free-jazz brass, and off-kilter rhythms.

First single “Hangman’s Daughter” leads the charge and is available for streaming and downloading from September 5th. Opening with a hypnotic techno bassline, the song quickly gives way to Post-Punk guitars, huge choruses, and vocalist Maya’s magnetic storytelling.

“‘Hangman’s Daughter’ is an unrequited love song”, says Maya.
“A woman was loved but could not love in return so she is drowned by the man who loves her. She is not lost though – she haunts the killer and he can’t escape her. The title hints at the past, but actually this is a very current issue for women today – how to literally survive when they can’t love a man who has decided he only wants her.”

🎥 🎬 ⚙️ Composition & Production: Cold In Berlin

COLD IN BERLIN emerged from East London’s gothic underground in 2010, evolving into one of the UK’s most revered live acts.
Blending dark Post-Punk, Doom, and Krautrock with Maya’s fierce, commanding vocals, their sound balances raw power with haunting beauty.
Debut album “Give Me Walls” (2010) made waves with Artrocker Album of the Year, followed by acclaimed releases on Candlelight Records and New Heavy Sounds … [ … learn more here ]
