Wanikiya Record is proud to announce that MAYSNOW have joined the Wanikiya Record/Promotion roster — one of the most original and intense projects in the Italian alternative and post-progressive scene!

Founded by Daniele Rini (Silvered, Ghost of Mary) in memory of his friend Mimmo Angelini, Maysnow was born from a deep creative urge, transforming pain into music — a cure for inner darkness. Alongside guitarist Roberto Vergallo (co-founder and former member of Silvered), the project immediately took on a visceral and authentic form. Over time, it was enriched by the arrival of bassist Nicola Lezzi (ex-Ghost of Mary), and more recently drummer Graziano Marra (ex-NonToccateMiranda), completing the official lineup.

Their second album, “A Dream Within A Dream”, released in 2024 by Sleaszy Rider Records, is a stunning rock/metal work that blends dark, grunge, progressive, post-metal atmospheres with modern djent influences — all while maintaining the acoustic sensitivity that has always distinguished the band.

The record features prestigious collaborations with Daniel Cavanagh (Anathema, Weather Systems), Ragnar Zolberg (Sign, ex-Pain of Salvation), and the expert production of Daniel Cardoso (Anathema, Weather Systems), who also handled the mixing and mastering.

On July 14, 2025, MAYSNOW will release their new single: “HARE (Extended Version)”, a new edition of the track featured on A Dream Within A Dream.

This new version includes a brand-new introduction and has been completely remixed and remastered by Daniel Cardoso, giving the track greater sonic depth and an even more powerful and engaging impact.

With this single, a brand-new chapter officially begins — a journey that will see Wanikiya Record/Promotion and Ossidiana join forces in the international promotion of the full album A Dream Within A Dream, bringing MAYSNOW’s music to the entire world!

Integrating tribal rhythms and ancient instruments with modern groove metal has earned Mawiza recognition from the Chilean Grammys and respected elders like Mercyful Fate, Slipknot and Mastodon. But on their upcoming third album, these modern day Mapuche warriors are fighting to restore our balance with nature.

Today, Mawiza are releasing “Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan” as the third and final advanced single off ÜL. Though drawn from a place of deep sorrow, this  earthshaking lament echoes the resilience of the band’s ancestral land by taking up the fight alongside Mapuche tribespeople and Joe Duplantier from Olympian performers and Grammy winners Gojira.

“This song is a lament for indigenous people who are living in the city, far away from the land”, Mawiza says. “But it’s also a wake up call. Underneath the city, even when crushed by concrete, nature is always fighting to come out”.

ÜL comes out July 18 on Season of Mist.

As they recently showcased onstage at Rock al Parque, Mawiza are a rising force on the international metal scene. But “Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan” harkens back to a lost moment in time. In English, the band’s latest offering translates to “The Last Harp Call”. A mouth harp opens the ceremonial proceedings, humming like a chorus of tree frogs, though this peculiar metallic instrument was chosen out of necessity.

“When writing this song, we started with the mouth harp, even though the Mapuche traditionally carved this instrument from wood”, the band says. Despite the loss, this feeling of displacement guided the song’s sense of purpose. “Kimpayaymi tami ekuwael /  (Here you will learn to respect every form of life)”, Awka chants, gathering steam like a thundercloud, before a massive groove comes roaring down with the rushing force of a waterfall.

As outside land developers continue to encroach on indigenous territory in Chile, more Mapuche are being forced to migrate into the city. The video for “Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan” was filmed in neighboring Santiago, which is one of the largest cities in the Americas. While the band are now based amongst this bustling metropolis, even when performing atop one of its towering buildings, they can’t escape feeling trapped by the mounting pollution. With sickening screams, Awka strains against dissonant shredding that surges like radiation, as he calls out for the surrounding Andes mountains.

“We are supposed to be living in balance with nature”, says Awka, who wrote the lyrics to “Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan” amidst a bout with depression. “If nature is sick, then I’m sick, too”.

“Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan” is the darkest and saddest of the nine chants on ÜL,  but in closing the album, the song stands as a final warning call. “Yafülüwkülen mapu kutxan mew (All that is born, will fall and rot)“, Awka shouts over a steady rumble of double bass. Like the dancing kollong who protects the Mapocho River in the song’s video, drummer Txalkan serves as a guiding force. His booming kultrun and rattle of cascahuillas run through the entire album like a whitewater rapid.

“We wanted this song to sound like nature resisting the advancement of the city”, Txalkan says. “Even when crushed by industrial pollution, nature is always pushing up from beneath the concrete”.

For ÜL‘s last stand, Mawiza recruited allies from across their tight-knit community. While the band are long-time fans of Gojira, after opening for the metal Olympians in Chile, they quickly connected over their beliefs. “We share similar views on nature, animal liberation, the struggles of first nations”, says Txalkan. Not only did frontman Joe Duplantier eagerly join them in visiting the Mapuche community where the video for the album’s first single was filmed. He also hopped into the recording booth. The chant that closes “Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan” brings his monstrous roar in conversation with the resilient cries of Mapuche tribesmen, the two coming together like a smoke signal that rises to meet the blue sky.

Mawiza would like to thank their Mapuche Community Ngillatuwe Maipu, as well as Joe Duplantier for being part of this chant.

ÜL means “chant” in Mapuzugun. The album represents the voice of the land, the origin of feeling, the first call to connect with emotions. It is the materialization of a part of the spirit that, for a few seconds, becomes one with the wind—a force we can hear, resonate, communicate with, and return to. ÜL is Mawiza’s indigenous chant, and like smoke, it rises as a message to the skies.

Like their Mapuche ancestors, Mawiza always look back. ÜL chants to awaken the energies that have fallen asleep in the land, using the power of the great cities to resist the noise of imbalance. In this way, the album becomes another element of nature, a force defending itself, speaking in its own language to keep fighting and condemning those who continue to futilely subjugate their own strength.

With ÜL, Mawiza present themself to the world with a decolonizing and empowering mission. The album proclaims that nature possesses consciousness and spirit. Opening song “Wingkawnoam” emphasizes the importance of indigenous Mapuche thought by following dreams as precise guides for one’s path in life.

“Pinhza ñi pewma” is a dream that Mawiza’s vocalist Awka had during a time when hummingbirds were nowhere to be seen. Their chant was absent and the chilco plant was disappearing. In Awka’s dream, four hummingbirds came to feed on the blood from his fingertips, as if it were nectar flowing from the flowers of the chilco.

ÜL pays tribute to nature and Mawiza’s ancestors. “Ngulutu” recalls ancient battles between the Mapuche and the Spanish in Santiago, Chile. “Mamüll Reke”, “Wenu Weychan”, “Lhan Antü”, and “Kalli Lhayay” are filled with rhythms and sounds reminiscent of the most hermetic rituals of the Mapuche people. They were used by shamans to induce trance and heal the sick, to communicate with and greet the spirits of the mountains.

Closing song “Ti Inan Paw-pawkan” features chants from members of Mawiza’s indigenous community, as well as Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier. It is here, during the album’s finale, that the band stake their claim as both indigenous and urban. The song acknowledges the mission entrusted to Mawiza by Mapuche authorities and by the land itself: to raise awareness about balance on Earth in an empowered way and to call for greater attentiveness to Mapuche territory. Otherwise, the consequences will be dire.

SLAYER shows have been a rare sight since their breakup in 2019 and reunion in 2024.
After massive appearances at Riot Fest in Chicago (September 22, 2024) and Aftershock Festival in Sacramento (October 10, 2024), it was time once again.

Alongside the must-have classics like “Raining Blood”, “Angel of Death” and “South of Heaven”, fans were treated to some deeper cuts as well. A particularly special moment: “Spirit in Black” was played live for the first time since 2017 – a true goosebump moment for long-time Slayer fans.

Another standout: “213”, the disturbingly intimate track from Divine Intervention, made its way into the set – as did the explosive “Black Magic”, which served as a crushing lead-in to the finale.

A powerful emotional peak came with “Postmortem”, where the crowd took over the last verse in unison.

TRYPANON Reveal Details of Upcoming Album “Through the Portal of Flesh to Achieve Divinity”

Time To Kill Records is proud to announce that Finnish blackened sludge alchemists TRYPANON will release their sophomore full-length album, “Through the Portal of Flesh to Achieve Divinity”, on September 5th, 2025.

The first single “Veiled In Shadows” is available now, streaming: https://ffm.to/trypanon-veiled-in-shadows

Tracklist:

1. Carriers Of The Chalice
2. Ruumis
3. Gnaw Out The Flesh To Free Yourself
4. Veiled In Shadows
5. Loss
6. Fire Pits
7. Cryptic Device

Hailing from the northern city of Oulu and featuring members of esteemed Finnish outfits such as Haapoja, Dart, and Renate/Cordate, TRYPANON have steadily emerged as one of the most compelling and unorthodox underground acts in recent memory. Their 2021 debut “Amentia” earned widespread acclaim for its suffocating intensity and bleak atmospheres, establishing the band as a vital force in the realms of extreme music.

With “Through the Portal of Flesh to Achieve Divinity”, TRYPANON push their vision even further into the void. The album is a nightmarish fusion of down-tuned sludge, chaotic death metal, and dissonant black metal, woven together with progressive flourishes and hypnotic melodic fragments. The result is a deeply immersive and punishing listening experience that recalls the extremity of bands like Lord Mantis, Coffinworm and Cobalt, while retaining a sonic and conceptual identity entirely its own.

Where “Amentia” was a descent into psychological collapse, “Through the Portal…” drags the listener through a ritualistic transformation — an existential death trip that explores themes of corporeal transcendence, spiritual ruin and ecstatic suffering. The record was conceived not only as an artistic evolution, but as an act of purification through sound: hostile, enveloping and uncompromising.

This release marks a significant step forward for TRYPANON, both in scope and execution. Expect a record steeped in raw emotion and relentless aggression, but also rich in nuance and disturbing beauty.

This is the kind of music that reminds you why metal was never meant to be subtle.
