SHAN Reveals New Single ‘Szpiglas’ from Upcoming Self-Titled Debut Album

SHAN is a musical project founded by drummer Łukasz Wachowiak, who is also the author of the music and lyrics. After recording the drums at No Fear Records in Rybnik, the following were invited to work as session musicians: vocalist Bartosz Palka (Grudge Theory), bassist Jakub Olszewski (ex-Polski Związek Gitów na Wolności) and guitarist Mateusz Robak.

SHAN‘s music is progressive metal, characterized by aggressive-sounding, melodic riffs. What additionally distinguishes this project from others is the often appearing and changing odd, “crooked” meter in the songs. The lyrics touch on topics related to mountain hiking, which is the passion of the band’s founder. 

SHAN means “mountain” in Mandarin language.

Music for album  was recorded at:

  • drums at No Fear Records in Rybnik [PL],
  • vocals at Dominge Studio in Kwaczała [PL] 

All was mixed and mastered at No Fear Records. Cover and layout design was done by Fabian Filiks (Devilish Impressions, Naumachia) and was based on original painting by Albert Bierstadt.

Debut self-titled album will be released digitally & on CD with cooperation of Polish label Via Nocturna on July 11, 2025. Pre-order is avilable on official webstore (here).

Appearing in the middle of the currently predictable and monochrome metal scene, Totengott is formed by three experienced musicians proceeding from metal, rock and hardcore bands from Asturias (Spain) with the aim to release the darkest songs that they are able to write and to claim the importance of evil and morbidity of compositions above technique and rawness above demonstration.

Being a difficult band to be “tagged”, Totengott can be introduced as an occult metal trio with doom/death metal influences but without leaving other genres aside such as thrash, gothic or ambient. From a musical and philosophical perspective, the band drinks from sources like the heaviest side of Celtic Frost, the raw and epic side of Bathory, the atonality of Kryzstof Penderecki, the sonic gravity of Conan and the texture experimentation of early Pink Floyd. Totengott avoids limitations in the way they understand music. Beyond the Veil takes the best elements and lessons learnt from their first two albums and push them to the limit.

Beyond the Veil is ambitious, dark and heavy. More extreme but also more melodic than its predecessors. Seven songs in about 45 minutes of music in which the band embraces the unknown and blends low end guitars with epic orchestrations, death/thrash whiplash songs that would dazzle old school metal listeners with multi layered choir vocals, takes risks and explores dark wave, ambient, ethnic and even classical genres.

German old school death metal grailkeepers CEMETERY will release their third album “Thoughts On Life… And Death” on August 8th. The album is a 50-minute concept album about the rise of a totalitarian regime and the downfall of the individual.

When you get fed up with Christianity and Paganism starts to arouse your interest, interesting things are often created. Sometimes this process needs an accelerant, which is exactly what happened when Karulainen and Metällinen found themselves to be merged in the same family tree. Now, what else would fresh, Finnish relatives do but make aggressive noises together? This gave an outlet for the music Karulainen had already been writing. 

Finnish Mourniaty began its life as a smoldering project already in 2015. It burst into raging fire five years later, when situations in life permitted concentrating on music full-time. When bass player Tenho joined the group in 2022, Mourniaty finally became a real band instead of two men with backing tracks. 

Karulainen describes Mourniaty’s music as black metal, which combines mid-tempo grooves and even symphonic arrangements combined with lyrics sung in both Finnish and English, which revolve around themes of Paganism and Anti-Christianity. The debut album, “Musta maa” (Black Earth), will be released thru Inverse records on digital platforms and in cd-format in November of 2025. What a perfect soundtrack for the darkest season of the year.

BOOBS LICKERS Drop New Single + Video ‘Sex With Socks’, Produced in Los Angeles by Fabrizio Grossi

‘Sex With Socks’, the new single by BOOBS LICKERS, is out now on all digital platforms via Volcano Records & Promotion.

The track was born in Los Angeles and produced by the legendary Fabrizio Grossi (Steve Vai, Billy Gibbons, Alice Cooper) during the Volcano Session held in California last January. Boobs Lickers were among the standout acts of the initiative, with six explosive performances, including two fiery shows at the iconic Whisky a Go Go and Viper Room on the Sunset Strip.

Visceral funk rock, sensual groove, and punk attitude: Sex With Socks is a provocative and sweaty track that urges listeners to free their bodies and minds. “Get on top, get on up” is the battle cry that opens the song, a call to surrender to rhythm, flesh, and instinct. It’s a powerful, raw, and uncensored sonic experience.
