British melodic rock legends FM return with their 15th studio album, Brotherhood – a compelling and cohesive statement of the band’s enduring class and creativity. Released by Frontiers Music Srlon September 5th, the album is available to pre-save digitally, and pre-order on CD and vinyl from https://ffm.to/fmbrotherhood.
To celebrate, the band have released “Living on the Run” – the first single from the highly anticipated album. Watch the official music video for the new single on YouTube HERE.
Once again delivering their signature blend of hook-laden AOR and blues-tinged hard rock on Brotherhood, FM reaffirms their status as masters of the genre.
Brotherhood showcases a band still at the top of their game, with highlights including the infectious anthem “Living on the Run“, the unforgettable anthemic rocker “Don’t Call It Love”, the punchy and powerful “Coming For You“, and the emotionally charged “Time Waits For NoOne” – all tracks that echo the spirit and melodic strength of FM’s early classics yet are unmistakably fresh and vibrant.
“First single, Living On The Run, is a great hard-hitting melodic fast-moving track,” says FM’s lead singer, Steve Overland. “The song is about what the title suggests, a real Bonnie and Clyde storyline. A very instant big chorus, which makes for a good first single choice.”
The opening track, “Do You Mean It“, brings a bluesy, soulful vibe that echoes the Doobie Brothers’ classic “Takin’ It To The Streets” sound, setting the tone for the album. Brotherhood also features one of FM’s most powerful ballads to date, “Just Walk Away” – a beautifully emotional song that highlights the band’s mastery of melodic rock. Wrapping up the album is “The Enemy Within“, a track that introduces exciting new sonic ideas while retaining the powerful and melodic qualities FM fans love.
Supporting vocals from a female guest choir add warmth and dynamic depth to “Do You Mean It” and “Just Walk Away,” perfectly complementing Steve Overland’s consistently exceptional lead vocals.
“I am proud of the new album,” enthuses Overland, “It is one of our strongest song albums to date. It is another milestone, as it’s FM’s 15th album. It’s very well paced and has great variation in song styles throughout. The album’s big ballad, Just Walk Away, is one of our best. I hope our fans feel the same way as we do about Brotherhood.”
Formed in the 80’s by the Overland brothers, FM are one of the UK’s seminal and respected rock bands. The new album was recorded by FM’s long-standing and beloved line-up including founding members Steve Overland, Merv Goldsworthy, and Pete Jupp, alongside keyboard player Jem Davis and guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick.
To promote Brotherhood, FM will embark on a major UK headline tour in September 2025 with 14 concerts, followed by European dates in early 2026. Visit FM’s official website for tickets.

It’s such a great idea that it’s astonishing no-one had thought of it before – a bold new compilation that unites a host of legendary goth/darkwave acts with the next generation of shadow-shapers to reimagine some of the darkest, most iconic songs ever written!
From the haunted first wave goth of The Danse Society to the industrial punch of Aesthetic Perfection, PLUS new offerings from Rosetta Stone (“Devil Woman”) and Corpus Delicti (a mind-melting “Dancing In The Dark”), this compilation is cohesive yet varied, a love letter to darkness in its many forms!
Due for release on August 7, all the classics are here: Los Bravos’ mid-1960s hit “Black Is Black,” as seen through the minimalistic eyes of The KVB; Black Sabbath’s “Black Sabbath” given a fresh lick of darkness by Belarusian post-punks Nürnberg; the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” redecorated by Darkways; Deep Purple’s “Black Night” taken home by Rotersand.
Other highlights include Priest’s thunderous take on Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,” Then Comes Silence’s alchemical recasting of “I Put A Spell On You,” Vampire Beach Babies audacious approach to David Bowie’s “Blackstar,” and there’s even room for some traditional Americana, as Kirlian Camera revisit “The House of the Rising Sun” and Bloody Dead and Sexy get to work on “Black Betty.”
And released as a single today, the Human League’s New Romantic-era classic “Darkness,” as spotlit by Australian enigma Buzz Kull.
Originally heard on the League’s breakthrough album Dare in 1981, it’s a tricky song to tackle, as Buzz Kull’s Marc Dwyer acknowledges.
“I wasn’t prepared to deliver the theatrical intro of the original track, but regardless of how stripped-back and simple it may sound to the average listener, the key changes in this song are incredibly difficult to even partially replicate. It’s very much tailored to Philip Oakey’s extraordinary vocal delivery.”
But this isn’t nostalgia, or even black-clad novelty. Drawing from more than a century’s worth of classic songwriting, The Black Album is a vital reawakening of the post-punk, deathrock sound that has lingered in the margins of the shadows for years, now rising to claim center stage!

In the genre of heavy music, heavy metal just demands your attention with its raw power and pure adrenaline. Through the years, this now classic formula of loud sounds often played in minor keys for that eerie effect has morphed into several subgenres. This form of extreme metal was super-charged and turned into what is now death metal. Make no mistake; Master were the leaders, right from the beginning and continue to be at the top of their game. Master is Death Metal personified.
There are just a handful of innovators that have proven to have the sheer determination and drive to create the monumental sound of a band armed with their weapons of Master‘s destruction. Paul Speckmann has been there since the very beginning of death metal. A voice of the people and sending his messages loud and clear with constant touring and bringing his music to the world.
Among this group of audio assassins; Paul is gearing up for the next target of annihilation; A steady requirement of endless touring, recording, and writing his view of life as seen through his eyes. Paul creates songs that are topical for an audience he admires and respects. Paul and Master continue to terrorize, obliterate, and demonstrate the need to sanctify and satisfy the audience as this entity continues to grow.
Powerhouse newcomers The Switch are excited to announce the release of their debut album “No Way Out”, set for release on September 5, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl. The first track and official video, “Danger On The Loose”, are also out today, giving a taste of what to expect from the record.
Canadian vocalist Bobby John, twin brothers Tom and James Martin (ex-Vega, Nitrate) and Swedish bassist Dennis Butabi Borg (Cruzh) join forces for this new project.
“No Way Out” has been a labour of love, the listeners are gonna get zapped back to the mid 80’s for a nostalgic trip back to the sound we all fell in love with!”, Tom Martin commented.
Talking about the first single, he added: “This song is a real summer anthem! It was written on a walk home one day… Like it was sent from above! And we have Paul Laine orchestrating and singing the backing vocals so he adds the final magic”.
Check out this EPK about The Switch and their upcoming album HERE
Tom and James Martin first heard Bobby singing a song they had written with Eddie LaValle and instantly knew they had to work with him.
James Martin explained: “I rang Tom up one morning after hearing Bobby sing and told him that he was our guy – we knew straight away we had the right combination with him”.
The brothers then asked their long-term friend and musical collaborator Dennis Butabi Borg if he’d like to play bass on the entire album and join the group.
Tom Martin said: “It’s the best work we’ve ever been part of: James and I never had complete control of an album with writing and mix, so it’s completely to our taste”.
Butabi added: “I couldn’t agree more, after I’d heard the first demo there was no doubt that I wanted a part of this excellent cocktail of fun, retro vibes that reminds me of growing up in the 80’s. It’s like steering a Testarossa in the Outrun arcade machine while chewing Juicy Fruits and cranking music on your walkman. This is 100% the kind of feel-good album that the world needs in these times”.
Not only is The Switch a powerhouse group, but the album was written with a theme. Imagine a movie coming out in the 1980’s that gripped the world the same way 80s classics like “Back To The Future” did, but in a parallel universe.
That movie is called “The Switch” and it’s about a band that goes on a US tour, and encounters trouble with an underworld mob. In a cruel twist of fate, the band must swap guitars for deadly weapons and end up in the ultimate fight for survival. It was the biggest movie of 1987 and spawned this huge soundtrack which you can hear on “No Way Out”!
“No Way Out” Tracklist:
1. Danger On The Loose 2. Play The Game 3. Young Hearts 4. Search For Love 5. Hangin’ On To Seventeen 6. No Way Out 7. Young Gun 8. One Night With You 9. Anytime 10. Strangers Eyes
