Oïkoumen was formed in 2017 with Elie Veux as composer and guitar player and Laura Mazard as singer and songwritter. Yael Febvray joined the band as bassplayer and synth programmer. Band is influenced by big names of the symphonic, neoclassical and gothic metal bands like Nightwish, Stratovarius and Within Temptation.

New single titled “Enchanted Worlds” was released June 20, 2025 and is available for listening at all popular streaming platforms. The song was mixed and mastered by sound engineer Julien Prost.

Band comments new song: “With Enchanted Worlds, we first wanted to propose a collaboration with Noémie Marie, the singer of Hartlight, because it felt like the perfect opportunity to do something together. We chose a fun atmosphere for it, centered around the positive emotions we get from spending time playing video games and discovering their Fantasy worlds. Our discography needed a bit of positive energy before the storm of the next album“.

MERIDIAN to Release New Self-Titled Album on September 19th

With fists raised and amps cranked, MERIDIAN return in 2025 with their fifth studio album, a self-titled statement of intent and rebirth. “Meridian” is a no-frills celebration of classic heavy metal spirit, reconnecting with the raw energy, melodic power, and rebellious attitude of the genre’s golden era. From the first riff to the final scream, this is heavy metal the way it was meant to be: direct, honest, and electrifying.

Formed in Denmark and active since 2013, Meridian have long stood at the crossroads of melodic metal, with flashes of AOR and progressive influences shaping their early records. But now, with a new frontman and a renewed sense of direction, the band strips everything back to essentials, delivering a hard-hitting, hook-filled album that proudly wears its ‘80s metal influences on its sleeve.

The shift in sound comes from two key moments: a conscious decision to sharpen their sonic identity, and the arrival of Søren Adamsen (ex-Artillery) as lead vocalist. His commanding presence and raw vocal style bring a harder edge to the band, perfectly suited to the record’s return-to-roots approach. The result is a collection of tightly crafted songs with thunderous riffs, melodic choruses, and blazing guitar solos, echoing the best of classic Maiden, Dio, and Saxon.

“Meridian” will be released on LP (black vinyl limited to 150 copies), CD and digital on 19.09.2025, via From The Vaults.

The first digital single taken from the album, titled “Uprising”, is available now on all streaming services.

Pre-order the album: https://targetshop.dk/meridian/

“Meridian” tracklist:

1. Uprising
2. When The World Finds Out
3. Crown The King Of Violence
4. Last Words Of A Dying Man
5. B.U.R.N.
6. Swinging The Chain
7. The Way Back
8. Taking Power
9. Mask Of Anger

Produced, mixed and mastered by guitarist Marco Angioni (Tygers Of Pan Tang, Steel Inferno) at Angioni Studios, “Meridian” was recorded with a live-first mindset and a stripped-down production ethos. Minimal studio tricks. Maximum impact. The album captures the tight interplay and raw stage energy that have long defined the band’s live shows.

This is not just another record – this is MERIDIAN. A bold restart. A love letter to heavy metal. And a reminder that the old school still rules.

“Meridian” will be released on LP (black vinyl, limited to 150 copies), CD and digital on 19.09.2025, via From The Vaults.

Søren Adamsen – vocals
Martin Jepsen Andersen – lead & rhythm guitars

RHYGOR is a band from Olsztyn, formed in the autumn of 2024 by Grzegorz (guitar), Michał (drums) and Olgierd (vocals). Their music is a real conglomerate, oscillating around broadly understood progressive music (Tool, Soen, Leprous) with groove metal in the style of Pantera and Lamb Of God, aggression of Slipknot and elements of post-metal.

Band comments their debut song: “Relics is about the loss of a loved one. About the shock, disbelief, and sense of unreality that come with it, making us feel like we are in a nightmare“.

At the turn of March and April 2025, the band recorded their first EP with three songs. When recording the material, the band worked with:

  • drums & guitars recorded by Michał Grabowski who is known from cooperation with such great bands as Christ Agony,Thy Worshiper and Towards Hellfire,
  • vocals recorded by Robert Wawro, who in the past cooperated with Asgaard and Exlibris.

All was mixed and mastered by Robert Wawro. The graphic design of the release and the logo design were entrusted to the famous graphic artist and musician Paweł “Miodek” Mioduchowski  (Dopelord,  Hydra, Taxi Caveman).

The single promoting this release is the song “Relics“, for which a music video was recorded in cooperation with the duo Semeniuk from Ćmy i Paprocie.

Grzegorz Golański – guitar

The announcement that metalheads worldwide had been waiting for finally came in December 2024, and the response exceeded all expectations. After a decade-long hiatus, legendary progressive metal pioneers Savatage have returned to the stage with their highly praised “Madness Reigns Europe 2025” headline tour and spectacular festival performances, proving their legacy burns brighter than ever.

The iconic lineup of John Lee Middleton, Zak Stevens, Chris Caffery, Jeff Plate, and Al Pitrelli was welcomed back with open arms by fans and critics alike. What followed was nothing short of a celebration of a band whose unique blend of thrash, progressive, power metal, and classic hard rock has left an indelible mark on the music world.

Thousands of passionate fans packed sold-out venues across Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and the UK, creating electric atmospheres that reminded everyone why Savatage remains one of metal’s most beloved acts. The band’s return proved they possess the same energy they left off with – if not more. Savatage’s festival performances were equally triumphant, with organizers praising their “headliner-worthy” shows at prestigious events including:

Into The Grave Festival – Leeuwarden, Netherlands
Hellfest – Clisson, France
Graspop Metal Meeting – Dessel, Belgium
Rockfest – Barcelona, Spain
Rockwave – Thessaloniki, Greece

Each show featured carefully curated setlists handpicked by founding member Jon Oliva, creating nostalgic journeys through the band’s legendary catalog. An emotional centerpiece of every performance was a pre-recorded video of Jon Oliva performing “Believe,” featuring a moving slideshow tribute to late guitarist Criss Oliva. The segment reached its climax when the band joined in from the stage, creating powerful moments of unity between past and present.

Festival sites were filled with fans sporting both vintage and new Savatage merchandise, while record merch sales reflected the overwhelming enthusiasm for the band’s return. Fans of all ages were seen singing, crying, and celebrating together – a testament to Savatage’s multigenerational appeal.
The tour generated euphoric responses from both fans and critics, with many describing the experience as witnessing “a piece of metal history.” Attendees left shows filled with gratitude for experiencing the band’s return and excitement for what lies ahead.

This sentiment is shared by the band members themselves, who have been overwhelmed by the love and support received. As drummer Jeff Plate revealed in an exclusive interview with EMP during the band’s rehearsals in Hanover: “This is just the beginning.”

With their triumphant return now complete, Savatage has proven that their three-decade legacy remains as powerful and relevant as ever. The “Madness Reigns Europe 2025” tour has not only satisfied longtime devotees but has also introduced a new generation to the band’s extraordinary musical legacy.

This July 13, 80s Central, the internet’s premier all-’80s radio station, is turning back the clock to one of the most iconic moments in music history: Live Aid. In honor of the legendary concert’s 40th anniversary, the station will broadcast Live Aid in its entirety, commercial-free, exactly as it happened in 1985, while featuring brand-new interviews with artists, insiders, and voices who were there when rock ‘n’ roll united the world.

“For 80s fans, this is the Super Bowl, the Grammys, and New Year’s Eve rolled into one,” said Christopher Shaw, Program Director at 80s Central. “Live Aid wasn’t just a concert—it was our Woodstock. And here at 80s Central, we’re honored to bring this historic day back to life.”

A Once-in-a-Generation Broadcast Event

Beginning Sunday, July 13 at 8:00 a.m. ET, 80s Central will rebroadcast Live Aid as it originally unfolded—uninterrupted and in real time, from both Wembley Stadium in London and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. Listeners can relive every note, every roar from the crowd, and every transcendent moment that defined the spirit of a generation.

Two cities. Two stages. One world. One sound.

The broadcast will include unforgettable sets from Queen, U2, David Bowie, Elton John, Madonna, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Phil Collins, Sting, and many more. Even moments like Phil Collins performing on both sides of the Atlantic—thanks to a Concorde jet—will be faithfully recreated in their original sequence.

New & Exclusive Interviews from the Icons Themselves

Interspersed throughout the music are never-before-heard reflections from artists and key players who helped bring Live Aid to life:

  • Brian May (Queen)
“It was one of our finest hours—definitely one of Freddie’s finest hours. The planets were aligned, and the magic happened.”
“No lights. No soundcheck. But it worked—because it was oiled by extreme goodwill. Everyone’s heart was in the right place.”
  • Larry Magid (Philadelphia Promoter)
“If John Lennon had still been alive, Live Aid would’ve brought The Beatles back together. It had that kind of spirit.”
“We raised a lot of money. A billion and a half people saw it. You can’t tell me there weren’t a couple hundred thousand people saying, ‘I want to help.’”
  • Howard Jones (Synth-Pop Icon)
“It was the most brilliant project of the ‘80s. Saving lives, showing the decade wasn’t just about greed and power.”
  • Mark Goodman (MTV VJ at Live Aid)
    “It was a seat-of-the-pants situation—terrifying and wonderful.”
“People say it was the day the record business grew a conscience—and I saw that.”

Additional commentary will include rare behind-the-scenes insights from production staff, journalists, and crew members who worked feverishly to pull off one of the most ambitious broadcasts in history.

Relive a Global Awakening

Live Aid at 40 is more than just a replay of a concert—it’s a global remembrance of a cultural awakening. Broadcast live to over 1.5 billion people in 150 countries, Live Aid raised more than $125 million for Ethiopian famine relief and forever changed the way music could serve a purpose beyond entertainment.

The 80s Central broadcast will also feature key international performances, including satellite-linked events like “Oz for Africa” in Sydney (featuring INXS, Men at Work, and Little River Band), as well as segments from Moscow, Tokyo, and Toronto—underscoring the unprecedented global scale of the effort.

ABRAHAM Announce New Album “Idsungwüssä” + Reveal First Single ‘Naked in a Naked Sky’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 1, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: ABRAHAM. Leave a comment

With four studio albums and European tours supporting Cult Of Luna and The Ocean, the Swiss masters Abraham have forged their reputation as one of the leading post metal bands in Europe.

They now return with news of their fifth studio album – the mighty idsungwüssä: a third and final chapter to a series of concept albums of truly epic proportions, at the centre of which lies a sprawling, apocalyptic portrayal of humanity’s downfall. idsungwüssä will be released 26th September via Pelagic Records.

In celebration of the news, the band have revealed the first glimpse of idsungwüssä – ‘Naked in a Naked Sky’.

Pre-order idsungwüssä here: https://orcd.co/abraham-idsungwussa

Still staged in the gritty atmosphere and philosophical weight of post-metal, sludge, and ambient noise, idsungwüssä sees Abraham march even further into dissonant and defiant territory.

“The three albums are clearly linked together thematically”, the band comment, “although, rather than an additional chapter, idsungwüssä is more like a parallel narrative to Débris de mondes perdus. The latter was a jump in time after Look, Here Comes the Dark!, whereas idsungwüssä is a jump in space, a journey away from earth. It should be the final piece of this little jolly ride.”

This album isn’t just heavy, it is absolutely drenched in delicious filth, and yet by embracing even more the melodic interludes and melancholic passages, they create a devastating contrast to the wall of power coming from stacked guitars, catastrophic drums and raging, sharp vocals – delivered in Swiss-German dialect.

“The album was recorded between November 2024 and February 2025, all while handling our day jobs and in a period that was, on a personal level, not the easiest for some of us. It is only in the last two weeks of the recording process, right before sending it out to mixing, that it sort of came together and started to feel like a coherent album, an album that we could be happy and proud about. For an album with change/transformation as an underlying theme, this is sort of performative!”

This urgency and duress bleeds into every song, an hour long journey that moves from the grim to sublime, from melancholy to raw destruction — evoking ruined civilisations and the last wails of fractured psyches. Yet there is something less bleakly human, more ethereal at moments, as if glimpsing beyond the constraints of the body and its wheel of flesh and death.

Strewn throughout the record are appearances of Farfisa Louvre organ – prominently featuring on an Abraham album for the first time. The band were also joined by Kevin Galland (Coilguns) who added additional Moog and piano parts.

The band continue: “Our approach to recording guitars was different than what we did before. Instead of having one guitar on the left playing a part and one on the right playing another part, we decided that left and right guitars were to play the same part, and the center guitar was to play another part. We just stacked more guitars whenever we needed. And oh did we use a lot of reverb, too!”

The structures and movements of the songs found within idsungwüssä are unique and fresh – a balancing of themes and emotions that is both intoxicating and unsettling, it is an immersive journey that rewards deep listening and challenges the boundaries of genre. From the patient grandeur of coming extinction, to the chaos and fevered urgency of the aftermath, in idsungwüssä Abraham move forward from prophetic lamentation to an elegiac visceral response. The emotional closure of this expression is felt, something final that will leave you speechless and with only one real option; listen to it again.

Tracklisting:

1. Fate of Man Lies in the Stars
2. I Am the Vessel and The Vessel Is Me
3. A Discomposite Shell
4. Naked in a Naked Sky
5. Suurwäut
6. En Tüüfus Tümpu
7. 06.00.40U
8. Home

Line-up:
Val DiCabillo – bass
Steven Margo Dita d’Oro – guitars
Dave Schlagmeister – drums, vocals
Jakkob Wierdmann – guitars
