Swedish JORDFÄST are back after some time with their latest opus, Blodsdåd och hor.

Today, the band presents a second taste of their upcoming album with their second single, Ett Altare av skärvor pt.3.

Stream here: https://orcd.co/ett-altare-av-skarvor-pt-3

Jordfäst about the song -Ett altare av skärvor” (An altar of shards) combines fragments from Völuspá with imagery of violent manipulation and mental torture to explore the everlasting desire in humans to make sense of their existence.

Jordfäst are

Elis – Guitars, bass, keyboards, clean vocals,
Lyrics Olof – Lead vocals, lyrics
Jocke – Drums

CD/LP Digital available at https://orcd.co/blodsdad-och-hor

Bloodshed and whoredom is the third installment in the Jordfäst saga and the darkest chapter thus far. Bellowed by the winds from the past, it is forged with steel and blood in a furnace built by Scandinavian rock. The lyrical themes and musical compositions bond together, forming a strong and durable alloy. Under the unyielding strokes of hammers, the characteristic Jordfäst soundscape has been hardened, and the melodies have been thoroughly honed by melancholia to deep-cutting perfection.

“Ett altare av skarvar” (An altar of shards) combines fragments from Völuspá with imagery of violent manipulation and mental torture to explore the everlasting desire in humans to make sense of their existence. “Dit gudarna trälar är” (Where the gods are thralls) journeys through centuries of Swedish history, shaped by the steel and iron industry and defined by relentless warfare.

Track list:

  1. Dit gudarna trälar är
  2. Ett altare av skärvor

Reinforcer has released a lyric video for “Ice And Death”, title track and first single taken from the new album to be released on August 22 by Scarlet Records.

“Ice And Death” takes you deep into Norse mythology. The ground trembles beneath a mighty stomp, as a roaring guitar riff tears through the silence – Ymir, the ancient frost-born titan, has awakened. With thunderous double bass drums and battle-hardened vocals, the song charges forward like an unstoppable force, summoning the wrath of the old world. Get ready for a heavy metal hurricane in a mystical world.

“Ice And Death”:

  • second full-length album for the German melodic power metal quintet after the successful debut “Prince Of The Tribes”;
  • mixed and mastered by Kai Stahlenberg at Kohlekeller Studio (Powerwolf);
  • cover artwork by Hendrik Noack;
  • FFO: Blind Guardian, Manowar, Iced Earth, Helloween, Running Wild;

“Ice And Death” tracklist:
1 Heir Of The Bear
2 Dead Men Tell No Tales
3 Skogamor
4 The Witch Mayor
5 Ice And Death
6 The Piper
7 Five Brothers
8 House Of Lies
9 Bring Out Your Dead

Total running time – 37:40

artwork by Hendrik Noack

Marking their tenth anniversary, and following the self-released EP “The Wanderer” (2018) and the debut full-length “Prince Of The Tribes” (2021), German power metal warriors Reinforcer return with a new collection of heroic power metal anthems.

Forged in the flames of myth and history, “Ice And Death” is Reinforcer at their finest: razor-sharp guitar riffs, sweeping dual harmonies and driving double bass rhythms power the soundscape, while Logan Lexi’s commanding vocals roar with great emotional depth. Melancholic melodies intertwine with fist-raising choruses, inviting listeners to sing along in unity and battle spirit.

Taking its name from the Norse legend of Ymir, the frost giant born from ice and chaos, “Ice And Death” leads listeners on a journey through time, retelling tales of plague-ridden cities, deceptive pied pipers, and legendary heroes and rogues from the shadows of the past. Each track is a chapter, echoing with the clang of steel and the whisper of forgotten legends.

Whether recounting the gruesome mystery of the Pied Piper of Hamelin or the haunting grip of the Black Death in London, the album fuses historical drama with dynamic storytelling and touches of dark fantasy.

Reinforcer are:
Logan Lexi – vocals
Niclas Stappert – lead guitar
Tobias Schwarzer – rhythm and lead guitar
Fabiàn Rodriguez – bass
Lasse Schmiedel – drums

THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS Release New Single + Video ‘Slipping Through (No Kings)’

5X Platinum-certified alternative rock mainstays THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS have today (June 27) released “Slipping Through (No Kings),” their latest single and video for Better Noise Music. The urgent and impassioned rallying cry—written by lead vocalist, guitarist and founding member Ronnie Winter with producer and songwriter Matt Squire—compellingly looks at the societal chaos gripping America right now.

Listen to the song HERE and watch the starkly animated video, set in the last days of an authoritarian society, below.

“It’s about what’s going on in our country. The destruction of it. Everything we ever stood for is ‘slipping through,’” says Ronnie Winter. “It all began with Matt Squire and I working together in Los Angeles. He played me the track, and it immediately hit me. I knew this was the moment to say something about what’s really going on and happening in our city. To put it simply,” adds Ronnie, who lives in Los Angeles, “my neighbors are disappearing. Families are being torn apart. And our community has reached a breaking point. These aren’t strangers, they’re our friends, our loved ones. They’re not immigrants to us, they’re neighbors. And like Jesus said, ‘Love thy neighbor.’ That’s what this song is about.”

In the “Slipping Through (No Kings)” video, directed by Steve Tramposch and Jamie Lewis, there is destruction everywhere in a world devoid of color. The main characters—“X boy” and “X girl”—watch as their friends and loved ones are snatched off the streets by masked men in menacing dark cars. The characters have X’s for eyes symbolizing their disillusionment, while others also have X’s for mouths, symbolizing that they’ve been quieted and have lost their voice. “X boy” and “X girl” are left to navigate the rubble and fend for themselves. An Alliance flag, the symbol of their rebellion (and the band’s fan community) is planted in the rubble at the end and the video turns from black and white to full color. The eyes of “X boy” and “X girl” return to full circles to emphasize their awakening and solidarity. These are the youth of the world planting their flag with open eyes after there’s nothing left.

“Slipping Through (No Kings)” marks the second new music offering from THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS—lead vocalist, guitarist and founding member Ronnie Winter, his multi-instrumentalist brother Randy Winter, guitarist Josh Burke, bassist Joey Westwood, drummer John Espy, and touring keyboardist Nadeem Salam—since their EMERGENCY EP in 2020. They previously released “Home Improvement” (which has accrued over 363k YouTube views) at the time of last October’s announcement of their signing to premiere independent music label Better Noise Music.

Formed in 2004 in Jacksonville, FL, the band has accrued Gold and multi-Platinum singles—including their massive 5x Platinum hit single “Face Down” and “Your Guardian Angel”—and 2X Platinum-certified debut album, DON’T YOU FAKE IT, alongside numerous high-ranking radio chart positions and a robust digital history of over 1.5 billion career streams. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS began their expedition into the hearts and minds of a generation 20 years ago. Their blazing 2006 single “Face Down” delivered both anthemic choruses and a strident message about domestic abuse, achieving both sales accolades and adoration from crowds all over the planet.

“Slipping Through (No Kings)” will be included on a new album on Better Noise Music, which will be announced in the coming months.

SOLENCE Release New Single And Lyric Video ‘Dead_Alive’

Swedish electronic metal group SOLENCE is defined as much by their endless optimism as their boundless talent. For “Dead_Alive”—the blazing new single from their upcoming fifth album ANGELS CALLING, due out October 3 via Better Noise Music—they take an especially bracing lyrical turn. On the track, released today (June 27), they confront societal chaos and hold out hope by urgently singing lines like “Zombified, we need to stop the bleeding/Living like we’re dead alive.” The music is signature SOLENCE: they combine big pop hooks and electro savvy with the heavy yet melodic intensity of trailblazing Swedish metal into a distinctive international sound equal parts hypnotic and uplifting.

Dead alive, yeah we are barely breathing
Waiting for the world to die
Zombified, we need to stop the bleeding
Living like we’re dead alive
— “Dead_Alive”

Listen to “Dead_Alive” HERE and watch the lyric video HERE. Pre-orders for ANGELS CALLING are available HERE.

As frontman Markus Videsäter says, “‘Dead_Alive’ is probably one of the heaviest songs on ANGELS CALLING. We really wanted to go full on with this one. The song itself is about a world on fire where instead of acting on it we all walk around like we’re ‘Dead  Alive.’ Think this is one of the most powerful choruses we’ve written to date, really excited for people to hear this!”

“Dead_Alive” is the follow-up to the album’s first single, “Where Were You..?” which was released May 13 as an instant download with pre-orders of the album HERE. The visualizer for “Where Were You..?” can be seen on Better Noise Music’s official YouTube page HERE.

Based out of Los Angeles and originally hailing from Sweden, SOLENCE’s lineup consists of frontman Markus Videsäter alongside guitarist David Strääf, keyboardist Johan Swärd, and drummer David “Viking” Vikingsson. They focus all its energy on uplifting anyone in a dark state of mind to a brighter place. “SOLENCE is all about having a good time,” Videsäter says. “Our message to our existing fans and potential new ones is that we want to bring the fun back into rock n’ roll.”

ANGELS CALLING is the follow-up to their EP BLUE MONDAY (Better Noise Music), released this past January with three new songs: “F**k The Bad Vibes,” “A Banger A Day Keeps The Doctor Away,” and “Who You Gonna Call? (Solence),” which Houston Chronicle highlighted in their “Top 50 Best Underground Music Videos of 2024” list. It also includes two remixed versions of their hit track “Good F**king Music” by Swedish-based producer MVRE and L.A.-based producer kodeblooded (Asking Alexandria, Charlotte Sands). BLUE MONDAY can be downloaded and streamed HERE.

SOLENCE have built a dedicated global audience on past tours opening for bands including Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Electric Callboy, We Came As Romans, and The HU, in addition to festival appearances across Europe (Rock For People Festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, Resurrection Fest, Tuska Festival, Nova Rock Festival) and the U.S. (Aftershock, Louder Than Life, Blue Ridge Rock Fest).  A SOLENCE performance is a participatory sport, with audiences encouraged to sing and bounce along.

Lauded as one of Pandora’s “Rising Rock Artists To Watch In 2023,” SOLENCE have to date garnered over 365 million cumulative streams, over 888k monthly Spotify listeners, and over 96 million video views since their formation in 2012. The band started by releasing heavy renditions of well-known pop hits from the likes of Imagine Dragons, Fall Out Boy, Ed Sheeran, Britney Spears, and Queen before breaking out with their 2019 debut album BROTHERS. It was quickly followed by their sophomore album, DIRECTION, which saw them achieve their first Active Rock radio charting with “Animal In Me” which became SiriusXM Octane’s most-played track in 2020. Octane’s Sr. Director, Music Programming Vincent Usuriello described SOLENCE’s sound as “a dynamic fusion of rock, metal, and pop elements, with powerful vocals, electrifying guitar riffs, and infectious melodies, creating an immersive sonic experience.” In 2021, SOLENCE released their third album, DEAFENING, which showed their range of inspirations from music to anime, gaming, sci-fi, and even philosophy and soon followed with their fourth album HOPE IS A CULT in 2023. Amidst writing new material for SOLENCE, Videsäter and Strääf have lent their songwriting skills to pop acts including Jason Derulo and Bebe Rexha.

In 2025, SOLENCE continues to spread its life-affirming message. “‘Until I hear the ‘Angels Calling’ reminds us that life is way too short to worry about doubt or making mistakes,” Markus Videsäter points out. “We never know when our time is up, so let’s make the most of it while we can!”

SOLENCE will hit the road later this year for a European tour opening for Nothing More, which launches November 7 in Finland, along with Catch Your Breath and Ankor. General tickets are available now on their official website.

THE MEAN TIMES’ Wicked New Single ‘Hell’ Out Now

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 29, 2025

Melbourne’s finest donkeys of musical mischief, The Mean Times, are back with ‘Hell’, the second single from their upcoming album ‘Feel More Dumb’, dropping September 2025 via Golden Robot Records. ‘Hell’ is out now and is available on all digital platforms.

We’re all going to Hell. Might as well make it sound good.

Stream here: https://orcd.co/the-mean-times-hell

A garage-pop post-punk panic attack disguised as a party anthem, ‘Hell’ is part sermon, part sleaze, and fully unhinged. Imagine The Vines if they took their meds with beer instead of water. Or early Arctic Monkeys after two weeks of no sleep, bad decisions, and worse influences. It’s Dune Rats with existential dread. Depeche Mode getting personal with Jesus. You get the picture. But underneath the mayhem is a message – or maybe the absence of one.

‘Hell’ is a filthy, sex-positive anthem that kicks down the doors of shame and invites everyone in. Too many sex songs cater to straight male fantasies. This one’s for everyone who enjoys getting dirty, regardless of gender or orientation. With surreal euphemisms, cheeky blasphemy, and a whole lot of hip-thrusting swagger, it’s unapologetic, inclusive, and just plain fun.

Musically, it’s the collision of a breakdown and a banger, snarling sarcasm and earworm choruses, driven by a rhythm section that hits like a stolen shopping trolley careening downhill. It’s the sound of trying to keep it together while everything around you burns – fast, loud, and somehow danceable. There’s no redemption arc here. No moral compass. Just a hook-filled descent into joyful chaos. It’s the end of the world. Bring a saddle. And maybe a safe word.

Thomas Morgan – Vocals, guitar
Robert Meerbach – Bass
Eoin Clements – Guitar, backing vocals
Ryan Williams – Drums
