MOTOROWL Sign to Karisma Records & Release New Single ‘Water Line’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 18, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: MOTOROWL. Leave a comment

Heavy, psychedelic, and atmospherically intense – MOTOROWL from Thuringia, Germany, craft sonic landscapes that fuse doom, prog, and psychedelic rock into a sound uniquely their own. Since forming in 2014, the band has delivered music that’s as emotionally deep as it is sonically massive.

Blending the weight of classic heavy rock with 70s progressive influences and modern post-metal textures, Motorowl conjure a dense, cinematic sound. Crushing guitars, analog synths, commanding vocals, and driving rhythms merge into songs that are both heavy and melodic, dark yet captivating.

After three full length albums (two on Century Media), Motorowl recently signed to Karisma Records, and the band comments: “We’re stoked to announce that we’ve teamed up with Bergen-based Karisma Records to release our new music worldwide.”

To celebrate this, a new song called Water Line is released today, and you can check out here: https://orcd.co/motorowl-water-line

There’s also a video for the song which you can see here:

Max Hemman of Motorowl has this to say about Water Line:
Water Line is a song about a story my grandfather and his friends used to tell me.
Near my family’s cabin in the woods, a small settlement was once flooded to make room for the river and create a reservoir. “Don’t dive too deep, or you’ll hit the church,” they used to say. Back then, it sounded to me like an entire village was lying down there beneath the water, as if it were still there, preserved underwater.
That image has stayed with me my whole life. Even now, knowing that it was actually just a long abandoned mill and the farm surrounding it, I often look out at that spot and imagine what it must have looked like back then. I think about the people who lived there and eventually had to leave their homes because the water was coming.
That image became Water Line. The song tells the story of this submerged place and the people who, in my imagination, are still living down there.
Water Line is the first in a series of songs we’ve written about the myths, stories, and legends from the area where we grew up.

Motorowl will start recording their new album this fall, but they’ve also found time to join the mighty Bergen based heavy rock band Audrey Horne on a European tour. You can catch the band here:

Finnish progressive metal band Sum of Seven released a cover version of ‘Rain’ which is known from the anime series Cowboy Bebop.

““Rain” is a cover of the song composed and arranged by Yoko Kanno, with lyrics by Tim Jensen. The song is best known from the anime series Cowboy Bebop, and like so much of Yoko Kanno’s work, it is one of those pieces that simply stands out and leaves you speechless.

For our version, we wanted to preserve the essence of the original while bringing it into the musical world of Sum of Seven. What makes “Rain” special to us is its contrast. Beneath its melancholic and intimate surface lies a powerful emotional core, and we wanted to bring that contrast forward without losing the vulnerability of the original.

Yoko Kanno is one of the most phenomenal musicians of our time. Her work is a reminder of what music can be when it is born from genuine skill, courage, and emotion. Her ability to move freely between genres and create music for anime, film, television, and beyond is something we deeply admire. We hope this cover conveys even a fraction of the respect and admiration we feel for her music.”, tells Ari Lempinen

–Composed and arranged by Yoko Kanno
–Lyrics by Tim Jensen
–Arranged by Ari Lempinen
–Produced by Sum of Seven
–Mixed & mastered by Tommi Kujala
–Single cover by Ari Lempinen
–ISRC-code: FI3FC2604101

“Rain” is a version of “Rain” (Tim Jensen, Yoko Kanno). Published by Bandai Namco Music Frontier Inc. Used by permission. All rights reserved.

Turku-based Sum of Seven blends progressive storytelling, heavy riffs, and melodic atmospheres inspired by bands like Haken, Threshold, and Vola. Following acclaimed releases and a lineup renewal with vocalist Marko Loukamaa in 2020, the band emerged stronger than ever. After overcoming major setbacks including a serious accident involving guitarist and main composer Ari Lempinen in 2024,  Sum of Seven returned to the stage in 2025 and released their critically acclaimed concept album Echoes of the Hypermind in spring 2026.

PHIL SOUSSAN has released a video trailer for his upcoming release Cosmo Fighter Part One, to be released on BraveWords Records on November 13th. Fans can check out samples of all the songs on the EP.

Cosmo Fighter is no ordinary album. It will be unleashed as a trilogy of three EP’s (Parts 1, 2, and 3). The first single and video for the track “Fading Out”, is available now. All pre-orders of the new EP on Bandcamp will be able to immediately download the first single. The first single, “Fading Out”, brings to the surface a sequencer styled bass line, a magnetic guitar riff, and a time change in the chorus that you neither expect nor understand. And the message that whoever chooses to oppress will one day become “faded out” themselves.

Cosmo Fighter is a sonic roller coaster that forces us to reconfigure how we see the world. While it treats the listener with fierce respect, it plants subtle, haunting questions that linger long after the music fades. By the final track, the album clears out the background noise of modern society, leaving a profound, open mental space ready to be repopulated with life’s true harmony.

Written, performed, produced, and mixed entirely by Phil, other than a few guest appearances, it was born from an unexpected moment of silence. Finding himself off the road and on a rare hiatus, he felt an aggressive creative pull, an inspiration calling him to once again venture boldly into the labyrinths of creativity.

Tracklisting:
“Fading Out”
“The More You Take”
“Fallen From Grace”
“Please Don’t Make Me Wait”

All songs written and recorded by Phil Soussan.
Mixed and Mastered by Phil Soussan at Blue Cat Studios, Las Vegas.
All instruments and vocals by Phil Soussan, except for the guitar solos on “Please Don’t Make Me Wait” by Richie Kotzen.

About PHIL SOUSSAN:

For more than forty years, legendary bassist, songwriter, and producer Phil Soussan has laid the sonic foundation upon which global rock-and-roll royalty has built its towers.

British born singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and performer Phil Soussan has been involved in music since his school years in London, where he excelled studying classical violin and composition. His most notable memory of those days was performing at a private classical concert for HRH Queen Elizabeth II.

Since then from rock and metal, to commercial and mainstream, Phil has worked with some of the biggest names in music and has earned himself a stellar reputation. Named by Mike Varney of Shrapnel Records as “the most underrated bass player in the rock/blues world” he has played with a who’s who of artists. As such he has been the driving force alongside titans such as Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmy Page, Billy Idol, Vince Neil, Johnny Hallyday, Steve Lukather, Edgar Winter, and John Waite.

As a songwriter, he is the master craftsman behind Ozzy Osbourne’s mega-hit “Shot in the Dark”, he co-wrote Vince Neil’s first solo album Exposed, and co-wrote guitarist Steve Lukatherʼs solo album, LUKE. He followed that success by writing and arranging “After You’re Gone”, the opening track for Toto on their Mindfields album, which earned a Grammy nomination.

“As a member of Simon Kirke’s band on Swan Song Records we were managed by Peter Grant; that connection led to an invitation for me to play with Jimmy Page, who was in the process of igniting what was to become The Firm. After a one-off live TV appearance with an unrelated artist I received a call from Ozzy asking me to audition for his band. That was an enviable yet tough decision, whether to continue with Jimmy or to embark on a chapter with the great Ozzy!”

With that commenced a remarkable rock’n’roll rollercoaster ride. Submitting the song “Shot in the Dark” as a last-minute addition to The Ultimate Sin album, no-one could have been prepared for the ensuing success. A Top-Ten single for many weeks on the Rock Charts, six months at #2 on the MTV music charts, a double platinum album and quite possibly the biggest tour of Ozzy’s career, Phil found himself performing to many thousands of new generation Ozzy fans in sold out arenas world-wide. The now 150-million Spotify streamed song crossed Ozzy over into the mainstream, bringing Metal to the commercial masses, and the rest became history.

Jumping forward, and while currently anchoring the sensational rock band LAST IN LINE in, Phil is turning the page on his most ambitious chapter yet.

FATE UNBURIED Return with New Single & Video ‘Expect Nothing’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 18, 2026

Italian progressive death metal group FATE UNBURIED have released “Expect Nothing”, another single taken from their forthcoming new album “Neraspeme”, due out on October 16, 2026 via Time To Kill Records. The new track once again showcases the band’s particular penchant for intricate twists and turns, moving through sharp-edged riffs and melancholic openings that intertwine without ever settling into predictable patterns. Their songwriting continues to balance impact and introspection, with each section contributing to a restless, carefully developed flow.

The band comments:

“‘Expect Nothing’ explores the darker side of hope, where something still lingers even when there is almost nothing left to hold onto.
The track sits in the space between letting go and holding on, questioning what remains when expectations slowly disappear and the future no longer seems to have a different outcome.
There is a quiet tension in holding on to something that may already be gone, caught between the feeling that it could still change and the realization that nothing is left to expect.”

With “Neraspeme”, the band continue to refine a progressive death metal language built on intricate arrangements, emotional depth and a strong atmospheric core, positioning the album as their most complete and multifaceted statement to date.

“Neraspeme” is a sonic journey into the core of a relationship in decay. A 12-track concept album, each song is designed to unsettle, surprise, and relentlessly pull the listener forward, never allowing a moment of rest.

The album is defined by sharp, powerful riffs that are often unexpectedly catchy, lodging themselves in the listener’s mind while retaining a fierce, unyielding aggression. The band skillfully weaves in progressive elements through sudden tempo shifts, intricate instrumental passages, and moments of eerily suspended atmosphere, balanced by sections driven by a strong, groove-oriented drum performance.

On a thematic level, “Neraspeme” traces the full emotional cycle of a relationship approaching its end. The tracks unfold like chapters of an inner collapse, moving from blinding anger to disoriented madness, and finally to the album’s title concept: a warped, dark form of hope that offers no redemption and ultimately dissolves like a mirage.

WODOS Release New Single ‘Head Dead’ from Upcoming “From The Grave” Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 18, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Wodos. Leave a comment

Wodos is an old-school thrash metal band from Lévis, Quebec, Canada, formed in the winter of 2024. Rooted deeply in the DIY ethos, the band has built its foundation from the ground up hand-crafting show flyers, recording demo tapes, and making their own banners.

In early 2025, Wodos released their debut three-song demo on both cassette and CD, making a major splash in the local and international underground scene. The release garnered coverage in numerous magazines and received airplay on over 50 radio stations worldwide. Known for their fast, aggressive sound and reputation as heavy beer drinkers, Wodos tore through over 30 shows across Quebec and Ontario in their first year alone, sharing the stage with acts like Chris Holmes (W.A.S.P.), Quebec thrash legends Soothsayer, BARF, and many others.

Looking ahead, Wodos has an extensive lineup of upcoming shows, including high-profile dates with Canadian thrash pioneers DBC (Dead Brain Cells).

Drawing direct influence from 80s legends like Slayer, Sadus, Demolition Hammer, Dark Angel, and early Quebec underground thrash, their debut full-length album, From the Grave entirely on analog equipment is set for release on September 20th. It’s a raw, fast, and aggressive record built for authentic old-school fans.

Wodos is the answer for anyone fed up with new bands relying on TikTok trends or catchy videos: no gimmicks, no polished over-production: just speed, aggression, and pure 80s thrash metal. Fuck the posers , thrash till death.
