CALVA LOUISE Release Explosive New Single ‘Impeccable’

Calva Louise continues their frenetic vision on the explosive new single, Impeccable. It pulls you with both hands into their complex cinematic sci-fi universe with a mesmerizing blend of punk, metal and electronica. They’ve dropped another incredibly hypnotic video, once again directed with visual effects by singer/guitarist Jess Allinac. Watch it HERE.

Calva Louise will also be performing on 12 July at 2000Trees Festival.

The sprawling story of Calva Louise is captivating. The band that found each other from opposite corners of the world—Venezuela, New Zealand, and France—found their home and community in the UK. Their combined influences and experiences create an incredible melting pot of musicality, and with Jess Allinac’s compelling narrative vision, they’ve conceived something truly unique.

Their new studio album, Edge of the Abyss, which is co-produced by Pendulum’s Gareth McGrillen, will be released on 11 July via Mascot Records.

Set in 1994, Impeccable is a direct sequel to W.T.F., which introduced the protagonist, Louise, who is experiencing bizarre happenings inside her home and encounters a feeling of dread signalling danger: someone is inside her house and stalking her. She catches glimpses of what has been stalking her: an uncanny version of herself, her “double.”  “It is about that feeling of powerlessness that occurs when we are in situations beyond our control, ” said Jess Allanic.

Another high-energy collision of futurism, riffs, apocalyptic drums, and haunting electronics, Impeccable continues its journey down the rabbit hole and tells the story of a young man called Jonnie, who has been deadly poisoned and has no choice but to act impeccably to survive.

“I follow you anywhere you go. Death spoke to the warrior, Who was looking for a chance. I follow you anywhere you go. He said to the abyss, On the edge of life, ” the lyrics hypnotically yearn.

“For this, he has to follow his double into another world, the Fractalworld, or death will strike him,” the band says. “Jonnie will have to quickly understand who his double is and cross over the threshold to overcome his fate. Impeccable is the direct sequel of W.T.F., where we meet the main character Louise and her own encounter with her double.”

‘The Edge of the Abyss’ sees characters travelling between different dimensions, with people who mysteriously resemble doubles of each of us, like shadows that seem to stalk us but who, in reality, seek to communicate. Who are these beings? What do they want from us? How can we reach them?

The recent single Lo Que Vale – translated into English as ‘What is Worth,’ became the latest frenzied instalment of the album following  Aimless – a reflective catharsis of human communication. The cinematic sci-fi videos for the album singles show different times and worlds where some characters have encounters with their ‘doubles’. W.T.F is the prequel of the previous singles, La Corriente and Under The Skin – all directed and VFX by Jess.

You can trace the Calva Louise project—the ‘origin’ story, if you will— back to ten-year-old Jess Allanic, drawing in her home in Guarenas, on the outskirts of Caracas, Venezuela. There, the genesis of the idea for her story about a hidden world intertwined with our world began.

Growing up during Venezuela’s most disastrous economic and social crisis, the alternative scene was disappearing. She dreamt of living in the UK. Just before her 16th birthday, she made the courageous decision to move more than 7,500km from Caracas to Rouen in France – because it was close to the UK. She was to live in a convent, where she would be told off by nuns for playing guitar along to System of a Down in her bedroom.

Next door was a 1600s “Hogwarts” like school, where she met Alizon Taho.  They would travel to the UK to play shows with limited English and without knowing anyone. This is where they met New Zealand drummer Ben Parker. They took every experience presented to them – and the consequences that came with them. They took on jobs, stayed in garages, sofas, and with “friends of friends”. Robbed, scammed and taken advantage of, they stayed in £10 motels that were sometimes surrounded by rats. They would often have to move at very short notice. “I had one suitcase and my guitar,” Jess says.

“Our album is called Edge of the Abyss because that’s how we live. One misstep and everything could fall apart,” Jess says. “I emigrated twice, so I’ve already had a culture shock twice. This hurts a little less because this is where I want to be. I have nowhere to go back to,” she says.

They built an impressive DIY spirit and formidable reputation on the UK live circuit through performances at Download and 2000Trees, a headline performance on the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds festival, and tours with Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Razorlight, Boston Manor, and Bloodywood. The US saw a co-headline tour with Vukovi and festival slots at Welcome to Rockville, So What?, Sonic Temple, Riot Fest, SXSW, and Shiprocked.

“Our willpower never dies, that’s the thing. It’s been hard learning every day, but look at our friendship. We say that it’s like the path of the warrior”. Jess exclaims.

Calva Louise is Jess Allanic (Vocals/Guitar/Keyboard), Alizon Taho (Bass/Backing Vocals) and Ben Parker (Drums/Backing Vocals).

Emerging from the shadows of industrial decay of Łódź, Poland, autoscopy is a visceral new force in the realm of heavy music. Fusing crushing electronic beats, cinematic soundscapes, and metallic aggression, the band conjures a sound that’s both haunting and hypnotic.

With influences rooted in darkwave, post-metal, and EBM, autoscopy explores themes of identity, inner conflict, and the uncanny — inviting listeners to peer into the mirror and confront the reflection that stares back.

This is not just music; it’s an out-of-body experience, so step into a world of distorted dreams and digital shadows.

The album “the third man factor” was mixed and mastered by Kuba Sawicki at Phi Studio, whose portfolio includes collaborations with Averme, Fallen Prophet and Christian Woochuck. The graphic design was done by Bartosz Hervy (Blindead). The debut album is scheduled to be released on June 13, 2025 on CD (pre-order at Bandcamp) and all popular digital platforms (pre-save).

This is how the band comments their album: “The Third Man Factor is an album announcing a new phase of musical madness. It’s a way to face your inner demons and start a new path of reality“.

Below you can watch lyric video for “He Is Me” and the videoclip for the single “Touch of Reality“.

DREADMASK Confront Tragedy with Fierce Emotion on New Single & Video ‘The Light’

The relentless melodic death metal quartet DREADMASK has released their gripping new single and video, “The Light” — a harrowing and emotionally charged track taken from their critically acclaimed debut EP, Thy Prime Dread, out now via Wormholedeath Records.

The song is about the devastating train crash in Greece on February 2023, showing the chaos, loss, and heartbreak that followed. It’s a harsh reminder of how greed, apathy, and incompetence can lead to tragedies. The lyrics capture the feeling of trying to hold on to hope while everything around you falls apart. It paints a vivid picture of the human cost of neglect and those in power who don’t care, asking for help when everything feels like it’s too late.

Stream the single here: https://orcd.co/thelightsingle

Born in 2023, Dreadmask arose from a collective passion for crafting heavy music with a purpose. Based in Eindhoven and composed of members from Greece, Hungary, and the Netherlands, the band channels personal and societal struggles into their music. Their name, Dreadmask, symbolizes the battle against fear and the facades we construct to navigate a tumultuous world.

Dreadmask’s EP, Thy Prime Dread, explores existential dread and human resilience, delivering a blend of crushing riffs, haunting melodies, and poignant lyricism. With influences ranging from Swedish death metal and blackened melancholy to progressive elements, Dreadmask is carving a unique space in the metal scene.

Yesterday, US/Canadian heavy doom outfit Castle kicked off their recently announced European tour dates in support of their album Evil Remains, which was released in September 2024 via Hammerheart Records. A full list of confirmed shows can be found below.

Absolutely stoked to be playing a few festivals on this run including Muskelrock, Battle Cry Fest… plus a weeks worth of our own headlining shows. We’re also changing up the setlist this time and will have another track from the new album for you all to hear. See you out there on the road!“

Evil Remains Europe 2025, remaining shows:

Over the years, Castle have maintained a rigorous touring schedule, performing nearly 700 shows between 2012 and 2019. They have shared stages with acts like The Sword, Conan, Intronaut, and Pentagram, and have appeared at prominent festivals such as Roadburn Festival and Desertfest.

Evil Remains is a hook-laden heavy metal thrill-ride into Nosferatu nights.

Back after a six year break with the black magic fully recharged, Castle have delivered a juggernaut of riffery in a hook-laden mix of doom and psychedelic-tinged classic metal. Adding to the atmosphere of majestic doom, Elizabeth Blackwell’s haunted, full-blooded vocals are electric witch hymns of death and madness; ‘Hear my warning, heed my call’ indeed.

Recorded at Raincity Recorders in Vancouver B.C. by producer Jesse Gander (Anciients, 3 Inches Of Blood, Brutus) Evil Remains sonically balances the warm and fuzzy with the bombastic power of an alternate universe stadium rock band. Bassist/vocalist Elizabeth Blackwell and guitarist/vocalist Mat Davis bring their unique female and male vocal attack and scorching, serpentine riffs to dizzying new heights. Rounded out by drummer Mike Cotton’s thunderous precision, Evil Remains delivers a metallic knock out punch from the first to the last note of its eight pummelling tracks.

Written over a five year period – beginning in Castle’s then home town of Joshua Tree, California after a year-long tour for their previous album, Deal Thy Fate – the songwriting culminated this past year with pre-production sessions taking place in the band’s new twin home bases of San Francisco and Vancouver. Since storming out of San Francisco with their 2011 debut, In Witch Order, Castle have toured relentlessly. The live ritual resumes this year across North American and European dates.

THE VALLEY Release New Alt-Prog Single ‘Eons’ with Official Video

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: The Valley. Leave a comment

THE VALLEY return with ‘Eons’, a new, atmospheric track available from May 30th on all digital platforms via Volcano Records, and on YouTube with an official video directed by Marco Rimondi.

The alt-prog band from Liguria (Italy) confirms their ability to explore the most intimate and melancholic territories of contemporary progressive music, drawing inspiration from bands like Tool, Katatonia, and Riverside. Eons is a slow journey through loss, where time does not console but settles. The song moves between suspended dynamics, sharp riffs, and hypnotic melodies, with Eros Povigna’s voice tracing powerful emotional trajectories. The lyrics reflect on the existential sense of absence – a condition that constantly changes while always remaining, like a familiar and unresolved rain.

Produced and mixed by Mattia Miniati, Eons is the second single from The Valley’s upcoming project and marks a fundamental step in the band’s musical narrative.

Alt rock favorites YELLOWCARD are celebrating the announcement of their new album Better Days by releasing the lead single and title track “Better Days” along with album track “honestly i.” Better Days is the band’s first full feature length album in almost a decade and will be available on October 10th. This highly anticipated album is produced as well as executive produced by Travis Barker. Barker also plays drums on every song.

The single “Better Days” is an unflinching reflection on gratitude, forgiveness, perspective, and purpose. Once ubiquitous on MTV and the Billboard Hot 100, the Vans Warped Tour veterans, whose first two albums produced double-platinum and gold title tracks, sound fully recharged and revitalized in 2025. William Ryan Key, Sean Mackin, Ryan Mendez, and Josh Portman have never sounded stronger.  The song “Better Days” is also accompanied by a music video that has the guys depicting iconic 80’s movie characters performing in a vintage video shop. Directed by Jordan Phoenix, the video is a refection of how much fun the guys are having this time around as a band and with their music.  Ryan Key says, “We are focused on this chapter of our career being about happiness.
This is the most fun we’ve had making a video in 20 years and we hope everyone has a smile on their face when they watch it.”
The band agreed that making a new album was pointless unless it was the best of their career.   They refused to rush the process and for the first time gave themselves permission to ask for help.  Ryan Mendez invited his long time friend Nick Long into the writing sessions and it was through Long that Barker became part of the project, coming on board to play drums and produce the whole ablum.

“I started the record as one version of myself and came out the other side changed,” says front man Ryan Key who credits Barker with a significant impact on his personal and creative studio breakthroughs. “I went in knowing I needed help.  I came out of it writing songs like I was 19 again.”

Formed in Jacksonville FL in 1997, Yellowcard became one of the most influential bands in the 2000’s alternative rock scene. Known for blending high energy pop punk with a signature violin twist, their 2003 breakthrough Ocean Avenue is certified Platinum with the title track now certified 2 times platinum. With over 4 million albums sold worldwide and over 1 billion streams, the band is poised for continued success on this new endeavor. After disbanding in 2017, Yellowcard reunited in 2022 entering into a new creative era and a year packed with a global tour to support it.

About Yellowcard

Yellowcard meant it when they said goodbye. The lights dimmed on one of the most beloved pop-punk and alt-rock bands of the 2000s with intention and authenticity. Wrapping things up with a farewell tour, Yellowcard exited the “right” way, with grace, appreciation, and finality.

But the story wasn’t complete. Legacy cracked the door. Healing blew it wide open. Riding a resurgence that saw the global Ocean Avenue 20th anniversary tour featured in Forbes and a reconciliation that put all four members at peace with their legacy and each other, Yellowcard just made the most ambitious and emotionally resonant record of their career. Better Days, the band’s first album in nearly a decade, was produced by blink-182’s Travis Barker, who also played drums on every track.

Their first release with powerhouse label Better Noise Music, Better Days is Yellowcard’s testimony that healing is a process, growth is nonlinear, and sometimes the best chapter opens after the supposed ending. This isn’t just a return. It’s a reckoning. And this time, Yellowcard is ready.
