Italy’s WASTE CULT have unleashed their new single “The Warmest Shelter”, the third preview from their upcoming debut album “Blame”, out June 6th, 2025 via Aesthetic Death. Marking a shift in tone from the darker, more introspective cuts previously released, this new track channels a warmer, groovier energy, without sacrificing the band’s signature weight and grit.
Built around hypnotic riffs and a swaggering rhythmic pulse, “The Warmest Shelter” brings a dynamic sense of movement to the album’s overarching atmosphere of tension and collapse.
Emerging from Bologna’s underground scene in 2021, WASTE CULT continue to refine their blend of doom, stoner and post-metal with each release. “The Warmest Shelter” adds yet another layer to the rich and punishing soundscape of their forthcoming full-length.
1 – Ad Astra 2 – Delirium Of Manners 3 – Blame 4 – Blended As One 5 – Kerberos 6 – Pictures 7 – The Warmest Shelter 8 – Maze
WASTE CULT started in Bologna – Italy in late 2021, with all members having experience with other punk/thrash metal projects, including Rake-Off, Hyle, Siege Stompers, Call The Cops…
The aim for WASTE CULT has been to create different sounds and atmospheres to those other projects – exploring a slower doomier approach to their sound. In mid 2022 they self-released an eponymous 4-track EP on tape, and on the back of that started playing shows across Italy.
The first full length – “Blame” – is the characterisation of all their different influences, with a more defined identity – taking inspiration from the doom classics to the more modern post-metal sounds. This reality took shape after years experimenting in the practice room, with “Blame” bearing witness to a more introspective and personal approach within both the music and lyrics.
Aesthetic Death has always been a fan of stoner doom sounds and, like many, was schooled on the likes of Kyuss, Monster Magnet and Black Sabbath. Yet, Aesthetic Death has rarely had opportunity to work on any release with bands from these lands of sound.
When first listening to WASTE CULT it instantly resonated. Albums can become a soundtrack to a period of our lives, as an immersive escape alongside all the positive or negative things happening.

PATRIARCHS IN BLACK release “The Call”, the first pre-release single from the upcoming studio album ‘Home’ (out August 15th on Metalville).
Dan Lorenzo explains about “The Call”: “Last summer I was driving in my car and a riffpopped into my head. I got home and went upstairs to my loftand figured it out and quickly finished the rest of the music. Johnny Kelly recorded the drums and I asked John JD Deservio fromBlack Label Society to play bass guitar. I had my own melody, butKarl Agell ( COC Blind) told me to give him some time. Hehad lyrics and melody brewing. It took him a few months to send usthe vocals, but the wait was worth it!We are very proud “The Call” is our first single for the new album.”
Former Type O Negative/Danzig drummer Johnny Kelly and guitarist and riff writer Dan Lorenzo (Hades/Non-Fiction) founded PATRIARCHS IN BLACK at the end of 2021. Their debut single ‘Demon of Regret’ was released in January 2022 and the full album ‘Reach For The Scars’ was released in July 2022. Their second album ‘My Veneration’ was released in October 2023, followed by ‘Visioning’ in July 2024.
As with their previous releases, Dan and Johnny managed to secure some outstanding artists as guest musicians for their 4th longplayer ‘Home’.
Dan Lorenzo says about “Home”: “Did you ever see the movie Groundhog Day? Bill Murray is forced to live the same dayover-and-over. How boring, right? I love pizza, but I don’t want to eat it every meal. With our new albumyou will find our “usual” doomy riffs, but we also took some chances. There’s acoustic guitars, violin, flute and of course lots of heavy riffs. Diversity. It keeps things interesting.
I picked the title “Home” because as much as I love to travel, it’s always nice to come home.Johnny’s mom died last year. Some would say the Lord took her Home.Johnny and I recorded 17 new songs, but we couldn’t fit them all on this album. We are honored that some of the best vocalists and bassists worked with us to lend their talents. We hope you love PATRIARCHS IN BLACK “Home”.”

J.B.O. the self-proclaimed ‘defenders of nonsense,’ serve the first slug from their upcoming album “Haus Of The Rising Fun” today. Living in a world turning faster than you can even follow, the Franconians look back on the ‘good ol’ times’ with their single ‘Ka-Fump!,’ which invites fans to the band’s new record, due out on January 9, 2026 through new label partner PERCEPTION. The song originates in Shania Twain’s world-wide known track ‘Ka-Ching!’ but comes along in a unique pink wrapping as it can only be created by J.B.O.
They rejoice: “‘Ka-Fump!’ In neo-German, the opening sound of a beer bottle would be described as ‘satisfying.’ We’ve reflected on why it is like that and which emotions it provokes, resulting in the lyrics of this song. Or as we’re used to say in Franconia: ‘Let’s go and have a party!’”
The accompanying music video guides the audience deep into Franconian undergrowth where the group — Veit, Hannes, Ralph & Wolfram — have embarked on an almost endless quest for well-deserved after-work beers. At the end of this adventurous trip, J.B.O. are finally rewarded by the Holy Hop Grail – presented by a very special guest. Who that is? Find out here:
The creational period of J.B.O.’s ‘pink light district’ opus is almost over, and more details can be expected very soon. Until then: cheers!

Heavy guitars and German lyrics combined with Franconian sense for nonsense don’t work? Way off the mark! Since 1989, J.B.O. have multiply proven that they’re the real masters of comedy metal – over the course of 14 studio albums to be concrete. Additionally awarded with two gold records, the quartet are mostly known for covering hit songs by artists of different genres, giving them a unique twist through re-written lyrics with an extra portion of humour.
Their original tracks shouldn’t remain unnoticed nevertheless since they also popularise with not minor jocular lyrical content. Fan favourites such as ‘Ein guter Tag zum Sterben’ [‘A Good Day To Die’] are classics of the band’s repertoire and vital parts of each and every J.B.O. concert.
From die-hard old-school metalheads to families and kids and fans beyond the hard’n’heavy boundaries: Their wide range of musical inspiration has resulted in an equally varied amount of followers which sees J.B.O. unite all sorts of people under their multicoloured musical roof and especially in front of the stages, making them even more outstanding amidst the heavily crowded world of artists out there.
Though never intended to leave the studio, Thy Catafalque has grown into a soaring – and roaring – live act. Tamás Kátai and his ever-expanding cast of collaborators are performing at Hellfest, Rockstadt Extreme, Alcatraz and other European festivals this summer before embarking on their first-ever tour of Latin America.
“This is a massive step-up for Thy Catafalque”, Kátai says. “We are very excited to play for our fans in places where we’ve never gone before”.
As they prepare to light up the world stage, today, Thy Catafalque are releasing a live video from last year’s hometown performance of the heaviest song off their dreamy twelfth album.
The video for “Vasgyár”was recorded on November 23, 2024at Dürer Kert, Budapest, Hungary.

XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek (The Beautiful Dreams Are Yet to Come) is out now on Season of Mist.
As the main conductor behind Thy Catafalque, Tamás Kátai has journeyed far beyond his humble beginnings during the late ’90s. But “Vasgyár” ties to his past in more ways than one. Not only does the song gets its name from the rusted-out ironworks that once fueled the Hungarian economy. Its steaming blast beats and blackened chug call back to the ashen pyres that forged Thy Catafalque’s initial offerings.
And yet – Thy Catafalque’s twelfth album only goes to show how far this one-time studio project has come. Joined by the fearsome growls of Zoltán Kónya, along with many other familiar faces from across his avant-garde discography, last year, Kátai performed “Vasgyár” for a sold-out crowd at Dürer Kert, which remains one of Hungary’s most influential underground venues. As spacey synth and a stirring violin solo weave as one with the track’s heavy bass line, it’s clear to everyone watching that Thy Catafalque are still progressing to new heights.

New fans and long-time appreciators can now rediscover just how much Thy Catafalque has grown.
This month, Season of Mist is repressing Rengeteg. Thy Catafalque’s fifth album is the first to fully expand far beyond black metal with proggy keyboard, clean vocals and death metal riffing.
The fourth repressing includes four bonus tracks and is available on black and forest green vinyl.
Season of Mist will reissue Rengeteg on May 30, 2025.
Tamás Kátai has a vision that extends beyond borders and boundaries. Even during its infancy, Thy Catafalque had already outgrown the rather rigid guidelines of black metal. Though only intended for the studio, over the past 20 years, his recording project has evolved into a lively collaboration. With each album, Thy Catafalque has pushed the envelope of extreme metal a step further, bringing the world’s most vile art form into conversation with the avant-garde.
Thy Catafalque’s twelfth album is even more expansive, but XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek ties both to its mastermind’s past and the history of his native Hungary. “For this album, I felt it was time to move in a different direction, whatever that direction might be”, Kátai says, “but XII still possesses the dreaminess that I’ve always associated with Thy Catafalque”.
Of course, Kátai hasn’t been mulling over this album for too long. Keeping in line with his prolific pace, XII arrives just one year after his previous album. Named after the stretch of land where the producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist was born in southeast Hungary, Alföld returned to the heaviness from which Thy Catafalque took root during the late ’90s. Once again, Kátai set out to make a straightforward metal record, but while there’s plenty of cause for chest-pounding, A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek ended up taking him on another surreal headtrip.
“I think of this album as an introspective journey through the night”, Kátai says. Opener “Piros kocsi, fekete éj” (which in English means “Red Carriage, Black Night”) glides off through a warm mist of piping keys, led by twin engine guitars that crest with reverb. “Time clatters on the rails”. Attila Bakos sings in Hungarian. His voice beams over the airwaves with the same clean force as 15 years ago, when he helped lift Thy Catafalque out of the Hungarian underground on the recently reissued Róka hasa rádió.
“Attila also sang on Rengeteg“, Kátai remembers about the first Thy Catafalque album that he wrote and recorded by himself. “‘Piros kocsi, fekete éj’ has the same sense for melody. It opens the album with a feeling of nostalgia”.
Of course, many other familiar faces join Kátai on his journey. After all, Thy Catafalque started as a duo with János Juhász. A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek features the biggest guest list in the project’s long discography. More than 20 guest musicians appear on this album, including old friends from inside and outside the Hungarian metal scene. Martina Veronika Horváth — whose band The Answer Lies in the Black Void toured Europe with Thy Catafalque earlier in 2024 — duets with the tender brooding Gábor Dudás for a faithful rendition of “Lydiához”, a 1980 Sebő ensemble classic that sowed the seeds for Hungary’s roots revival.
“That is a song that’s been with me and the rest of my generation ever since we were children”, Kátai says. Violins, cello, clarinet and other classical instruments add to the comforts of home. Before it drifts off high beyond the clouds, “Vakond” strings along like a whistling stroll across The Great Plains. “Alföld was very bleak”, he continues. “Adding classical and acoustic instruments helped add a spring of color and an air of adventure to these new songs”.
Still, A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek can be a hard road — especially during its crushing middle section. Despite the gentle opening plucks, “Mindenevő” crashes down like a boulder, hurtling ahead at terrifying speed behind doomy operatic backing vocals, mechanized blast beats and the eerie fires of tremolo picking that forged Thy Catafalque’s debut Sublunary Tragedies. “This album still has plenty of metal”, Kátai assures.
The heaviest moments are often grounded in Hungary’s history. While colored by nostalgia, XII is also shadowed by the ticking hands of time, a theme that ripples back to 2021’s Vadak. Blackened chugger “Vasgyár” shares a namesake with the rusted-out ironworks that once fueled the country’s economy. It’s not a political statement, but the song does reflect how the landscape has changed to the eye of the now 48-year-old Kátai.
“Even the album’s visuals are from a bygone era”, he says. In the video for its title track, closing song and lead single, Kátai doesn’t just run through the streets of his hometown. Surreal scenes from the past and present linger along his winding path through the placid countryside. Watching his doppelgänger dig his own grave feels like a living nightmare. “‘This song comes from a place of desperation”, he says. “Within the afterglow of nostalgia, there’s also the chill of disappointment”.
Ultimately, the progressive flair that has come to define Thy Catafalque shines through the darkness on album twelve. Only this time around, in order to reach the light at the end of the tunnel, Kátai needed some guidance. “I felt like the production had largely been the same since Geometria“, he admits. XII marks the first time in the project’s history that he worked with an outside producer. Granted, Gábor Vári is no stranger to how his mind works. When he’s not holed away in the studio with other prominent Hungarian metal bands, Gábor could be seen hammering away at his guitar on stage with Thy Catafalque on the live album Mezolit. “He was the perfect person to help give this album a somewhat different sound that is still familiar”.
As a result, “A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek” stands out as one of Thy Catafalque’s biggest crowd pleasers, uplifted by hand claps and catchy, fist-pumping riffs. Even the dark waves of synth glow with the reassurance of the dawn. “At the end, there’s still hope for a future that might offer warmer days after the darkness has ceded”.
Thy Catafalque’s twelfth album looks back longingly at the past, Tamás Kátai isn’t stopping to smell the roses. With A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek, he shows that the beautiful dreams are yet to come.

Best known for being the frontman of the legendary Hard Rock band ANGEL, who were discovered (similarly to VAN HALEN) by KISS bass player Gene Simmons and signed to Casablanca Records. With that label ANGEL released 5 critically acclaimed studio and one live album in the second half of the 70’s before disbanding and being resurrected by both DiMino and Punky Meadows in 2018. After the band’s initial break up, Dimino went on to work with UFO’s Paul Raymond and worked as a singer for Soundtracks, scoring a Platinum album for the inclusion of his Cycle V song “Seduce Me Tonight” on the “Flashdance” soundtrack.
Frank Dimino released his first solo project Old Habits Die Hard in 2015, a fine Melodic Hard Rock album which saw him collaborate with some heavyweights of the Vegas music scene where he currently resides. Under the production of Paul Crook (MEAT LOAF), Old Habits Die Hard sees the participation, among others, Oz Fox (STRYPER), Eddie Ojeda (TWISTED SISTER), Rickey Medlocke (BLACKFOOT, LYNYRD SKYNYRD), Jeff Duncan (ARMORED SAINT), and former ANGEL bandmates Punky Meadows (on guitar) and Barry Brandt (co-writing with Frank the song” Even Now”).
Watch video for “Never Enough”:
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary, it is now being remastered and repackaged with the bonus acoustic track “Even Now” and liner notes by rock journalist Dave Reynolds. It will be available for the first time on 180g White Vinyl and as a 6-Panel Digipak on June 6th. DiMino explains the origins of the album “Ken Ciancimino as executive producer and Paul Crook as the musical producer is the reason I did a solo album. Having Oz Fox and Jeff LaBansky to collaborate with was so inspirational and the reason for writing all new songs for the album. I’m so thankful to all the musicians and friends that played on this album. Everyone working together on this project is what made this album so special and that’s what makes it so worth it!”

Time To Kill Records is proud to announce that “Sorrow Will Drown Us All”, the third full-length album from Michigan-based death metal crew RECORRUPTOR, will be released on July 18th, 2025.
Marking a major milestone in the band’s evolution, this new chapter is a towering display of modern death metal – razor-sharp, relentlessly aggressive and deeply focused in its execution.
Crafted with unwavering dedication, “Sorrow Will Drown Us All” channels RECORRUPTOR’s signature blend of technical precision and crushing brutality into a tightly wound storm of riffs and bleak atmospheres. Every track is built for maximum impact: no filler, no compromise. The result is an album that not only reinforces the band’s place in the contemporary death metal scene, but also expands their sonic reach with a darker, more mature intensity. Prepare for one of the most uncompromising releases of the year.
“‘An Unnatural Lust’ is a bloody tale of a diseased mind that finds himself rather disgusting… a sentiment some may understand, but not to this degree. Apotemnophilia is a psychological disease that instills the insatiable desire to amputate one’s body parts, and ‘An Unnatural Lust’ details this grim case quite graphically”.
Tracklist:
1. Bathe in the Ashes of Heaven 2. Sorrow Will Drown Us All 3. Bearing the Befouled Spawn 4. Within the Vault 5. Urn of Verglas 6. Envenoming 7. An Unnatural Lust 8. Devoured by Centipedes 9. Insidious Rot 10. Putrid Aberration of Malevolent Divinity 11. Death at the Hands of His Image 12. Scourge of Prometheus (Ft. Enrico H. Di Lorenzo of Hideous Divinity)
Born from a relentless need for speed and a commitment to preserving pure, unfiltered riff-driven death metal, RECORRUPTOR has carved out a name for themselves through explosive live performances and unflinching intensity. Since their formation in 2016, the Michigan-based band has released two full-length albums — “Bloodmoon” (2017) and “The Funeral Corridor” (2020) — both of which paved the way for extensive regional touring and support slots alongside genre titans such as Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Morbid Angel, and Cattle Decapitation. Refining their sound with each release, RECORRUPTOR entered the studio in 2023 to record what stands as their most focused and ferocious effort to date: “Sorrow Will Drown Us All”. A culmination of years spent sharpening their craft, the new album captures the band at their most precise, punishing, and unapologetically extreme.
