DISCIPLES OF VERITY Release New Single + Lyric Video ‘In My Eyes’

Disciples of Verity, fronted by the iconic singer Corey Glover of Living Colour, have unleashed their brand-new single, “In My Eyes,” along with an accompanying lyric video. The track is available now via TLG | ZOID, with distribution through Virgin Music Group.

The track is the latest preview from their highly anticipated sophomore album, NEXUS, produced by George Pond and co-produced by Sahaj Ticotin (RA).

Corey Pierce states, “’In My Eyes’ is a song about the ways our personal and shared perspectives shape how we interpret life’s daily struggles—both the ones we face now and the ones we hope to avoid in the future. It speaks to the deeply personal battles we experience, the hopes we hold for ourselves and our loved ones, and the vision of a better future we long to see realized. At its core, the song is about finding unity, empathy, and closure by learning to see the world through the eyes of others. ‘In my eyes’ is a way of illustrating our need for partnership and community through shared experiences.”

“In My Eyes” is now available on all major streaming platforms, and the accompanying lyric video can be viewed on the band’s official YouTube channel.

Fueled by an insatiable urge to create and collaborate, this heavy metal incarnation seeks to challenge all that they believe to be true with their project, Disciples of Verity (DOV). The band features heavy-hitters such as Corey Glover (Living Colour), Corey Pierce (God Forbid), George Pond (Negative Sky, Swim The Current), Mark Monjoy (Sekond Skyn), and Zack Miranowic (Sekond Skyn, Riversend). This all-star band unleashes an onslaught to the senses with a new sound that can only be described as “a new breed of crossover Metal.”

The band formed just over four years ago after mutual projects brought the five members together. With Pond as the common denominator, having played with each of these artists throughout his career, his songs with Corey Glover were quickly embraced by the others, which evolved into their debut album, Pragmatic Sanction.

Over the next eight months, DOV feverishly cranked out eight heavy, hook-laden songs with one distinct element—their infectious, melodic grooves. Ranging from Hardcore, Metalcore and even Active Rock, the band knew that their debut would be like nothing else in the industry and brought in a veritable “who’s who” of the hard rock and metal industry to up the ante.

Four years have passed since the release of their first single from Pragmatic Sanction. However, now comes the dawn of a new age. They have been quietly working on 12 new tracks for their sophomore album titled NEXUS. The band worked with producer Sahaj Ticcotin, who has worked with Starset, Motley Crue, RA, Bad Wolves, and many more. This monster of a record is set to be released in 2025 through TLG/ZOID, and distributed through Virgin Music Group.

MASS PUNISHMENT Drop New Video ‘Enemy Within’

U.S. extreme metal juggernaut Mass Punishment has unleashed the official music video for their track “Enemy Within”, taken from their acclaimed album Proving Grounds Devastation, out now via Wormholedeath Records.

Stream the single: https://orcd.co/enemywithinre – Premiered exclusively by NO CLEAN SINGING

Filmed on a raw, guerrilla-style budget and directed by Marc Petrick, Enemy Within marks the band’s first professionally shot music video. With makeup by Morgan Milos and additional acting talent, the video follows frontman Maverick through an increasingly volatile day, from receiving eviction notices to engaging in street scuffles with extremist protesters. Pushed beyond the edge, he snaps — unleashing brutal revenge in a climactic return to the bar. The final minute reveals a furious, stripped-down band performance, sealing the track’s emotional and sonic devastation.

Formed by guitarist Christopher Milos after returning from combat in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Mass Punishment channels real-life intensity into their unrelenting sound. The band — completed by vocalist Erick, drummer Brian Donat, and bassist Kyle Yannon — blends military precision with underground ferocity.

With influences spanning Pantera, Slayer, Megadeth, Slipknot, and beyond, Mass Punishment is a sonic assault rooted in unity, resistance, and survival. The band name itself — taken from military jargon — underscores their philosophy: “If one of us fails, we all fail.”

They’ve previously shared the stage with GWAR, Emmure, Agnostic Front, and more — earning their place among the next wave of heavy music’s uncompromising voices.

Are you ready to rock? Something colossal is coming…

Baest are back, with a new sound and a badass attitude. Over the last decade, the Danish quintet have become one of the most celebrated and respected death metal bands in Europe. Their reign of terror began with debut album Danse Macabre, which emerged to great acclaim in 2019. Since then, the Danes have been relentless. Subsequent albums Venenum (2019) and Necro Sapiens (2021) cemented their reputation as extreme metal mavericks with an ear for lethal hooks, while their passionate dedication to playing live enabled them to spread the word at shows and festivals around the world.

But things are slightly changing with album number 4: Colossal. Pieced together in the aftermath of Covid lockdowns, and fine-tuned over the last couple of years, the new Baest album is an absolute monster. The new songs are still rooted in the belligerent death metal that informed previous records, but Colossal represents a wholesale transformation. Inspired by and infused with old school, classic metal riffs and a giant helping of rock ‘n’ roll bombast, Baest have written an album that delights in the glory of heavy metal and the fine art of rocking out. Bursting at the seams with catchy riffs and classy melodies, with stylistic salutes to everyone from Ozzy Osbourne and Dokken, through to Iron Maiden and Whitesnake, this is the magnificent rock ‘n’ roll rebirth of Baest.

“We went on tour with the Krisiun guys a couple of years back, and every soundcheck they were playing ZZ Top songs,” says Baest guitarist Svend Karlsson. “Everyone in the venue was rocking out, you know? So let’s rock! As a band, you have to mature a little and figure out that you have to write songs for yourself, and that way of thinking has brought the best out of us. When we talked to Tue about it, we called it ‘Ozzy death metal’. It’s really exciting to see what people think. We’re looking forward to people hearing this album. We released two singles last year that were in a different direction, but the fans haven’t heard the Dokken stuff yet! [Laughs]”

From the explosive assault of the opening Stormbringer, the new Baest album is an electrifying dose of the good stuff. Produced by the legendary Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studio in Denmark, Colossal never bends to current trends. Instead, this is a thrilling celebration of heavy metal, played with extreme metal intensity. Vocalist Simon Olsen has evolved into a truly formidable frontman, with a vastly expanded array of shouts and growls, and his band mates – Karlsson, guitarist Lasse Revsbech, bassist Mattias Melchiorsen and drummer Sebastian Abildsten – have grown in power and stature. As Karlsson explains, this change of direction was simply about Baest being true to themselves.

“We began the process during Covid, and we found out that we needed to do something that everyone thought was fun,” he states. “Then we tried to zoom in on what makes different songs fun. On the first EP, before we signed to Century Media, there is a lot of melodic rock ‘n’ roll stuff. I think it’s there because we hadn’t learned yet to do more death metal riffs, so those were the riffs that Lasse and I had from our upbringing. This time, we turned back to all of those kinds of riffs, being influenced by Zakk Wylde and Jake E. Lee, Accept, Metallica and all that kind of stuff. We figured that if it’s fun and we enjoy playing it, then it’s going to fit! We finally had the guts to try it, and not to worry about what the death metal fans are going to think.”

Although they may anticipate a backlash from death metal purists, Baest are confident that their evolution will be well received. With songs ranging from the anthemic ‘80s metal fury of the title track, and the brutal rock squall of King Of The Sun (featuring a cameo from D-A-D’s Jesper Binzer), to the progressive, true metal avalanche of epic closer Depraved World, Colossal takes Baest back to the essence of their craft.

“When we wrote Depraved World, that’s a riff from when Lasse was 14 years old,” says Karlsson. “He said, ‘I’ve got this riff!’ and we were like, ‘Let’s do an Iron Maiden death metal song!’ [Laughs] It’s so much fun, because it’s long and so different. The headline for the whole album is that it’s different, it’s catchy, and it’s rock ‘n’ roll. Rock ‘n’ roll vibes, but in the aggressive form of extreme metal. This is our first time working with Tue Madsen, and he’s a no-bullshit kind of guy. He’s been in the industry for so many records and with so many different bands, so he’s like, ‘Fuck what people think! Let’s do what seems fun and what sounds catchy!’”

2024 saw the release of two singles from Colossal: the viciously catchy Imp Of The Perverse, and the aforementioned Colossus. Both were rapturously received, and generated a lot of excitement about Baest’s next move. Now that they have the new music in the can, Svend Karlsson and his comrades are brimming with confidence and commitment to the heavy metal cause. Armed with songs that are guaranteed to send metal crowds into a joyous frenzy, Denmark’s smartest death metal band are perfectly placed to conquer the entire world.

“I think we needed to figure out that we were okay with being a heavy metal band,” Karlsson shrugs. “There are also a lot of progressive elements to the record, that we started developing on the Justitia EP. That’s when we realised that it works live, and people really like the Ozzy riffs! So let’s do some more! We played a new, unreleased song on the last tour. Nobody had heard it before, but instantly everyone started clapping along and jumping and having fun. Everybody wants to party, right?”

SELIAS Sign with Wormholedeath, Heavy-Hitting Album “Killkarma” Out November 7th

Canadian-based melodic death-metal force SELIAS has joined forces with Wormholedeath to unleash their second full-length album, Killkarma, set for worldwide release on November 7, 2025.

Founded in 2020 by guitarist Steve Elias, SELIAS combines melodic death metal with groove and alt metal elements. Their sound is heavy and cinematic, built on aggressive riffs, heavy and melodic vocals, and atmospheric textures.

The band’s lineup includes vocalist Guillaume Pascual, whose blend of guttural growls, soaring clean vocals, and ambient keys adds emotional range; Daniel Bouwman on hard-hitting drums; Jeff Hyde anchoring the sound with melodic, heavy bass lines; and Steve Elias, the band’s architect, with intricate, commanding guitar work. Together, they forge a sound that’s both emotionally resonant and relentlessly heavy.

After their debut HEADSHOT, Killkarma marks a darker, more emotionally intense chapter for SELIAS. The album merges crushing riffs, moody synths, and raw vocals into a tightly crafted, immersive metal experience.

“With Killkarma, we wanted to sharpen our sound and push every element further—heavier riffs, deeper atmosphere, and more intensity across the board,” says guitarist and founder Steve Elias. “It’s the most focused we’ve ever been.”

Fans are already getting a preview of what’s to come. SELIAS has been showcasing new material from Killkarma on their multiple 2025 Canadian tours, delivering high-octane performances complete with immersive lighting, smoke effects, and dramatic synth moments that elevate their already intense live presence.

Musically, SELIAS draws influence from bands like In Flames, Soilwork, Rammstein, and Orbit Culture, offering a sound that balances melodic brutality with cinematic depth. The album promises to be an emotionally charged and unapologetically heavy statement from one of Canada’s rising metal acts. A sure not to miss for 2025 and 2026.

MELANIE’s ‘Roots of Stone’ Is a Post-Prog Masterpiece… with Bubbles

For almost two years, Cleopatra Records have been exploring the vast corpus of unreleased songs and recordings delivered to them by Woodstock legend Melanie in the months before her passing in January 2024.

Some of the material had been circulated on the bootleg underground; some was at least rumored to exist among the fans.  But one song caught everybody by surprise, an hitherto unknown, almost 10 minute opus titled “Roots of Stone,” recorded by Melanie and husband/producer Peter Schekeryk around 1973-74.

Melanie was no stranger to long form recordings. Working on her 1972 album Stoneground Words, she fully intended opening the record with a single side-long song, “Together Alone.”  That idea, sadly, fell by the wayside before recording began.  But a year or so later, she and her band did lay down a marathon 27 minute version of “Hearing The News” (available now on Cleopatra licensee Easy Action’s restoration of her lost Autumn Lady LP). “We obviously weren’t renting the studio by the hour that day,” she joked upon hearing it again in 2023.

“Roots of Stone,” however, was a very different creation, a musical Frankenstein which married a characteristically beautiful Melanie vocal and lyric with a sometimes eerie, oft-times soaring, and evocatively wordless vocal passage.

Spellbinding and breathtaking, the recording also serves as a reminder of the battles that Melanie was forced to fight as her career moved through the 1970s, and she worked to match her musical ambitions with the demands of the record labels and distributors that insisted she forever more remain the hippy chick bicycle song girl of her early 70s renown.

That was why neither “Together Alone” or “Hearing The News” made it out in their intended form; that was why “Roots of Stone” never saw the light of day.

Melanie, 1974 (photo Barry Plummer)

Melanie’s original, largely acoustic, take of the song was finally unveiled earlier this year on Cleopatra’s rarities collection Lay Your Hands Across The Six Strings. But everyone who heard it agreed, it not only deserved a broader palette, it demanded one.

Enter, then, The Bubble, northern Delaware experimental psychedelic space rockers who might just be the closest we’ve come to exploring deepest space since the golden age of 50s b-flicks.  And Melanie goes all the way with them.

First conceived by multi-instrumentalist Steve Zimmerman in the early 1990s, The Bubble emerged in 2022 with a debut album, Swimming, built around material written and recorded across the intervening three decades… “a spiraling album,” said It’s Psychedelic Baby magazine, “that pulls from psych landmarks as filtered through Zimmerman’s vision.”

Psychedelic Scene added, “The use of sound samples on this project is vibrant and fresh, and this is exactly when this album is at its strongest—with birds squawking, sirens wailing, jazz horns deconstructing the melody, an orchestra building intensely or falling apart, cherry bombs exploding, and abrasive synthesizers blending themselves together in chaotic haze between two verses.”

HEAR THE BUBBLE HERE: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0q68G6VGLN4aZ23t7FF1hB

All of which comes to bear upon “Roots of Stone,” and Melanie seldom sounded so perfectly at home.

“Getting the opportunity to shape, craft and ultimately finish this beautiful unfinished lost relic was incredible,” says Zimmerman. “The finished product is extremely layered, much like a tapestry, and I hope she would’ve enjoyed it as much as we did!”

If a hard-edged Curved Air met a less than Gentle Giant, it might echo something like this. If the old Vertigo swirl label was miked for sound, it might make you feel like this does.  If Pink Floyd and Hawkwind had shared a space suit, this is what it might have looked like. But, most of all, if the furthest pastures of modern prog were bathed in the elixirs of an old time stoned-immaculate freak-out… well, that sums it all up very well.

The Bubble (photo courtesy Steve Zimmerman)

And so does the accompanying video, a psychedelic extravaganza that captures not only the textures and atmosphere with which The Bubble imbibed Melanie’s original demo, but also those that Melanie and Schekeryk visualized during the original sessions.

She was never, after all, the whimsical bubble [pun intended] gum popster that the media portrayed; nor the lachrymose singer-songwriter that the fondue-and-cocktails thought she ought to become.  On almost every album, and certainly in the notebooks where she kept her song and lyric ideas, Melanie was constantly pushing musical boundaries, and crashing through lyrical parameters as well.

Maybe “Roots of Stone” was considered a step too far at the time.  But today, it also feels like a giant leap in the right direction.

Melanie truly did possess roots of stone.
