June 6, 2025 will see the German iconic black/death metal duo MYSTIC CIRCLE release an extended new edition of “Kriegsgötter MMXXV” via ROAR, featuring 8 tracks and furious cover versions of classics such as from BATHORY, CELTIC FROST, POSSESSED, ACHERON, or the previously-released, completely re-recorded cover version of IRON MAIDEN‘s “Afraid To Shoot Strangers”.

On selected tracks, the band welcomes back British soprano Sarah Jezebel Deva on guest vocals, who has already made guest appearances with CRADLE OF FILTH, THE KOVENANT and THERION, among others. The track “Cry Little Sister” also features Karo Hafke, singer of the dark wave gothic band Umbra Et Imago. Pre-order your album copy now on: https://mysticcircle.rpm.link/krieg

Today, MYSTIC CIRCLE have unleashed a new single taken off “Kriegsgötter MMXXV”, their blistering cover version of the BATHORY classic “One Rode To Asa Bay“!

Listen now on all digital streaming services at: https://mysticcircle.rpm.link/ortabPR

“One Rode To Asa Bay“ is a track from the fifth BATHORY album „Hammerheart“, which is a favourite of us two,” A. Blackwar reveals. “The band was a huge influence for us back then, but also today. You hear that in our early works and in general for our love of atmospheric parts. When Sarah heard the song in the studio, she went to the cabin and started to sing – which wasn’t planned at all. We looked at each other with a devilish smile in our face and said: that was the missing part! This song is pure epic!”

Let’s go back a quarter of a century to the year 2000: MYSTIC CIRCLE were at their peak at the time after the release of their third studio epic “Infernal Satanic Verses” and were rightly regarded as Germany’s leading black metal band. In the summer after the turn of the millennium, the Ludwigshafen-based band followed up with the 5-track EP “Kriegsgötter II”, a compilation of cover versions and new recordings. However, the founding line-up broke up during this phase and A. Blackwar left the band. Only his return in 2020 and the reunion with vocalist Beelzebub conjured up the spirit of that time again, resulting in the two great new records “Mystic Circle” (2022) and “Erzdämon” (2023), closing the infamous circle (or pentagram?) again.

“It was inevitable for me to end my time with MYSTIC CIRCLE with “Kriegsgötter II”. The long break was necessary, we lost the connection to each other back then – which is stronger than ever today,” summarizes A. Blackwar and looks back with a teary eye, but also with a smile, because as so often in life, everything happens for a reason.

From the depths of Tokyo’s darkest alleys, DEFILED have emerged once again, claws sharpened, eyes bloodshot, ready to unleash a fresh dose of unadulterated savagery with their latest full-length studio album, Horror Beyond Horror. Marrying the grotesque with technical prowess, these samurais of sickness are poised to carve another notch into the archives of death metal’s sordid history.

Since crawling from the primordial soup of the underground scene in the early ’90s, Defiled have forged a path littered with broken souls. Their journey of destruction first sank its teeth into the international jugular with Erupted Wrath, mixed by the masterful Jim Morris in Tampa, Florida. This brutal assault opened gates to a global bloodletting, from leveling stages in South Korea to crushing skulls at the Milwaukee Metalfest, and not even the November to Dismember fest could foresee the carnage they’d bring.

Commandeering the technical tightrope between anarchy and precision, Defiled evolved, much like an aberrant spawn isolated on the Galapagos, grotesque yet ultimately superior. Their subsequent onslaughts — Ugliness Revealed, Divination, and the sheer violence of In Crisis — built a monument to atrocity that ascends to new heights with Horror Beyond Horror.

Taking no prisoners in their three-decades-long campaign of terror, Defiled have become the indestructible behemoth of Asia’s death metal scene, powered by the relentless engine of their old-school roots and the twisted wreckage of technical thrash and progressive rock innovation.

But enough with the history lesson, you came here for the carnage, didn’t you? Horror Beyond Horror is a 14-track massacre, riddled with riffs sharp enough to slit your throat and a rhythmic onslaught that’ll pulverize your pathetic bones. Each track, from the visceral “Smoke and Mirrors” to the haunting “To See Behind the Wall”, is a calculated strike, precision-engineered to leave no survivors. Let’s not forget the eponymous “Horror Beyond Horror”, a track that cements Defiled’s legacy as harbingers of the apocalypse.

With a sound as raw as exposed nerve endings and as unrefined as a mass grave, Defiled stands defiantly apart from the polished poseurs and shameless sellouts. They don’t peddle in cheap gimmickry or nostalgia; they deal in the currency of pure, unfiltered destruction. As they look out upon the charred landscape of the genre they’ve helped to define, Defiled is not content to rest on their laurels. Horror Beyond Horror sees them, once again, ascending to the blood-soaked throne of death metal sovereignty.

ROCKSTAR FRAME Join Sliptrick Records, New Single ‘Sex Toy(s)’ Out June 6th

Italian hard rock powerhouse Rockstar Frame has officially joined the international Sliptrick Records roster, kicking off this thrilling new chapter with their latest single “Sex Toy(s)” dropping worldwide on June 6, 2025.

Rockstar Frame exploded onto the scene in 2015 with their debut Rock’n’Roll Mafia (Musicarchy Media), followed by Bulletproof (2018, Musicarchy Media) and Stand Up…Jump ‘n’ Fly (2021, Volcano Records). Across three full-length albums and two globe-spanning tours, they’ve built a fierce reputation for their hard-hitting sound, blending raw Sunset Strip sleaze with irresistible hooks and sensual energy.

Fronted by charismatic vocalist Izzy Cole, with Ian Darrell and Warren De Marchi shredding on guitars, Ronam Destefani on bass, and Max Klein pounding the drums, Rockstar Frame injects fresh, rebellious blood into the hard rock scene. Influenced by legends like Guns N’ Roses, Skid Row, Mötley Crüe, and Aerosmith, they channel that timeless spirit into every riff, every lyric, and every live show.

“Sex Toy(s)” promises to be their boldest, raunchiest, and most anthemic release yet — a pure adrenaline shot of guitar-driven attitude and provocative lyrics that will leave fans breathless and hungry for more.

“We’re excited to partner with Sliptrick Records,” says Izzy Cole. “This is a new era for Rockstar Frame, and Sex Toy(s) is just the beginning. Get ready for some unapologetically sexy, loud, and powerful rock ‘n’ roll!”

PETROLBREATH Release New Energetic Piece of Metallic Rock ‘N’ Roll ‘Roadkill’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 8, 2025

Photographer: Tero Tarvainen

Petrolbreath is a power trio from East Vantaa, embarking on their journey to the core of rock ‘n’ roll in 2019. The band consists of bassist-vocalist Joni Tammenpää, guitarist Ville Panhelainen, and drummer Tuomas Patanen. Drawing influence from 1980s hard rock and heavy metal bands, the sound of Motörhead in particular echoes strongly in their music.

Their previous releases include the heavy-hitting single “Lucifer’s Wings” (2021) and the energetic and well-received EP “Spread Your Wings and Die” (2024).

Petrolbreath recently recorded new material in a fully analog format at Astia Studio, with producer Anssi Kippo at the helm. With these recordings the trio has made a leap towards the raw and authentic sound format that has shaped the soundscape of their own heroes from the eighties as well.

The first track to be released from these sessions is the single “Roadkill”, which paints a picture of a desert highway with its ominous guitar intro. The tempo subtly increases until the song erupts into a fast and thunderous sonic assault; a true Petrolbreath trademark.

Listen to the single on music services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal etc.): https://push.fm/fl/petrolbreath-roadkill – Composition and lyrics by Lassi Huotari

Like the aftermath of a car crash after a wild night with an unsatiable woman, the trip is far from over.

“Recording fully analog took us back to the soundscape of our youth – to the rawness and honesty that made us pick up instruments in the first place! Roadkill was the perfect burst of rage to launch us down this path, where we were able to capture that same energy band has playing live!”  – Petrolbreath

KING PARROT Drop New Single + Video ‘Get What Ya Given’

Posted by metalshockfinland on May 8, 2025

KING PARROT have scraped their latest single and video from the cutting room floor entitled
“Get What Ya Given”.

This latest single from their forthcoming album shows the band at their most raw and vicious. Delving deeply into grind-core and power-violence influences all while delivering it with the trademark King Parrot approach. A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot is due out on June 6.

Further to the new video King Parrot kick off their Australian album launch tour this weekend with shows in Warrnambool and Bendigo. They’ve also been added to the Acid Bath + Pentagram show in New York on July 25 at Brooklyn Paramount before joining “The Heaviest Tour of the Summer” alongside Pantera and Amon Amarth all over the US.

Listen to “GET WHAT YA GIVEN” on King Parrot Spotify.

After recently completing a monstrous 33 date tour through Europe and the UK with stadium dates alongside Pantera and Power Trip followed by a full European club tour with death metal pioneers Master, KING PARROT deliver new single “GET WHAT YA GIVEN” from their forthcoming new album ahead of their first shows on the new album launch tour Matt Young had this to say about the new single: “After experiencing the loss of 2 of my closest friends in 2023, the experience of grief and life hit not only me, but the entire band in a heavy way. We lost our greatest friend and ally Boyd Synnott in 2023 who had done several of our album and EP covers, countless art and merch ideas, as well as acting and helping produce our music videos. This loss crushed us, but also helped fan the fire and drive motivation to push forward with this new album. This song particularly deals with grief, loss and the pressure of everyday life that some find so suffocating. This is a homage to the friends we’ve lost, and to anyone who struggles with this shit. We are grateful to have heavy music as an outlet and channel to work through it all. We have the live shows to come together with our people, celebrate the music and blow off some steam, it’s a pretty damn good deal.”

Further to the release of the single, King Parrot will be launching the new record all over Australia with a swag of new dates announced all around the country kicking on Friday at The Whalers Hotel in Warrnambool and The Golden Vine Hotel in Bendigo on Saturday May 10.

A new US show alongside Acid Bath + Pentagram will take place in New York at Brooklyn Paramount on July 25 before the band join Pantera + Amon Amarth on “The Heaviest Tour of The Summer” all over the USA. A full list of the bands upcoming tour dates can be found below, with more North American dates to be announced in the coming weeks including a string of Canadian shows.

A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot marks the band’s first new output in five years. A hostile and abrasive slab of sensory destroying anthems, the record features ten thoroughly crafted blasts through the psyche of this crazed Aussie quintet. Recorded at Melbourne’s Dangertone studios with engineer Luke Walton, it’s the first full-length album since 2017’s critically adored Ugly Produce offering and their first new music since 2020’s Holed Up In The Lair EP.

Applying a similar approach to the writing process of their previous records, which has been historically organic and old-school, KING PARROT adopted a new approach to the studio process. Pulling the new record together was a meticulously creative endeavour and the final product is the most complete, aggressive, and urgent the band has ever sounded.

“A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot” will be released on June 6, 2025

  • Cover art by Herkko Lappalainen

The band’s drummer Herkko Lappalainen shares behind-the-scenes insights on the new single:

“I was sick at home and this song was born from a fever-fueled guitar jam session, which resulted in the creation of the intro riff. I thought the riff was so stupidly simple that we just had to turn it into a song. I recorded the demo on the spot, and Eetu came up with great lyrics and melodies for it. The end result was a rock’n’roll banger packed with all the essentials — shredding guitars, double bass drums, and big vocal hooks.”
