Catch My Soul is 5th and the last single from the Dead End Irony upcoming album Battles and Brotherhood to be released on end of May via Inverse Records. The song is a heavy metal ballad with a chorus bigger than the Imatra rapids. Verse comes with acoustic guitars, rhythm section is solid and guitar leads fits perfectly in the song with the powerful vocals.
The song is written by the band and it’s produced by Teemu Aalto (Insomnium, Ginger Evil, Marianas Rest).
“The song’s story about a father languishing in a prison camp and a son he never met is not only tragic but also unfortunately timely. It creates a charge in the song but also offers hope amidst the sorrow. We wanted both catchiness and a heavier rhythm in the song, and we succeeded in this with Teemu Aalto” says the band’s singer and the song’s co-lyricist, Vesa Winberg.

Ice, vengeance, and chaos—ALESTORM arrives with the first single from their upcoming album, The Thunderfist Chronicles, set for release on June 20, 2025 via Napalm Records! “Frozen Piss 2” barrels in with speedy riffs, pub-ready chanting choruses, keytar wizardry, and of course, sheer pirate madness. The track arrives with a new official music video, out today!
The Thunderfist Chronicles drops as the successor to ALESTORM’s epic seventh studio album, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, which peaked at #7 on the German Album charts and at #5 on both the US Current Hard Music and Top New Artist Albums charts, plus many more. Their eighth album appropriately contains eight new anthems packed with wild, shanty-driven melodies and utterly ridiculous lyrics—taking the high seas of metal to new depths.
After the release of last year’s Voyage of the Dead Marauder EP and extensive touring, the band is very well prepared for their next adventure. The Scottish pirate metal legends’ significant presence in the metal scene matches their ability to turn every venue into a boisterous pirate party, for which they are celebrated by their fans and recognized by the critics. Get ready to raise your tankards for their new album, The Thunderfist Chronicles, and join ALESTORM on their wildest adventure yet—louder and more raucous than ever!
Christopher Bowes about “Frozen Piss 2”: “’Frozen Piss 2’ is the first part of a trilogy of songs on the album that link together in an epic tale about a cursed treasure born of forgotten Sumerian gods, hidden beneath the streets of Bournemouth. Along with ‘The Storm’ and ‘Mega-Supreme Treasure of the Eternal Thunderfist’, it all connects up and reveals eldritch knowledge that’ll melt your brain. Enjoy the riffs and the dogs and the fantastic guest vocals from Shiori Sasaki!”
After the release of last year’s Voyage of the Dead Marauder EP and a journey of extensive touring, the pioneering pirate metal band returned to their ship and once again teamed up with Lasse Lammert of LSD-Studios (Gloryhammer, Wind Rose) for production, recording, mixing, and mastering of The Thunderfist Chronicles. The new album promises a wild ride through raging storms, absurd adventures, and epic battles across the vast ocean blue.
With explosive opener “Hyperion Omniriff”, ALESTORM unleashes a tidal wave of melodies that will sweep you off your feet, while “Killed to Death by Piracy” delivers thunderous choruses and crushing riffs worthy of the most legendary sea skirmish. Of course, no ALESTORM album would be complete without a dose of their signature humor—“Banana” is a ridiculously catchy singalong banger that will turn every concert into a drunken pirate celebration. Meanwhile, “Frozen Piss 2” is packed with icy grooves and razor-sharp wit. But it’s not all just chaos and rum-fueled madness—“The Storm” offers a dramatic, sweeping atmosphere, leading into “Mountains of the Deep”, a grandiose, anthem-filled voyage into the ocean’s depths. Then comes the Nekrogoblikon cover “Goblins Ahoy!”, a rowdy, fantasy-infused riot, before the album culminates in its climactic masterpiece: “Mega-Supreme Treasure of the Eternal Thunderfist”. This colossal, 17 minute long, over-the-top epic features heroic choirs, thundering guitars, and a swashbuckling tale that will turn every pirate into a legend.
With The Thunderfist Chronicles, ALESTORM proves yet again that they are the undisputed rulers of the seven metal seas. So, stock up on your rum—this is going to be loud, chaotic, and absolutely legendary!
Christopher Bowes on the new album: “This album is weird and full of difficult riffs that I already regret. There’s a bunch of fun things to discover on the record though – we’ve got a cover of a song by our friends in Nekrogoblikon, a whole lot of other heavy stuff, plus the longest song I’ve ever written (over 17 minutes long) which features guest vocals from Patty Gurdy (everyone’s favorite hurdy gurdy player) and Sir Russell Allen (Symphony X singer and my favorite vocalist of all time).”
Thunderfist Chronicles track listing: 1. Hyperion Omniriff 2. Killed to Death by Piracy 3. Banana 4. Frozen Piss 2 5. The Storm 6. Mountains of the Deep 7. Goblins Ahoy! 8. Mega-Supreme Treasure of the Eternal Thunderfist

AMBUSH about the new single “Evil In All Dimensions”: “Have you ever woken up in anguish from the fact that in your dream you did something terrible. Evil in All Dimensions is undeniable proof of AMBUSH’s unwavering passion and talent for the genre. Now, with Napalm Records as their partner, they are primed to take the world by storm. AMBUSH wield an arsenal of of 80s metal prowess: with whipping drums, sharp guitars, and high-pitched vocals, “Come Angel of Night” explores themes of reconciliation when the damage seems irreversible, culminating in a soaring solo that highlights the band’s musical power. Bassist Oskar Andersson hypnotizes listeners with his infectious grooves in the brooding “The Night I Took Your Life”, while “Maskinovka” features an anthemic, standout performance from vocalist Oskar Jakobssons. UK death metal goliaths CELESTIAL SANCTUARY are pleased to present their video for “Choking On The Rotten Seed.” The track comes off the band’s critically adored Visions Of Stagnant Blood EP, recently reissued by Metal Blade Records.
Comments vocalist/guitarist Thomas Cronin, “The idea behind the video was to introduce ourselves and what we’re about to people who haven’t heard our band yet, and there’s a lot of people out there who haven’t got a fucking clue who we are.
“Stylistically, we really just wanted to capture that essence and feeling of discovering your new favorite band on Headbangers Ball at 2:00am. We’re not trying to recreate any particular video or look like we’re of another era, but those videos that have stuck with us are mostly just the bands walking around the town they’re from, playing in some skanky little room or live footage of them doing their thing. Too many bands get caught in the trap of trying to create some fuckin’ viral moment or having something super polished and sleek. I have a career as a music video producer, so we could have easily gone and done something like that straight outta the gate. But we’re just not about that; our music is hard enough as it is, and we have the attitude to go with it. So why not let that shine for now?
“The history of the area we hail from was a big influence on the lyrical content on this release,” he continues, “so for the exterior shots, we didn’t just choose the coolest looking spots; each of them has a significant historical and gory importance… There’s the ruins of the Abbey of St. Edmunds (now Abbey Gardens): During a big battle in East Anglia, King Edmund was pelted with loads of arrows and then beheaded and discarded in the woods like a rotten sack of meat. Legend has it that his body was found being guarded by a wolf. Then there was The Abbey Precinct/Graveyard, which is where a ton of executions took place throughout the years, where thousands of people would come to watch for entertainment, most notably the execution of William Corder who was guilty of the ‘Red Barn Murders.’ It’s also where the executions — or should I say murders — of the witches captured by Matthew Hopkins, ‘Witchfinder General’ took place. And then there’s the last one, Skinner Street. Basically, this is the street where the butchers in the area were based. They’d dump all the ‘unused’ blood out onto the street, which has a bit of an incline, so the blood would flow down this cobbled street and pool at the bottom in the town’s jewelry quarter. So, there’s stories of people wading through stagnant blood and having to put up with the smell of rotten entrails. Half of us grew up in this town, and it’s always just seemed so normal to us – all this gory shit that’s happened over the years.”
CELESTIAL SANCTUARY‘s Visions Of Stagnant Blood EP was initially released independently in 2024. Distorted Sound called it “powerful, imposing, gory,” Metal Forces lauded a full on “bludgeoning riddled with archaic and primitive slickness and sickness,” while Noobheavy hailed “big, filthy death metal with riffs for days.”

Today, April 23, Polish alternative rockers SOUR BLOOD release a brand new song “Damaging Control” together with video done by Maciej Gensler from costamwyszlo. Song is also available for listening at popular streaming platforms. “Damaging Control” was produced by Konrad Janiszewski (Heresy Denied, Stayfires, Kansha).
Band comments: “Damaging Control deals with the ups and downs in life and psychological mechanisms such as deflection, repression, or fury. We use them to seemingly make our life easier, while more often than not, those turn out to be double-edged swords. You can also find a reference to control abuse, as well as very much weakened, but still existing power to break away from the bonds of the past to achieve a peaceful and stable tomorrow. Often, despite tarnished patience, a gnawed soul and loss of hope, we push forward. Perhaps under the next page torn from the book of life there is something more than disappointment and pain. Perhaps… there is hope.
On the other hand, not to be so damn serious all the time, we made a completely ridiculous video to place the rather morose lyrics in juxtaposition to rather funny visuals. We hope you have as much fun watching it as we had making it“.
