Italian TEARSKIN to Launch Birth of New Trauma Kei Experience with First Single ‘A•S•P•H•Y•X•I•A’, Out October 22nd

There are bands that write songs. There are bands that build an aesthetic. And then there are projects born from the necessity to transform something deeply uncomfortable into art.

Tearskin belong to the third category.

Formed in Rome, Italy, on January 16, 2026, Tearskin are an alternative death metal duo created by Fatus (vocals) and Minh (guitar). What began as a one-man project gradually evolved through an intense period of live activity, experimentation and artistic research, officially becoming a duo on August 18, 2026.

Their first official single, “A•S•P•H•Y•X•I•A”, will be released worldwide on October 22, 2026, through Wanikiya Record/Promotion, marking the beginning of a new chapter for one of the most visually distinctive emerging projects within the Italian underground.

But Tearskin are not interested in simply being another extreme metal band. They are building a world.

A SOUND THAT REFUSES TO STAY IN ONE PLACE

Tearskin’s music exists somewhere between death metal, metalcore, black metal and extreme metal, combining crushing guitar work, relentless rhythms, electronic and symphonic elements, and an intentionally visceral vocal approach.

The music moves constantly between aggression and vulnerability. Clean and dramatic vocals can suddenly collapse into extreme screams. Melodic passages coexist with violent rhythmic sections. Electronic and symphonic textures expand the atmosphere rather than simply decorating it.

The result is deliberately uncomfortable, theatrical and emotionally charged. Tearskin’s songs are not designed simply to be heard. They are designed to be experienced.

THE TRAUMA KEI

At the center of the Tearskin identity is a concept they call Trauma Kei.

Inspired by the visual language of Japanese Visual Kei, the atmosphere of 1980s horror cinema, shock rock and extreme metal, Trauma Kei transforms emotional distress, isolation and psychological fragmentation into a physical and visual form.

It is not simply a fashion statement. It is an artistic language.

The band’s lyrics explore themes such as depersonalization, emotional pain, isolation, inner purification and psychological exorcism, turning deeply personal experiences into something deliberately theatrical and visceral.

The body becomes part of the artwork. The stage becomes a ritual. The song becomes the release.

“Tearskin is not simply a musical project, but a cathartic necessity. Trauma Kei is the mirror through which we transform discomfort, emotional numbness and flesh into visceral art.”

FROM THE WISHLIST STAGE TO THE UNDERGROUND

The project began its journey through an intensive period of musical and visual experimentation, searching for a sound and identity capable of existing beyond conventional genre boundaries.

Their live debut at Wishlist in Rome immediately established an important element of the Tearskin philosophy: the concert is not simply a performance.

It is an experience.

The duo developed a distinctive stage language built around intense physicality, conceptual rituals, darkness and visual symbolism. The result is a performance designed to involve the audience on multiple levels — musically, visually and emotionally.

Fast, violent and frenetic, a Tearskin show aims to become a 360-degree artistic experience, where sound, movement, imagery and atmosphere become part of the same entity.

A NEW LANGUAGE FOR EXTREME MUSIC

As the project developed, Tearskin gradually moved away from more traditional compositional structures, focusing instead on a more instinctive and poetic form of songwriting.

Their music is built around contrasts:

beauty and distortion.
silence and violence.
vulnerability and aggression.
humanity and monstrosity.

This contrast is fundamental to the band’s identity. Rather than hiding uncomfortable emotions, Tearskin place them directly in front of the listener.

The result is an aesthetic that can be disturbing, theatrical and deliberately raw — but always connected to the emotional core of the music.

“A•S•P•H•Y•X•I•A”

On October 22, 2026, Tearskin will officially open their discographic journey with “A•S•P•H•Y•X•I•A”.

The single represents the first recorded statement of the project’s developing identity and introduces listeners to the darker, more visceral world the duo is currently constructing.

It is the first piece of a larger artistic vision. Not an isolated experiment. Not simply a debut single.

A•S•P•H•Y•X•I•A is the first wound. And Tearskin intend to leave it open.

BEYOND ITALY

Despite being a young project, Tearskin are already looking beyond the boundaries of the Italian underground.

The duo is currently developing new unreleased material for future releases while exploring potential collaborations with international artists and figures connected to Japanese Metal, Visual Kei and the European modern heavy music scene.

Their objective is not simply to export an Italian metal project.

It is to develop and introduce Trauma Kei as a recognizable artistic identity, connecting the emotional intensity of extreme metal with the theatrical and visual traditions of Japanese alternative culture.

The next chapter is already being written.

TEARSKIN — THIS IS TRAUMA KEI.

This is not music for escaping reality. This is music for looking directly into it.

WOLFBRIGADE Release New Video/Single ‘Doomrunner’

Swedish lycanthro punk practitioners WOLFBRIGADE are pleased to unleash their latest single, “Doomrunner.” The ferocious new track comes off the band’s equally punishing Howl From Underground full-length, set for release on October 9th through Metal Blade Records.

Comments the band plainly, “The universe owes us nothing. That’s where “Doomrunner” begins. What keeps us moving anyway? Maybe not hope. Maybe instinct.”

With the amps still warm from 2024’s coruscating comeback Life Knife Death, veteran Swedish punk-metal masters WOLFBRIGADE strike back like a wounded cobra with their loudest, fullest, thickest-sounding record yet. And that’s no happy accident. On their twelfth LP (the first three released under the Wolfpack moniker, 1996-99), Howl From Underground, the quintet concertedly resolved to shake up their habitual processes and interrogate their customary methodology.

“As the songs started to fall into place, we decided to do something we hadn’t done in many years,” explains the band. “For the last decade we’ve recorded, produced, and mixed our albums ourselves. This time we wanted to work with someone from outside the band whose work we respect and who we felt would understand what WOLFBRIGADE is about.” The honor fell to Lawrence Mackrory – already a trusted collaborator with the likes of Meshuggah, Katatonia, Paradise Lost, and Bloodbath – at Necromorbus Studio, the converted Baptist church where Watain and Mayhem refined their occult chaos.

The strength of these decisions pay off instantly in the massive, febrile intensity of the captured sound as it bursts from the speakers like a haywire freight train. “Rather than building the songs layer by layer, we wanted to capture the band as a single unit,” notes WOLFBRIGADE. “The push and pull that happens when five people are locked into the same moment. There’s a tension in those kinds of performances that’s difficult to recreate any other way. Without a safety net, the focus sharpens and something else takes over. Sometimes the songs begin to take on a life of their own. More than anything, it leaves room for the unexpected.”

The urge to initiate a new working environment may have been emboldened by the return of drummer David “Dadde” Stark, who originally hammered the d-beats for WOLFBRIGADE from 2002-2015. “Everything clicked immediately. The chemistry was still there,” attests the band. “The shows felt vital, and suddenly it felt both interesting and relevant to return to the old songs again.” This fresh boost of energy and spirit resulted in 2025’s seat-of-your-pants live album Kill To Live, a heartening reaffirmation of the band’s first principles.

“Recording it was a reminder of what WOLFBRIGADE is at its most fundamental level,” observes the band. “Instead of taking a break afterwards, we moved almost straight into working on Howl From Underground, and began developing ideas that had always been embedded in the concept of lycanthro punk.”

PRE-ORDER/PRE-SAVE

A song about liberating oneself through denouncing all systematic, societal and religious oppression, “Mouth Filled…” strongly suggests there is something truly empowering in choosing defiance.

Hand made, old school, real, in-your-face thrash-death metal that will for sure make your head bang until the neck snaps. That’s HateSphere!

“Guillotine” is more dark and atmospherical than the acclaimed 2023 “Hatred Reborn”, but still with all the typical HateSphere trademarks: the aggression, the speed, the melody, and the groove.

The whole record revolves around what defines the moral compass and what is morally good and bad but also what lies behind intentions, motives and actions. It paints the picture of the eternal struggle between human nature and societal constructs, and therefore poses the question – who will be the first to break: man or society. And in the end what will be the consequences.

Mathias Uldall – vocals
Peter Lyse Karmark – guitar
Franz Aleksander Posch – guitar
Jimmy Fyrstenberg – bass

Slovenian Extreme-Metal Pioneers NOCTIFERIA Return with New Video Single ‘Aeon Shift’ & Announce New Album

Their story is as remarkable as their impact on the metal scene is defining: Originally emerged from the early-1990s underground, pioneering Slovenian extreme-metal veterans Noctiferia have in over three decades become one of the most influential and internationally recognized bands far beyond their borders of their home country’s heavy music scene.

Going down in history as the first Slovenian band to perform at Wacken Open Air and receiving the Honorary Plaque of the City of Ljubljana for their 25th anniversary and contribution to culture, Noctiferia have continually transformed their sound, moving through black metal, death metal, industrial and groove metal while incorporating electronic, ethnic and acoustic elements.
Throughout their career, they have performed extensively across Europe and China, sharing stages with internationally renowned acts and appearing at major festivals – including performances at Ljubljana’s Drama Theatre and Opera House. Their international collaborations have included renowned producers such as Peter Tägtgren, Jonas Kjellgren, Johan Örnborg, Jens Bogren and Henrik Udd among others.

2026 sees the extreme-metal institution set more milestones for the next chapter of the band’s legacy: With the introduction of Miloš Mihajlović as their new vocalist and David Bordon as their new drummer, Noctiferia have returned to performing with a new lineup that is complete with bass player Uroš Lipovec and guitarists Igor Nardin and Andrej Blatnik.

And to get their fans even more excited, the band has announced a new studio album (coming November 2026 via Nika Records) – all marking another new phase in their musical evolution. The 2026 return also serves as the beginning of the band’s approach toward their 30th anniversary celebrations in 2027.

Paving the way for Noctiferia’s highly anticipated eighth studio album is their brand-new single “Aeon Shift”. Heavy, melodic and relentlessly aggressive, the song represents the most unmistakably Noctiferia-sounding track on the new album. Combining crushing modern heaviness with powerful melodies and a hauntingly dark feel, it connects the band’s established identity with the new sonic direction explored throughout the upcoming album. It opens with a mystical, atmospheric introduction and gradually builds tension before erupting into a powerful and uncompromising attack. A thunderous finale brings the track to a dramatic conclusion, making it a fitting first glimpse into the new chapter of Noctiferia.

With their history of crossing boundaries between extreme metal, industrial, groove, electronics, ethnic music and acoustic experimentation, Noctiferia continues to develop rather than simply reproduce its earlier sound, making fans even more excited for their new material. The band teases that the upcoming album represents both a continuation of the band’s legacy and a deliberate step into new territory — sharper, heavier and more forward-looking than ever before.

About NOCTIFERIA

The pioneering Slovenian extreme-metal band NOCTIFERIA was officially formed in Ljubljana in 1997. Over three decades, the band has continually transformed its sound, moving through black metal, death metal, industrial and groove metal while incorporating electronic, ethnic and acoustic elements. Their career has established them as one of the most influential and internationally recognized bands in the Slovenian metal scene.

The band originally emerged from the early-1990s underground under the name Emetica before becoming Noctiferia. Their debut album, “Baptism at Savica Fall”, was released in 1998 and established their early black/pagan-metal identity. Subsequent releases saw the group progressively move toward a more extreme and experimental sound, including “Per Aspera” (2003), “Slovenska Morbida” (2006), “Death Culture” (2010), “PAX” (2014), the genre-defying acoustic project “Transnatura” (2016) and tribute album to legendary Laibach under the name of “Reforma” (2021) with David Vincent (ex-Morbid Angel), Attila Szihar (Mayhem) and Jorgen Munkeby (Shining) as guests.

Throughout their career, Noctiferia have performed extensively across Europe and China, sharing stages with internationally renowned acts and appearing at major festivals. They became the first Slovenian band to perform at Wacken Open Air, while their career has also included performances at Ljubljana’s Drama Theatre and Opera House. Their international collaborations have included renowned producers such as Peter Tägtgren, Jonas Kjellgren, Johan Örnborg, Jens Bogren and Henrik Udd among others.
In 2026, Noctiferia enter a new chapter following a period away from the live stage. The band introduces Miloš Mihajlović as their new vocalist and David Bordon as their new drummer and returns to performing with a new lineup.

The current full lineup is:

Miloš Mihajlović – Vocals
Igor Nardin
– Guitar
Uroš Lipovec
– Bass
Andrej Blatnik
– Guitar
David Bordon
– Drums

The new lineup made its Slovenian live debut at Orto Fest in Ljubljana on 18 April 2026, performing established Noctiferia material alongside selected new compositions. Noctiferia will release a new studio album in November 2026, marking another new phase in its musical evolution. The 2026 return also serves as the beginning of the band’s approach toward its 30th anniversary celebrations in 2027.

THRAKIAN Unleash Second Single ‘In the Grips of Illusion’ from Upcoming Album

UK atmospheric sludge metallers THRAKIAN have unleashed “In the Grips of Illusion”, the second single taken from their upcoming debut album, “The Way” (out October 16 via Aonair Records).
The new track continues to showcase the quartet’s signature fusion of crushing heaviness, immersive soundscapes, and mythic introspection, offering another deep dive into the thematic world of their debut record.

Speaking on the new single, the band shares: “‘In the Grips of Illusion’ draws on the myth of Orpheus’ descent into Hell and the illusion that we can alter what has already happened or control what is yet to come. We wrote this track last, just as we were about to enter the studio, and in many ways it became a summary of the whole process of creating ‘The Way’.“

Stream the single HERE

Originating from the coast of Bulgaria and now firmly rooted in Wales, THRAKIAN is a post-metal/sludge quartet fusing pummelling sonic weight with philosophical depth.

After three years of delivering ferocious, high-impact performances across the UK metal scene, the band now present their debut record, “The Way” – a work shaped by ancient philosophies, personal upheaval, and the turbulent process of rebuilding identity in a new land.

Recorded at Cardiff’s renowned Longwave and Woodcroft Audio Studios, and shaped with the expertise of engineer Timothy Vincent (Evile, Brutality Will Prevail), “The Way” is a 35-minute reflection on the human condition.

The album channels the band’s immigrant experience through pummelling riffcraft and immersive post-metal soundscapes, drawing thematic influence from Thracian mythology and timeless narratives of loss, endurance, and resilience.

Tracklist:

1. Labors of Insanity
2. Ancient Glory
3. The Way
4. In the Grips of Illusions

“The Way” will be coming out on October 16 via Aonair Records and is available for pre-order HERE
