From The Land, the dark country/gothic rock project featuring Nytt Land members, continue their musical journey with the release of their third single, “Would You Know”. The track follows the previously released singles “Psalm 2” and “F.K.” as a prelude to their debut album, “Stolen Season pt. I.“
The band shared insights into the track’s origins, stating: “The song was originally penned a few years ago by Natalia Pakhalenko, the acclaimed composer and vocalist of the popular dark folk band Nytt Land. In this arrangement, inspired by the music of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Green Day, we decided to preserve the originality of Natalia’s sound and vocal technique, without departing from our own sound. This song is a question – are you ready to learn more than you know?“
‘Would You Know’ maintains the band’s core aesthetic, blending ritualistic dark folk with classic country, and serves as another powerful taste of “Stolen Season pt. I” set for release on 21 November via 7 Mater, with distribution by The Circle Music.
Listen to previously released singles “F.K.” and “Psalm 2”.
From The Land is the brainchild of Anatoly Pakhalenko, frontman of the dark folk band Nytt Land. Conceived in 2025, the project serves as an alter ego for Pakhalenko’s creative exploration and experimentation within dark country and blues genres. The band’s aesthetic is described as a “black and white world tired of all this s**t that’s going on around and gradually sinking into an endless sleep.”
“Stolen Season pt. I” was composed by Anatoly Pakhalenko and Aleksandr Rosliakov. The album was recorded at Nytt Land Studio between January and May 2025, with Anatoly Pakhalenko serving as recording and mixing engineer, and producer.
From The Land draws inspiration from the works of H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, and David Lynch.
There is true magic glittering in the second single taken from the forthcoming MER Redux Series release “The Downward Spiral Redux“. Avant-garde metal outfit DREADNOUGHT from Denver, Colorado present their astonishing and unique take on the NINE INCH NAILS classic ‘The Becoming‘ in the shape of a music video – and yes, there is a flute.
Parallelto “The Downward Spiral Redux“, Magnetic Eye Records will release their customar companion album entitled “Best of Nine Inch Nails Redux” that contains 13 cover renditions of deep cuts and all-time classics from across NINE INCH NAILS‘ catalogue recorded by some of the heavy underground’s most exciting artists.
DREADNOUGHT comment: “What excited us most about our choice of ‘The Becoming’ for this tribute was the challenge of covering an artist with a completely different sound from us yet one that we love and respect“, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Kelly Schilling reveals. “While we wanted to pay homage to the original song, we also wanted to fully make it our own. We had a lot of fun interpreting the melodies and nuances with different voicings and instrumentation, and we couldn’t resist adding a new flair of our own.“

DREADNOUGHT hail from Denver, Colorado. Since their genre-defying inception in 2012, the band has focused on creativity and exploration, pulling from all aspects of their musical backgrounds to craft something exciting and unique. Joining in the common ground of extreme metal, DREADNOUGHT explore a blend of prog, doom, folk, jazz, classical, black metal, and post rock. With riveting vocal performances, ferocious grooves, and soaring synthesizers, the Americans have earned a reputation as pioneers of sound. The melodic awe of their debut full-length “Lifewoven” (2013) and the sophomore album “Bridging Realms”(2015) turned darker and more complex with “A Wake in Sacred Waves” (2017) and “Emergence” (2019), to culminate with a beautifully fresh perspective in writing, production, and performance on their latest release “The Endless” (2022).

At this moment, the world’s reliance on machines, algorithms, and artificial intelligence has never been greater. This makes now the perfect time to reflect on the emergence of a musical force whose blend of mechanized instrumentation and raw emotion was singular and revolutionary.
NINE INCH NAILS were formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1988. They arrived around the same time as grunge when Generation X was developing an awareness of itself, but while there was cross-appeal, the sound they created was clearly and intentionally something very different.
The skepticism of that era came through in the music, with artists from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE to NIRVANA pushing back against what were acceptable words and actions in our society, and everything from the ideals of what major musicians should do with their fame to what people and corporations stood for were fair targets.
NINE INCH NAILS were at least twice as cynical as everyone else and reflected the singular, driven musical expression of mastermind Trent Reznor. The music he made as NIN has always ranged from infectious, furious, delicate, and sexual to transgressive, uplifting, cautionary, and hopeless. While Reznor did not always make broad, blunt statements about politics, materialism or repression (though he definitely did at times), there was a consistently restless quality to his music. His frustration at the veneer of normalcy and acceptability that characterized modern popular music was palpable, and he seemed to search endlessly for seams to peel back and rip loose to expose what was underneath.
Of NINE INCH NAILS‘ seminal breakthrough album, Spin magazine respectfully had this to say in 2024: “As The Downward Spiral turns 30 this year, it still stands as an act of artistic transgression against the limits of popular music. Pushing the boundaries of creative censorship, it is still considered Nine Inch Nails’ most daring and uncompromising album.”
Join us in paying homage to one of rock’s most ambitious innovators and angriest Gen X voices railing against the status quo, as we present our latest Redux Series installment “The Downward Spiral Redux”, along with the traditional companion album “Best of Nine Inch Nails Redux”. The two double album collections together comprise 27 re-imagined renditions by some of today’s coolest and heaviest artists taking on NINE INCH NAILS classics and deep cuts.
The Magnetic Eye Redux Series features hand-picked classic albums from across the history of rock and metal re-imagined in their entirety from start to finish. Artists we love from within and outside the heavy rock landscape choose tracks to make their own, bringing these milestone records into the new millennium with crushing heaviness and searing energy. To date, we’ve produced Redux editions of PINK FLOYD’s “The Wall”, HELMET’s “Meantime”, BLACK SABBATH’s “Vol. 4”, JIMI HENDRIX’s “Electric Ladyland”, ALICE IN CHAINS’ “Dirt”, AC/DC’s “Back in Black”, SOUNDGARDEN’s “Superunknown”, JETHRO TULL’s “Aqualung”, and RAMONES’ self-titled debut, which have included artists like RED FANG, THE SWORD, MATT PIKE, PALLBEARER, THE MELVINS, ALL THEM WITCHES, KHEMMIS, ASG, SUPERSUCKERS, ZAKK WYLDE, MARK LANEGAN, VOIVOD, and many more amazing artists.
Join us for our tenth foray into Redux territory as we pay proper respect to the US industrial rock legends NINE INCH NAILS!

After Existential Mourning (2024), Iranian gothic doom project SHIVERED returns with a new full-length Concept album titled “Chains”, set for release in November 2 2025. A concept record built on themes of mass suicide, psychological collapse, and the quiet end of civilization, Chains offers a bleak and immersive exploration of grief, disillusionment, and loss of self.
Mohammad Maki on the new album “Chains”: “I had this vision of an apocalyptic landscape, where humans hang from chains, a mass suicide marking the end of humanity. Chains became the embodiment of that vision: a collision of fiction and reality, where grief mutates into madness and ultimately leads to destruction. The single ‘Ruins of Memories’ reflects a time when all joy is gone, when the past holds the only good moments, and nothing in the present can bring light anymore.“

More info on the album:
“Chains” is an 8-track concept album that blurs the line between fiction and reality, exploring the psychological unraveling of a man consumed by grief. As his connection to the world dissolves, he envisions a global end through a chilling act of mass suicide. After taking his own life, his spirit becomes the harbinger of humanity’s downfall, summoning spectral chains that descend as nooses upon every soul on earth. Set against a backdrop of apocalyptic dread and emotional collapse, Chains delivers a bleak and immersive journey into the darkest corners of the human psyche.
Eight slow-burning tracks shaped by melancholic riffs, stark melodic lines, and emotionally restrained vocals. The sound draws heavily from the lineage of gothic doom—atmospheric yet grounded, sorrowful yet composed. Written, performed, and produced by Mohammad Maki, the album marks a continued evolution in Shivered’s artistic direction: more focused, more intimate, and more suffocating in its emotional weight.
Recommended for listeners of Katatonia, Swallow the Sun, Paradise Lost, and Warning. Chains is not a reinvention, but a refinement—a precise, deeply personal document of despair at the edge of collapse.
Biography : Shivered is a gothic doom metal project formed in 2015 in Iran by Mohammad Maki, who serves as vocalist, guitarist, bassist, and songwriter. After releasing the debut EP Bereaved and Gone Insane in 2016 and full-length Journey to Fade in 2017, the project went on hiatus before returning in 2024 with the self-produced album Existential Mourning—a bleak, introspective work exploring isolation and spiritual decay. Shivered’s upcoming concept album Chains, set for release in October 2025, delves into mass suicide, psychological collapse, and the collision of fiction and apocalyptic reality.
Finnish progressive metal band Humming Whale releases their debut studio album “Chasing Rabbits” in November 2025. Now they have released the first single “Ocular” from that album.
The band’s guitarist Lassi describes the song: “Ocular is the first single from our upcoming debut album. It was originally composed in 2016 as a song based solely on guitar riffs. When recording our album during 2017-2024, we got very inspired by synthesizers and acoustic percussions, and this led to the final form of the song.”
–Lyrics by Aki Hahto –Composed by Lassi Paunonen, Aki Hahto, Ville Kiiveri, and Antti Lumijärvi –Record label: Whale Records (self-published) –Produced by Lassi Paunonen and Ville Kiiveri –Recorded at Sycamore Studios by Lassi Paunonen –Mixed by Jussi Kulomaa –Mastered by Jaakko Viitalähde at Virtalähde Mastering
The story of Humming Whale begun in 2006 in Tampere, Finland. Lassi Paunonen and Ville Kiiveri had already been friends for a long time, and had also been playing together in various bands. Their musical backgrounds steered the new band towards heavier soundscapes, but due to their broad tastes, the band was also from the beginning open to influences from a wide variety of genres.
The band reached its first stable line-up in 2015 with Aki Hahto in vocals and Antti Lumijärvi in drums. The band begun to record its first full album in late 2016 based on the songs they had composed over the years. During the recording stage which took place in Lassi’s studio, the songs begun to absorb more and more influences from analogue synthesis, and the final sound of the album begun to take form. The band took their time in shaping (and even rewriting) the songs. The process finally resulted in the album Chasing Rabbits, published in November 2025.
At the end of the year 2023 the band also arrived at their current line-up, with Matias Kuure in drums.
Members: Aki Hahto – Vocals and percussion Lassi Paunonen – Guitar and synthesizers Ville Kiiveri – Bass Matias Kuure – Drums
For those who need to belong to a musical tribe, Shaggy Dogs are renegades because they do not claim any affiliation. Blues ? Not only. Pub Rock ? Too restrictive! Rock, maybe ? Soul ??? A little bit of this and a little bit of that, a subtle melting pot that they call Blues’n’Roll fiesta.
Can they be considered rebels and outlaws because they refuse all the clichés associated to a defined genre and do not accept conventions ? They have chosen freedom and their music is rich of many influences and colours. Their motto : partying with the crowd.
Nine albums later, endlessly touring in France, Europe, Canada and even Japan, the hounds bite deeper than ever. They are back with a brand new album ‘Pinball Boomers’, produced by the well-known Nick BRINE from Rockfields Studios in Wales. Their priorities have not changed, and they keep repeating that one needs to make the most of every single moment.
Since their inception, the Shaggy Dogs have always connected their blues & roll fiesta to the source of the mother of all music – the origin of the modern world, so to speak – the blues. On this new album, we find the very characteristic “My Baby Left Me In The Fog” attesting to their good faith. More bluesy, they would have drowned in the swamp, eaten by alligators.
With ‘Pinball Boomers’, the shaggy dogs continue their campaign of transgressive emancipation. The Shaggy Dogs’ Blues’n’Roll fiesta has always lifted its rhythm’n’blues colors high, with Dr Feelgood as its standard-bearer, as evidenced by “Your Love Is Dynamite”. However, the Dogs broaden the palette with a Staxian-style instrumental section, in the style of the J. Geils Band (“Who’s Gonna Vote”, “Go & Run”) or Barrence Withfield (“City Guy”, “We Could Have Been To China”).
And if “Lee’s The Man” is a heartfelt tribute to Lee Brilleaux, the Stones could also lay claim to it, with its chorus of buxom mermaids dutifully toiling away in the parking lot of an idle motel just off Route 66 near Albuquerque. The same configuration is found in “Talk Too Fast”, whose lyrics inspire the album title: ‘Live your life like a pinball machine, trying to score without ever falling down.’ The closing track, “Better Life”, is a pure pub-rock gem, riding on a Bo Diddley-style spiral rhythm, with a nod to Dr Feelgood.
The Shaggy Dogs don’t hesitate to use orchestration to match their ambitions; when horns, piano or Hammond organ are at the forefront, they enrich songs that spin out of control and give rise to ideas that morality frowns upon…
The themes tackled by ‘Pinball Boomers’ take a bitter look at our society, our daily lives, our relationships, our questioning, our doubts. You don’t come to blues and rock by chance; the motivation isn’t just musical. These are the only modes of expression that allow you to honestly get rid of your frustrations and anxieties, and in this regard, the Shaggy Dogs do it admirably well.
The Shaggy Dogs are back with a great ‘Pinball Boomers’ collar, but be warned, no one has ever been able to keep them on a leash.
Enter into their spatiotemporal crack and rediscover the Rock’n’Roll Blues big bang !
