Finnish progressive death/post-metal metal band Ashes In The Fall released their debut EP ‘Where Serenity Prevails’ on 21 March 2025 via Inverse Records. The band was formed in 2019, and all members are between 17 and 18 years old.

LISTEN to Where Serenity Prevails EP: https://push.fm/fl/aitf-ep

The band comments:
” “Where Serenity Prevails” is our debut EP about the destruction of humanity and the Earth after it. The EP features acoustic sections and clean vocals as well as distorted sections and harsh vocals, polyphonic vocal harmonies and shifting time signatures. Jazz influences and breakdowns that break the traditional moulds bring additional flavours. From start to finish, the EP has an immersive atmosphere that creates strong images. During the composition process, our biggest musical influences were Gojira, Alcest and especially Opeth. The story was inspired by Studio Ghibli films. We highly recommend this EP for fans of progressive death metal and post-metal as well as fans of the bands mentioned above. And for all those who like a rough and authentic production, the EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by the band.”

Track list:

  1. Kodamas (02:14)
  2. Seven Days of Fire (04:41)
  3. Dusk of Mankind (11:07)

Cover art by Tella Kullenberg

Ashes In The Fall is a Finnish progressive death metal/post-metal band. During the band’s 6 years of existence it has gone through numerous changes in personnel, with the current roster consisting of:

Touko Kaihola – drums, percussion, backing vocals
Samuel Routama – lead vocals, samples
Anton Valros – bass, backing vocals
Simon Valros – guitars
Jennifer Evans – keyboards, samples, backing vocals, percussion

The band takes influences from many different sources, with our biggest influences probably being Opeth, Mastodon, Insomnium, Ulver, Neurosis, Alcest and Gojira. We also take influences from music outside the metal genre, such as jazz, folk, progressive rock and hardcore punk to name a few.

After laying dormant for a long time, Ashes In The Fall have finally started to pick up their pace, with the EP “Where Serenity Prevails” being scheduled for release in this spring on Inverse Records. The EP’s lead single Dusk of Mankind will be released to the public on January 30th 2025. With the release of this new material, Ashes In The Fall will also be playing even more live shows, with an upcoming highlight in the band’s career being a performance at Tuska on the KVLT stage in June 2025.

Order the album here: https://music.blacklion.nu/Euphrosyne-morus and stream it at https://orcd.co/morus

Since forming as a full band in 2022, Euphrosyne has made a significant impact on the metal scene. Influenced by post-black metal and doom, they’ve performed across Greece, sharing the stage with legends like Rotting Christ, Sakis Tolis, and Sylvaine. Their live shows include appearances at prestigious festivals like Metal Hammer’s 39th Anniversary, New Long Festival, and Rotting Christ’s 35th Anniversary Celebration.

The music is composed by Alex Despotidis, the lyrics were written by Efi Eva and the song was mixed and mastered by Psychon, with the vocals tracked at Sound Abuse Productions studio.

Morus is an experiential concept album inspired by the true story of the loss of Alex Despotidis’s Mother from cancer on 2017. The narration begins with the realization of death and the feelings surrounding it until the final embrace, continues with the existential question “What happens after all comes to pass” and the depiction of pain and suffering. It moves forward towards the acceptance of the image of the person who is losing the battle and the last journey forward the Asphodel Meadows, the section of the ancient Greek underworld where the majority of souls were sent to live after death. The music has been written by Alex Despotidis and the lyrics by Efi Eva, the mixing and mastering by Psychon (Septicflesh) and the artwork, as well as the photoshooting of the band, by Dimitris Tzortzis.

EMBRIONAL Stream New Album “Inherited Tendencies for Self-Destruction”, Out Now

Polish death metallers EMBRIONAL (feat. members of Azarath, ex-Furia and ex-Christ Agony) are streaming their new studio album “Inherited Tendencies for Self-Destruction”, which was released on March 21st via Agonia Records.

Listen to the album in full, here:

EMBRIONAL‘s fourth full-length marks a new chapter for the Gliwice-based four-piece. The compositions take on a redefined approach, from writing, recording, through self-production by vocalist Skullripper of Azarath fame. The drums and guitars  give off a natural and spacious sounding, having been tracked at the atmospheric Piekło Niebo Studio in cooperation with Ataman Tolovy. Combined with crisp growls, hounding bass & tremolo arm-prone guitar solos – registered at Panzer Studios – the sonic arrangement turns out suffocating and dark, layered with punishing outbursts not impervious to more climatic moments along the album’s near 40 minute run. Production-wise, the longplay has been diversified by throwing in technical flavors and a balanced amount of samples, which smartly add up to its heaviness. Haldor Grunberg took care of mixing and mastering at Satanic Audio (Behemoth, Azarath, Pestilence). Maciej Kamuda painted the cover artwork and Maciej Mutwil portrayed the band in photography.

“We are very pleased with the album” comments the band. “Our sound signature matured and stands out from our earlier offerings. In conscious avail of our past experience, the compositions and production undergone a deliberate treatment, unheard in Embrional’s music before.”

Tracklisting:
1. Choirs of Apocalypse (intro)
2. The World Deserves Self-Destruction
3. Inspiration to Slay
4. Seduced by the Lies
5. Lies of God
6. The Shrine of Collapse
7. Suicide Journey
8. Purified by Death
9. Sadistic Desire
10. Extinction (outro)
11. Obliteration Rites

Line-up:
Skullripper – vocals, guitars
Darek Młody – drums
Marek – guitars
Armagog – bass

For more than two decades, Drudkh have remained an enigmatic yet deeply influential force in black metal. The band’s unique ability to fuse atmospheric soundscapes with historical and poetic narratives has made them one of the most revered names in underground metal.

Shadow Play is a visceral meditation on life’s contrasts, from light to shadows, storms in between silences, memory and oblivion, through an eternal longing to reconnect with one’s origins. The melancholic grandeur of “The Exile”, the fleeting beauty of “The Eve” and the devastating “The Thirst” all capture a world that’s suspended between past and present.

Tracklist:
1. Scattering the Ashes (7:23)
2. April (11:11)
3. The Exile (10:12) [LISTEN]
4. Fallen Blossom (6:50)
5. The Eve (7:08) [WATCH]
6. The Thirst (12:21)
Full runtime: 55:05

Born from the whispering winds and the brooding landscapes of Ukraine, a realm steeped in history and draped in the enigma of folklore, emerges Drudkh – a beacon of profound expression in the vast expanse of black metal. In their essence, Drudkh are the custodians of a narrative, combining atmospheric and pagan influences into a mesmerizing portrayal of their homeland’s soul. Their journey is one of introspection, seeking to create music that evoke a profound emotional resonance that stirs the depths of the human experience.

With the unfolding of Shadow Play, their latest album, Drudkh invites the listener into a realm where the boundaries between the corporeal and the ethereal blur. This album emerges as an ode to the contrasting forces that shape existence: light against shadow, silence against storm, ephemeral beauty against the decay of oblivion. A story untold, exploring themes of exile, the cycle of life and death, and the perpetual yearning for a return to origins—both personal and collective.

Through Shadow Play, Drudkh transcends the conventional expectations of music, engaging in a dialogue that is both personal and universal. They challenge us to confront our own shadows, to find beauty in desolation, and to appreciate the intricate dance of light and darkness that defines our existence. This album is another chapter in Drudkh’s storied discography – it represents an invigorated exploration into the myriad facets of human emotion, the relentless pursuit of truth, and the undying passion for unearthing the hidden threads that connect us to the past.

Drudkh continues to illuminate the path for those who dare to wander, to question, and to dream.

After the triumphant release of their recent critically acclaimed EP “Year Of The Four Emperors,” Canadian death metal gladiators EX DEO have just released a lyric video for ‘Galba.’ The song is a ferocious opener for the EP that showcases exactly why they are considered to be at the forefront of the genre.

The band say about the track: “Galba rises from the ashes of Nero’s reign, a tyrant cloaked in the guise of saviour. The track mirrors his ruthless ascent, dominated by unrelenting riffs and venomous proclamations of power. His insatiable hunger for wealth and domination sets the tone for the chaos to follow. As the walls of Rome close in, the Praetorian Guard turns against him in a violent crescendo, heralding his downfall. Galba’s story is a chilling testament to hubris and betrayal.”

Frontiers Music Srl is thrilled to announce the signing of LYNYRD SKYNYRD, one of the most legendary and enduring bands in rock history. This partnership celebrates the band’s incredible legacy while looking ahead to exciting new projects.

As part of this exciting new collaboration, the Frontiers label will release “Celebrating 50 Years – Live At The Ryman”, a live album and DVD capturing Lynyrd Skynyrd’s historic 50th-anniversary concert at Nashville’s legendary venue in 2022. This special release holds profound significance as it features the final performance of founding member Gary Rossington.

The album showcases the band’s unparalleled energy, their signature blend of blues rock and Southern hard rock swagger and stands as both a heartfelt tribute to Rossington and a celebration of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s lasting legacy in music history.

Johnny Van Zant expressed his enthusiasm about the signing and the upcoming release: “50 years for Lynyrd Skynyrd… WOW! We are so grateful to the devoted fans for their support throughout the years of transitions and losses. Last year we lost the great Mr. Gary Rossington. We unknowingly were able to have captured his final performance with us. It’s bittersweet but what a special place to have had his final performance, the mother ship of music – The Ryman Auditorium!”

“It was a very special night with incredibly talented guests as we honored the iconic musicality of Skynyrd. We are so grateful to the Ryman and to all of those who have worked so hard to make this project become a reality! This will forever be a keepsake in our hearts, and we are so happy to be able to share it with our Skynyrd Nation”, he continued.

“Few bands have left such a lasting impact on rock music as Lynyrd Skynyrd”, stated Serafino Perugino, President & CEO of Frontiers Label Group. “It is an honor to work with such an iconic name, and we can’t wait to bring fans something truly special.”

Tom Lipsky, Head of A&R of North America for Frontiers Label Group, added: “Gary Rossington touched the world with his songwriting and inspired us for decades onstage. It is an honour to bring the words and music of Lynyrd Skynyrd to the fans via Gary’s final performance, surrounded by his Lynyrd Skynyrd family as together they delivered an unforgettable concert experience at The Ryman!”

“We are excited to bring 50 Years of Skynyrd to the fans. The Rossington family felt it was important to share Gary’s last performance with everyone. It was a special night with incredibly talented guest artists, honoring the iconic songs of Skynyrd in the mother church of music, The Ryman Auditorium”, commented Ross Schilling, Vector Management.

With over 28 million records sold in the U.S. and a sound as iconic as the American culture it celebrates, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd continue to inspire fans of all ages while embodying the very soul of Southern rock.

From their humble Jacksonville beginnings, through tragedy, reunion, and redemption, the band has earned its place on Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” – as well as a prominent spot in the hearts of generations.

In 2023, with the 50th anniversary of their pioneering debut album “(Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd)” the band continues to tour, record, and delight their hundreds of millions of global fans with an eye on both the future and their rich history.

Originally formed in 1964 as My Backyard, the band evolved into Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1968, with a lineup featuring Ronnie Van Zant (vocals), Gary Rossington (guitar), Allen Collins (guitar), Larry Junstrom (bass), and Bob Burns (drums). Their 1973 debut album introduced the world to their unmistakable blend of blues, country, and hard rock. Hits like “Sweet Home Alabama” and the timeless “Free Bird” cemented their status as pioneers of the genre.

At the peak of their success, in 1977, a devastating plane crash claimed the lives of lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and backup vocalist Cassie Gaines, leaving the music world in shock. Despite the unimaginable loss, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s legacy endured, and their music remained a beacon of Southern rock.

In 1987, the band reformed with Ronnie’s younger brother, Johnny Van Zant, taking the lead as lead vocalist. Lynyrd Skynyrd continued to tour and record, with guitarist Rickey Medlocke returning to the fold in 1996. Throughout the years, the band remained a driving force in rock, honouring their roots while bringing their signature sound to new audiences.

Recognized as one of the greatest rock bands of all time, Lynyrd Skynyrd was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and ranked No. 95 on Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Artists Of All Time.” With over 28 million records sold in the United States alone, their impact on music is undeniable.

Though founding member Gary Rossington’s passing in 2023 marked the end of an era, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s influence remains stronger than ever. Their enduring music, spirit, and legacy will forever stand as a testament to the power of rock and roll.
