Portuguese prog infused melodeath metal act APOTHEUS are less than a month away from unleashing their sophomore album “The Far Star“. The quartet took a completely different approach with their first ever conceptual album, blending melodies with the story and emotion. The opus unfolds the untold story of our ancestry — a painful journey of survival in the majesty of the cosmos, but also a delicate introspective about the human nature. The Isaac Asimov inspired album reveals how the collision of two worlds resulted something new: a hope, a mission and a destination.
Out November 01st via Black Lion Records, each track of this opus narrates a different chapter of this epic saga.
As the second single of the album, APOTHEUS are offering the video for the track “A New Beginning” where “the turn of events on the story takes place as the last standing passenger has no other chance but to plant the seed”, the band inform. Watch it below.
The video for the first single “Caves of Steel” got its debut via Decibel Magazine last month.

DEVIL YOU KNOW, freaturing Howard Jones (ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE), Francesco Artusato (ALL SHALL PERISH) and John Sankey (DEVOLVED), have released the official lyric video for the track “A New Beginning”, here.
DEVIL YOU KNOW’s highly-anticipated album, The Beauty of Destruction, will be made available on both physical and digital formats on April 29 (North America/UK/France) via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The record was produced by Logan Mader (5 FINGER DEATH PUNCH, GOJIRA) and mixed by none other than acclaimed producer/mixer Chris “Zeuss” Harris (HATEBREED, CHELSEA GRIN). Artwork was created by noted painter and illustrator Travis Smith (OPETH, DEVIN TOWNSEND). “When Travis Smith presented us with the initial sketches we were blown away,” commented Jones. “He captured the concept of the album perfectly. It’s hugely different than anything that’s out there and will be immediately recognizable as DEVIL YOU KNOW.”

“The stage is really being set for something incredible to happen” says Australian born drummer John Sankey. It was Artusato’s musical collaboration with Sankey (also a collaborator with FEAR FACTORY) that caught Jones’ attention in late 2012 when demos were passed through mutual acquaintances. Based on the strengths of the two musicians’ efforts, Jones emerged from a two-year hiatus following his decade-long tenure fronting KILLSWITCH, during which the Massachusetts metallers racked up two gold records and a Grammy nomination.
