In celebration of the release, ABORTED posted a brand new live video for the song ‘Necrotic Manifesto’ shot live at Graspop 2015. This song was taken from their latest release, ‘The Necrotic Manifesto’ and can be watched here:
The band had the following message to fans regarding the new video and forthcoming EP: “Dear ghouls and maniacs: We couldn’t be more excited to make the following announcement! 2015 marked 20 years of existence for Aborted and we figured we would do something for the occasion, so here it is! Termination Redux is our 20th anniversary EP release containing 3 new tracks and a re-recording of our 2001 Engineering The Dead opener ‘The Holocaust Incarnate’. The release will be exclusively available on vinyl and digitally. We will have a limited amount of copies on neon orange vinyl so grab those while you can! The video for Termination Redux was shot with our good friend Jens from Panda productions and we hope you enjoy it! Next to this EP release which will be out just in time for our tour with our friends in Kataklysm and Septic Flesh, we will also be recording our new full-length this december at Kohlekeller studio in Germany. The EP is a prelude of things to come and rest assured the new album will be ripping you a new one next spring! Support death metal!”
BLOODBATH’s one off ‘Winter Bloodbash’ London show on 18th December at the Electric Ballroom is set to become even moregruesome with the addition of Belgium’s death metal stalwarts ABORTED who state:
‘We are extremely honoured and humbled to be playing with BLOODBATH in London this December. Bloodbath have been one of our absolute favourite bands ever since they released their first Ep and for sure this night will mark an evening to remember. We will be premiering some new material of our own so make sure to come on down there you bastards and party with us all!’
For the past 12 months BLOODBATH have taken their brand of supreme, unrelenting death metal across the globe to the likes of Tuska Open Air, Hellfest, Sweden Rock Fest and Maryland Deathfest but with no sign of a UK performance. Now, after close to a year of waiting, and despite the 13th candle having long gone out, BLOODBATH will rise once again in celebration of all that is unholy at the holiest time of the year.
BLOODBATH, the titans of death metal from Stockholm, Sweden, notable for the inclusion of Katatonia, Opeth and Paradise Lost members, have also decided to launch a competition for a UK band to open up for them at this show. An early Christmas gift you could say. While in some cultures Christmas is seen as a time to reward those who have been well behaved, in others it is anything but. BLOODBATH vocalist ‘Old Nick’ comments:
‘In folklore, a horned, Christmas devil known as Krampus punishes those who have misbehaved during the festive season. For this show we’d like to embody the anti-Krampus and reward the most blasphemous and twisted of bands, by allowing them to join us on this almighty line-up. Whether you have been naughty or nice this year you should definitely attend our Winter Bloodbash and celebrate with us!’
Bands interested in opening for BLOODBATH and Aborted in London on 18th December are asked to post a track or video on their band’s twitter including the hashtag #winterbloodbash
At the end of this month members of BLOODBATH will pick out their 3 favourite bands and put them forward to their fans to vote for the one act that should be added to the “Winter Bloodbash”.
BLOODBATH released their latest album ‘Grand Morbid Funeral’ in November 2014, via Peaceville Records. A new high-point of brutality for BLOODBATH, it was the first album to feature new vocals Nick Holmes of Paradise Lost.
Belgium’s death metallers ABORTED have begun writing new material for their follow up to The Necrotic Manifesto and are gearing up to enter the studio later this year, to be released on Century Media. With anticipation is at an all time high, the band has unveiled new tour dates and released the following guitar playthrough video exclusively through GuitarWorld.com.
Watch Danny Tunker and Mendel Bij De Leij play through “The Necrotic Manifesto”, HERE.
The band had this to say on the coming of new material: “2014 and 2015 have been insanely busy years for ABORTED. The Necrotic Manifesto marked the most intensive touring cycle the band ever had, we played every continent on the globe and met some great people along the way. Things haven’t been quiet in our camp since and we will continue to bring you some more gore ridden metal! That’s right we have begun writing the follow up to The Necrotic Manifesto, we will begin recording by the end of the year, so expect a release by spring time 2016. We have some BIG surprises planned for the record, more about that later… We will continue our onslaught doing headline tours in South Africa, Egypt and Israel before the end of the year and a handful of very exclusive european shows so if you want to see us destroy things, come on say what’s up before the year is over! Death metal has never been so alive in our hearts and we would like to thank each and every one of you who came out to a show in the last couple years, bought an album or a shirt and supports the band in any way, we could not be doing this without you! Here’s a pretty sweet guitar play through for all you shredders out there!”
Recently Radioactive Metal conducted an interview with ABORTED vocalist Sven de Caluwe’:
Death metal masters ABORTED are true veterans and underground legends. Any fan that doesn’t put them right up there in the top tier with the Cannibals and Obituarys of the world need to go back and crank their latest platter The Necrotic Manifesto. With such a killer record on regular rotation in the RAM offices, we jumped at the chance to speak with Sven de Caluwé during their recent stop in Winnipeg. We got into said record, their “Heatseeker” position, their controversial monicker, and their love of pro wrasslin’. In our News, Views and Tunes, we discuss cheap beer, selfie sticks, and figure out which classic Metal band we’d each be. We compliment all this with some killer tunes from Aborted, REVOCATION, HIGH ON FIRE, and introduce Calgary’s FALSE FLAG in our Indie Spotlight. Horns!!
