Italian prog rock bass player ALBERTO RIGONI (solo artist, TwinSpirits, Lady & The BASS) has released the video for “Jingle Bells Remake”, featuring Enrico Buttol on vocal drums, and Alberto on bass.
Check out Alberto’s “Happy Xmas” -message below:
Dear friends,I would like to thank you for your great support and I wish you and your families a Happy Christmas sharing this video I just released. It’s a funny remake of Jingle Bells featuring Enrico Buttol on vocal drums and me on bass.
Alberto Rigoni’s Press Office has issued the following:
In 2011, Canadian luthier Sheldon Dingwall and Italian bassist Alberto Rigoni (solo artist, TwinSpirits, Lady & The BASS) started working on a new bass. The concept was a very punchy and versatile bass, a mix between the ABZ and Z3 series, with an essential and elegant look. After two years Sheldon and Alberto are glad to announce that a new model has come to light and it’s called “AR5“.
Dingwall AR5 features:
a dual density wood body (Northern Ash/Swamp Ash). Alberto loves this combination (no other Dingwall models have this combination) and thinks that it gives more balance in an “ash” tone territory;
gloss finish (available colors: Black, White, Ferrari Yellow, and Fiesta Red);
3 FD3 Dingwall pickups, with P-Tone in the neck position. Through the 4-position rotary you can get the following pickups combination: a) neck b) bridge and neck in parallel c) dual bridge in series d) bridge. The volume knob is push pull and you can switch from active to passive mode;
3-band active Glockenklang preamp (40hz, 500hz, 18khz). When the bass is in passive mode the active treble control functions as a passive tone control.
Maple fingerboard with Luminlay front and side dot markers (very useful when you are on a dimly lit stage!);
Hipshot hardware and Bass Xtender to drop from B to A;
Alberto Rigoni’s logo on the back of the headstock.
“It’s been awesome working with Alberto on this bass. We put our heads together and assembled all of Alberto’s favorite wood combinations and features to create a bass that performs like nothing else in our lineup. It’s a really nice addition” – Sheldon Dingwall
“In one word… KILLER!” – Alberto Rigoni

After the release of last year’s Three Wise Monkeys, bassist Alberto Rigoni (solo artist, TwinSpirits) is all set to start working on its follow-up album. With three albums under the belt praising prog fusion at its best, Rigoni leaves an indelible mark on the genre that seems to be blossoming recently.
As an avid Dream Theater fan, Alberto Rigoni has been covering and playing the prog giants’ songs since the start of his career. Saying that Erotomania was the first song he learned to play back when he was 16 brought him to pay a tribute to the band by covering this song on his brand new signature model of Dingwall AR5 bass, a mix between the ABZ and Z3 series. More info about this model at: http://www.albertorigoni.com/dingwall-ar5/
See Alberto Rigoni playing Erotomania the a video below.
Commented on Erotomania, Alberto says: “It’s a true instrumental masterpiece, both from its technical and melodic aspects. There’s so much to learn from that song because there are many tempo changes and it’s also great for the stretching.”
Italian prog rock solo bass player ALBERTO RIGONI has released the video of “Kikazaru”, instrumental song from his latest album “Three Wise Monkeys” released by Any and All records in October 2012.
“Kikazaru”, the monkey covering his ears, together with “Mizaru” and “Iwazaru” embody the proverbial Japanese principle “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. The song, explains Rigoni, is characterized by multi layered bass tracks.
The video, directed by Riccardo Ali, also features the cosplayer Gloria Graziati “Sweet Angel”, wearing a 100 years old kimono.

Alberto would like to thanks: Ikiya for the kimonos, Andrea Genovese for the katana and advices on its use and Cinzia Ganeo for the hair styling.
Alberto Rigoni‘s new album “Three Wise Monkeys”(also feat. ex Dream Theater member Kevin Moore, Goran Edman and many others) is now available for free full streaming at http://albertorigoni.bandcamp.com.
“Three Wise Monkeys” was released with worldwide distribution (Nightmare Records, Disk Union, Power Prog, MediaStar, BTF.it etc.) by Any And All Records on October 1, 2012.
“Three Wise Monkeys” is the brand new recording by Alberto Rigoni, progressive rock composer & bass player (TwinSpirits, Lady & THE BASS), who is rapidly gaining audience in the international progressive rock fusion music scene for inventive genre-crossing compositions that paint alluring soundscapes comprehensible to wide varieties of listeners, yet artistically sophisticate and individualistic enough to sustain one’s attention once gained.
Half instrumental and half with vocals, Rigoni’s third solo album is thematically centered around the Japanese folk legend of the “Three Wise Monkeys” and further refines the stylistic contrasts and progressive spirit characterizing 2011’s “Rebirth” (Nightmare Records), concretely separating the mellow jazz, rock fusion, and ambient from the assertive melodic and hard rock and developing each extreme into Rigoni’s most aggressive and most delicate material. His distinctively kaleidoscopic bass playing and compositional grace smoothly passes across borders and carries traits of each of its components, becoming less of a solo project based around the bass guitar than a progressive rock experience.
The album also boasts contributions from great special guests: Göran Edman (ex Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum, Brazen Abbot), Jonas Erixon (Alicate), Kevin Moore (ex Dream Theater, OSI, Chroma Key), Mark Cross (Outloud, ex Helloween, Firewind), Federico Solazzo (Alexia), Alessandro Bertoni (Aphelion), Mistheria (Bruce Dickinson, Rob Rock), Tommy Ermolli (TwinSpirits), Simone Mularoni (DGM, Empyrios), Paolo Valli (session drummer), Paco Barillà (Daniele Liverani), Sebastian Persini (Solo artist, session drummer)
