AMON AMARTH recently launched its very own interactive fan club, called Mobile Backstage, for smartphones, Facebook and for the Web.

“This will allow us to have a more direct communication with our fans, and will speed up the information process for everything such as news and tour dates, as well as give our fans some special peeks behind the scenes of future tours and festivals,” said AMON AMARTH vocalist Johan Hegg.

“When we first thought of creating our own app, we pretty soon realized that the mobile backstage solution was the right thing for us. It’s a combination of mobile and Facebook apps and a web interface that creates a digital fan club and allows us to reach all our fans no matter where they are,” added AMON AMARTH drummer Fredrik Andersson.

AMON AMARTH Frontman To Guest On New EVOCATION Album

Johan Hegg of AMON AMARTH has laid down guest vocals on the forthcoming fourth album from Swedish death metallers EVOCATION. The as-yet-untitled CD is being recorded in part at IF Studios, the IN FLAMES-owned facility in Gothenburg, Sweden, with producer Roberto Laghi (IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR). A late 2012 release is expected via the band’s new label home, Century Media Records.

Commented EVOCATION: “Do we need to say that [Johan] did an amazing job? As always when Johan is around, it’s easy to think that the thunder is roaring outside, when, in fact, it’s just his mighty voice which makes you think so! Thanx, Johan, for an amazing job!”

Explicitly Intense conducted an interview with bassist Ted Lundström of Swedish death metallers AMON AMARTH when the band performed at HMV Forum in London, England on October 23, 2011. You can now watch the chat below.

AMON AMARTH will celebrate its 20th anniversary with five special shows which will take place this August in Germany, Poland and Holland. The band states, “We will perform two whole sets containing songs from our entire career and we will also arrange a meet-and-greet on all shows.”
