ANDREAS NERGÅRD: First Single And Music Video “A Question Of God” Released

In 2010 Norwegian composer/drummer Andreas Nergård begun to write his debutalbum Memorial for a Wish featuring a string of wellknown names from the melodic metal-world. Today the first singel and musicvideo “A Question of God” is released. The song was written by Andreas and the legendary british singer Tony Mills (TNT, ex Shy). Tony also appear in the video. Watch the video below.

The album will be out this spring on the Australian label Battlegod Productions.

Norwegian multi-talented Andreas Nergård debut album “Memorial For A Wish” sample video has been posted online, check it out below. The debut album will be released the coming spring 2013, and the leadsingel will come out before Christmas along with the highclass musicvideo featuring Tony Mills (TNT).

NERGÅRD completes the line-up for the upcoming metal musical Memorial For A Wish act 1

ANDREAS NERGÅRD has issued the following update:

NERGARD announces the final singer for his upcoming metal musical “Memorial For A Wish”. The singer is nonn less than the Norwegian Progmetal icon Nils K. Rue of PAGANS MIND.

“Pagans Mind was one of the first Norwegian Metalbands that came to my interest. I’ve been a fan since 2004 and it’s absolutely fantastic having Nils onboard this project. Right now I can’t wait to release the album!” Andreas says.

The two-act musical will be released on two seperate albums, the first one being almost finnished. The album will most likely be mixed throughout November-December of this year and will be ready for release in early 2012.

The line-up for ACT 1 (CD 1) will be:

Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, ex Gamma Ray)
Göran Edman (ex Yngwie Malmsteen, ex John Norum)

Norwegian composer Andreas Nergard announces another singer for his metal musical “Memorial For A Wish“.

The new guy onboard is the swedish singer Andi Kravljaca, best known for his work with Silent Call and Seventh Wonder.
 
“I’m happy to have Andi onboard” Andreas explains eagerly. “He has been a great inspiration for me during the last couple of years and he has delivered an outstandig performance allready on an 11 minute long track where he’ll sing alongside David Reece and Michele Luppi”.
 
The two-act musical will be released on two seperate albums, the first one being almost finnished.

The storyline of the musical:
 
 
 

“Dublin, Ireland, 1890:

The young man Peter O’Donnell is arrested and wrongfully accused for a burglary which he did not commit. After a short trial he is sentenced to prison for twenty years. In desperation he is forced to leave his pregnant wife behind and live in solitude behind the prison walls.

Twenty long years passes by and Peter is released from jail, only to find out that his beloved wife died many years ago while giving birth to their daughter. The friends he once had turn their backs on him and let him face the grief all alone. This eventually tears him apart. As the hands of sorrow and despair becomes too much to handle he ends up committing suicide.”
 
14th of June 2011 saw the release of the teaser-EP “The Beginning” which featured three songs from the upcoming musical. The songs features performances by Ralf Scheepers, Tony Mills and Mike Vescera. The EP can be found digitally on the net; itunes, amazone, spotify, wimp as well as the FB-page for the project.

Interview with ANDREAS NERGÅRD: Metal Musical “Memorial For A Wish” takes us to Dublin in 1890…

Since May 2010 Norwegian musician and composer ANDREAS NERGÅRD has written material for a metal musical entitled MEMORIAL FOR A WISH. “Musicals and concept albums have always fascinated me,“ Andreas says eagerly. “I created this project because I wanted to make an album with the singers and instrumentalists who have inspired me to start playing music. It’s because of them I’ve become a musician and a composer.”

Some days ago I had a chance to interview Andreas and ask him more about this project. Here’s what we talked about…

Hi Andreas, welcome to Metal Shock Finland! How are you doing today?

Thank you Tarja, I’m fine, sitting here drinking coffee and listening to the awesome new album from SAXON while writing this. It’s a great way to spend the afternoon.

So let’s start from the beginning… when and how all began? I mean how you came up to an idea to compose a metal musical?

The idea for this project first came to me in April 2010. I had an idea of writing an album with all the artists that has inspired me through the years and I wanted the album to be very big in every way; musically, production-wise and in the line-up.
