Following the release of their “No Tears” MCD, on Inverse Records, ANTAGONIST ZERO have kicked off tonight on their Tears Over Baltics Tour, hitting Finland, Estonia, Poland and Latvia, from 4th to 12th September. Check out the show dates below.

“No Tears” consists of five songs: three originals and two covers. The originals are a harbinger of an upcoming full-length album, demonstrating new elements in ANTAGONIST ZERO’s music – such as the title track’s this-will-get-stuck-in-your-head riffs, Profound Oblivion’s wrecking ball groove and “Suru”, which is sung completely in Finnish. The two cover songs are familiar to listeners from the band’s live shows: Doom: VS’s melodic doom suits the band like a glove in the form of The Lachrymal Sleep, while Missä muruseni on, by Finnish pop queen Jenni Vartiainen, has received a workover which has already charmed live audiences all over Europe, Russia and China.

As the Finnish summer draws to an end, the once white nights grow darker and colder by the day. ANTAGONIST ZERO delivers a fitting soundtrack for the season, complementing the darkening skies with a blend of atmospheric melodies and aggressive melancholy. On August 14 the band’s latest offering, No Tears MCD, is released via Inverse Records. No Tears continues on the path set by Antagonist Zero’s previous releases, the critically acclaimed Doomed and Nighttime Harmony, blending together elements of doom, death and post shades of metal.

No Tears consists of five songs: three originals and two covers. Violent Journey Records issues the following:

We are thrilled to announce that ANTAGONIST ZERO is heading to China! This will be the last tour we are promoting the Doomed album. Unfortunately Fredde won`t be able to take part on this tour so the bass duties will be handled by our good old friend Jouni Korhonen (Cavus, Coprolith).

After this China invation we will start the pre-production for the new album and in December we`ll enter the COH studio once again!!! We will keep you updated during the process. Reach out for the stars, to achieve eternal night!

To go along with these darkening autumn nights, Antagonist Zero release their 1st full-length album, “Doomed”, on 28 September 2012.

Clocking in at 40 minutes, “Doomed” contains five tracks of the band’s self-styled “catatonic metal” – a melodic and atmospheric mix of elements from different metal genres, such as doom, death/black and post-metal.

The Porvoo, Finland band’s members are seasoned musicians from the local metal underground, known from such bands as Adastra, Cavus, Coprolith and Lost in Tears.

The band’s debut EP “Nighttime Harmony” has been very well received, gathering excellent reviews from around the world.

To go along with these darkening autumn nights, Finland’s ANTAGONIST ZERO release their first full-length album, Doomed, on 28 September 2012. The album is released through Violent Journey Records.

Clocking in at 40 minutes, Doomed contains five tracks of the band’s self-styled “catatonic metal” – a melodic and atmospheric mix of elements from different metal genres, such as doom, death/black and post-metal.

The album release party will be held in Helsinki and Porvoo on 28 and 29 September, respectively. Antagonist Zero will also play several live shows in Finland and abroad late 2012, for example in Riga, Latvia on 5 October and in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia 17–18 November.

The band comes from Porvoo, Finland. It’s members are seasoned musicians from the local metal underground, known from such bands as Adastra, Cavus, Coprolith and Lost in Tears.

The band’s debut EP “Nighttime Harmony” has been very well received, gathering excellent reviews from around the world.

ANTAGONIST ZERO To Release Debut EP Next Month

VIOLENT JOURNEY has issued the following:

Antagonist Zero is a five-piece metal band from Porvoo, Finland, formed in 2010. Despite the band’s young age, the members have many years of experience playing in different bands, such as Adastra, Cavus, Coprolith and Lost In Tears.

The band describes their music as “catatonic metal”, which includes elements from different types of metal genres, namely doom as well as death/black and post metal.

Their debut release Nighttime Harmony comes out in 14.3.2012. This three song Digital-EP is only a taste of the band’s material, of which there is more than enough for a whole album.
