In 2019, ANTIPOPE joined the Fertile Crescent community, ready to release their newest recording, “Apostle of Infinite Joy”. ANTIPOPE‘s 5th full-length album contains 8 full-bodied tracks, with heavily esoteric and thought provoking lyrics. On “Apostle of Infinite Joy”, the melodic and moody gothic shade of Antipope is coherently balanced traditional heavy metal elements, leaving listeners to bathe in the aura of their dark musicianship. Fertile Crescent Productions is proud to announce Finland’s ANTIPOPE as their first signing! In the fall of 2019, ANTIPOPE captured the interest of the community at Fertile Crescent thanks to an invitation from Grand Sounds PR. The long-running extreme metal group have accepted a multi-album recording contract and production for a new CD release has been confirmed! “Apostle of Infinite Joy” has been scheduled for release February 21st, 2020, by Fertile Crescent Productions. Antipope’s 5th full-length contains 8 full-bodied tracks abundant in catchy riffing, occult imagery, and an original style unlike many others in modern heavy metal. ANTIPOPE effectively sweeps progressive rhythms wrapped in gothic doom towards the aggressive edges of black and death metal, making for delighted fans of all heavy metal genres. As main composer Mikko Myllykangas once embellished upon the Antipope sound and style, “It is metal, for sure, but that’s pretty much all you need to know. Would more words make you feel safer?
