DRAGONFORCE have issued via their Official Facebook page, that their Drummer Gee Anzalone is forced to miss the band’s upcoming U.S. tour due to health issues and will be temporarily replaced by Aquiles Priester (ANGRA, TONY MACALPINE, W.A.S.P.).
“Everyone please send Gee a get well message! DragonForce are sad to announce that drummer Gee Anzalone will not be performing on the upcoming US tour. Gee has been hospitalised for Myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle. Virtuoso drummer Aquiles Priester (Angra, Tony MacAlpine) will perform on the upcoming Dragonforce US Tour while Gee recovers. Guitarist Herman Li said, “We will miss our brother Gee on the upcoming US tour, but health is most important. We wish Gee a speedy recovery and we know he will be back on tour with us soon. We want to thank our friend Aquiles for stepping up and helping us out on short notice.”
Gee updated earlier today about his health situation:
“Hey everyone! Thank you very much for the huge support i’m receiving from your messages 😊 I’m still at the hospital at the moment, health is getting better day after day, medics say that I need rest and relax, at least for the next weeks. I just want to send a HUGE THANKS to my brother Aquiles Priester that will play drums with Dragonforce on this upcoming US Tour, thanks for the help he is giving us, getting this last minute call! About me, very soon i’ll be back home (i’m at hospital since the 22nd feb.) and I’ll follow my brothers in tour through Herman’s live streams on twitch.tv/hermanli 🥳 I will do videogames streaming during the next days through my twitch.tv/geeanzalone, so I will stand by you all anyway, even if i’ll be not on stage playing! Are you guys with me? 😁
Love you all 👊🏻😉”
