Finnish melodic metal force ARION have released a brand new lyric video for ‘From An Empire To A Fall,’the original third single from their acclaimed new album “The Light That Burns The Sky” (out now via Reigning Phoenix Music). Set against a cinematic, post-apocalyptic backdrop, the video captures the song’s explosive energy and themes of defiance, struggle, and rebirth.
Guitarist and songwriter Iivo Kaipainen shares: “‘From An Empire To A Fall’ is finally getting a video of its own! This song is about former underdogs feeling empowered and showing their big bad opponent what they’re made of. Fire with fire!”
Fuelled by thunderous drumming, searing riffs and a soaring chorus, ‘From An Empire To A Fall’ is one of the standout tracks on “The Light That Burns The Sky,” a record hailed for its modern melodic metal mastery. Critics have praised the album as “an engaging exploration of the possibilities of contemporary metal” (Chaoszine, FI) and “a next step in the band’s career” (Markus’ Heavy Music Blog, DE). The album features production by Matias Kupiainen (STRATOVARIUS) and mastering by Ermin Hamidovic(ARCHITECTS, PERIPHERY).

About ARION
Formed in 2011, ARION first made a significant mark on the metal scene with their debut album “Last Of Us” in 2014. Their sophomore effort, “Life Is Not Beautiful,” featuring the breakthrough single ‘At The Break Of Dawn [feat. Elize Ryd],’ solidified their status and earned them major support slots with Finnish bands like BATTLE BEAST, WINTERSUN, and SONATA ARCTICA.
The release of “Vultures Die Alone” in 2021 during the pandemic propelled their burgeoning career even further, leading to extensive touring in subsequent years. While supporting established metal bands such as GLORYHAMMER and BLOODBOUND, the quintet also performed at a selection of prestigious European festivals and celebrated their US live debut at ProgPower USA in 2022, before closing their “Vultures Die Alone” live chapter supporting prog metal giants DREAM THEATER in 2023.
With their new album “The Light That Burns The Sky” ready for release and years of touring experience, including many headlining dates in their home country, ARION are poised to extend the reach of their melodic metal legacy worldwide. The group additionally celebrated the album’s launch with a Central European co-headlining tour alongside their label mates BRAINSTORM as well as more Finnish shows with heavyweights SONATA ARCTICA and STRATOVARIUS.
ARION, hailing from the prolific Finnish metal scene, have just released their latest single ‘Like The Phoenix I Will Rise,’ complete with a music video now available on YouTube. This track, serving as the fourth single from their upcoming album, showcases the band’s commitment to the melodic metal genre.
Set to release their fourth studio album “The Light That Burns The Sky” on February 28, 2025, ARION continue to build on their legacy. The band, initiated by guitarist/songwriter Iivo Kaipainen in 2011, includes notable members such as drummer Topias Kupiainen, brother of STRATOVARIUS guitarist Matias Kupiainen, emphasising the band’s deep roots in Finland’s metal history. The album will be available through Ranka Kustannus in their home country, Avalon Label / Marquee Inc. in Asia, and RPM in all other territories.
“One of my absolute favourites from the new album, ‘Like The Phoenix I Will Rise’ has everything you could expect from ARION: from hard-rocking vocals and technical riffing to epic orchestrations and a fiery guitar solo. The lyrics take the listener through an epic, fantastical journey filled with easter-egg-like references to some of my favourite fantasy franchises. The chorus ties all of these together with its themes of empowerment, fighting for what you love and making your dreams come true. I had an incredibly fun time writing this one! This song was the absolute must-select pick for announcing our signing with Reigning Phoenix Music due to its uplifting spirit and theme of reaching for your dreams and goals along with its title,” states founding member Iivo.
“I’ve already been contributing to ARION’s success story in the past, and seeing our paths cross again makes we even more happy. Their unique blend of melodic metal with a modern twist has it all to win fans of the genre but also beyond the melodic metal boundaries, and with “The Light That Burns The Sky,” another shiny, if not THE shiniest part of their catalogue so far is just about to see the light of day. That’s why I’m immensely positive that this record and their collaboration with us at RPM, who are an extremely motivated team reaching for the throne like the band, will open many new doors to trendsetting opportunities for ARION. Welcome to the family!” adds RPM managing director Jochen Richert.
“The Light That Burns The Sky” is a collaborative production, featuring songs written by Iivo Kaipainen, production and mixing by Matias Kupiainen of STRATOVARIUS with renowned sound engineers Jacob Hansen and Dan Lancaster collaborating on the song ‘Wings Of Twilight.’ The mastering was handled by Ermin Hamidovic of Systematic Productions, and the album boasts vibrant artwork by Giannis Nakos.

Following the recent, previously-released single, entitled“Wings of Twilight”, featuring a guest performance of AD INFINITUM singer Melissa Bonny, today, Finland’s melodic metal frontrunners ARION are sharing their brand new, powerful track “Wildfire”!
After skyrocketing out of nowhere to the public eye as teenagers with the Finnish Eurovision qualification program UMK and now three critically acclaimed studio albums under their belt, ARION seem to be gearing up for a new full-length, to be released in the hopefully not so distant future.
“Wildfire” was written by ARIONguitarist Iivo Kaipainen, and was produced by Matias Kupiainen (Stratovarius). Listen to the song, out now on all digital providers at: https://arion.bfan.link/wildfire
Says livo about the new track: “Wildfire: the first song I wrote for the new album is also one of my favorites from the new album. The frighteningly infectious main riff with an equally catchy chorus, which is what everybody listening to the song points out, are the building blocks for a song that’s as metal as metal can be. Wildfire made its live debut at the world-renowned 70 000 tons of metal cruise proving to be exactly the most fun and the most insane live song we can think of!”
Since their formation in 2011, ARION stood out due to their incredible musicianship and songwriting craft. After their headstart, they released three studio albums which gained impressive streaming numbers and toured with bands like Dream Theater, Gloryhammer, Battle Beast or Sonata Arctica to name just a few. Their latest single releases mark a new chapter in the exciting story of ARION, so better watch out for more news and album details to follow soon!

The young Finns from ARION have presented one of their heaviest songs to date with their new single/video “I Love To Be Your Enemy”.
Just recently the band around guitarist Iivo Kaipainen had released a terrific power ballad with “In The Name Of Love” – including a superb video.
Now closing in on their 1st decade of existence (which saw the band play a successful European tour as special guest of Battle Beast), the fabulous fivesome of Finns get punchy. Their third outing “Vultures Die Alone” (out April 9th) redefines melodic metal for 2021 and beyond. Beautifully balanced, meticulously honed, and streamlined to modern metal perfection, Arion’s 3rd album “Vultures Die Alone” is an extremely addictive album.
It is like a 10–round bout against a true heavyweight contender… who goes at you with kid gloves.
Finnish metal shooting stars ARION today proudly present the official music video for their latest single, “Bloodline”. The track features guest vocals by none other than Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast). Noora also appears in the new video of course. The clip was directed by André Rodriguez Films.
Arion’s latest album „Life Is Not Beautiful“ was released in October 2018. The band has been special guest on Battle Beast’s European tour in 2019.
