Nuclear Blast has issued that Tuomas Saukkonen – front man of Finnish melodic death metallers BEFORE THE DAWN, who’s known for his inexhaustible drive towards creating music – has inked an official endorsement deal with TEHO (Finnish for “power”) – “the most Finnish energy drink in the world”!

Saukkonen comments: “I feel honoured and extremely happy to be supported by my most favourite energy drink of all. I’ve never felt a lack of energy, but as of now, I will be powered to the maximum!”

“Pitch-Black Universe”, the new video from Finnish dark melodic death metal icons BEFORE THE DAWN, can be seen below. The song comes off the band’s new album, “Rise Of The Phoenix”, which will be released on April 27 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Commented directors OneManArmy Productions: “The video was shot in an abandoned garage in probably one of the ugliest towns in Finland (Kouvola) which seems to be made completely out of concrete so the scenery was pretty much ideal. It was very pleasant to work with a band that was cool with playing with real fire instead of relying on digital effects and we managed to cause only one small second-degree burn to the hand of Tuomas — so it all went pretty well!” Source: Blabbermouth.net

The second teaser for “Rise Of The Phoenix”, the new album from Finnish dark melodic death metal icons BEFORE THE DAWN, can be seen below. The CD will be released on April 27 via Nuclear Blast Records.

After the departure of Lars Eikin (bass/clean vocals) and Atte Palokangas (drums), Finland’s BEFORE THE DAWN experienced a rebirth of sorts. What could formerly be described as dark metal started to flow much more into melodic death metal waters.

Armed with new members Pyry Hanski (bass) and Joonas Kauppinen (drums), BEFORE THE DAWN will surprise you with a totally new, incredibly thrilling listening experience on their seventh studio album.

The perfectly fitting phoenix symbolism was chosen prudently as mainman, vocalist and mastermind Tuomas Saukkonen explains. “Massive changes in the line-up during 2011 ended an era of great frustration and brought back 110% dedication and professionalism into the band,” he says. “The newfound energy and motivation steered us into a victorious European tour and made it possible to produce the strongest, fastest, heaviest and definitely the most epic BEFORE THE DAWN album so far!”

NUCLEAR BLAST has issued the following:

Finnish dark- /melodic death metal icons BEFORE THE DAWN have creamed off the profits big-time at this year’s Metal Awards of their home country!

The 8th annual Helsinki Metal Meeting, the most important Finnish metal music expo / indoor festival, took place at the Cable Factory in Helsinki from Friday, February 17 to Saturday, February 18 with about 3800 metal heads taking part in the festivities. Not only that BEFORE THE DAWN made it into the top-10 of every category, but main man Tuomas Saukkonen has also officially been honoured as “Musician Of The Year” for the 2nd time in a row! The honoree proudly states:

“After over a decade of blood, sweat and tears for the art of song writing with the result of 14 albums and almost 200 songs recorded I feel deeply honoured by the Finnish Metal Awards “musician of the year” victory for the 2nd time in a row! It is easy to do well when you get to work with the best guys in the industry and have the best fans in the world!!! ”
