“Coming Home” is the last song on “Dharma”, debut album from the Slovenian metal/hardcore band BEFORE THE MURDER. It is the denouement of the main protagonist’s (acted by Marko Duplišak) story, who sets off on journey in order to find a purpose to his life. The song describes his feelings on the oh-so-familiar path leading to his old family house, his arrival at home and the conflict with his disappointed sister. Through the various shooting locations that can be seen in the video (filmed, directed and produced by Marko Duplišak), the protagonist’s journey is depicted in a nutshell. On his way home, he rids himself of all the objects that bind him to his past, which symbolizes the growth of his character. These objects stand for several events that have happened to him throughout the whole album. The mood of the video moves along with the song’s dynamics and reaches its peak when the protagonist frees himself of his last items and starts running towards the path leading to home.
