FOGHAT: Score Big On Billboard Chart With New Release

Back in the ‘70s, FOGHAT was a regular presence on the Billboard charts – on the strength of such hit albums as “Fool for the City”, “LIVE”, “Stone Blue” and many others.  And now, the veteran classic rock act is back where they belong – for the first time since 1983, Foghat is back on Billboard with “Under the Influence” (debuting at #17 on “Hard Rock Albums,” and at #40 on “Independent Albums”).

Released on June 24th, “Under the Influence”, produced by Grammy winner Tom Hambridge, draws from Foghat’s collective musical influences, as the band not only brought in some special guests from their past,  who helped launch and inspire the Foghat story, but also invited some new friends into the mix to continue the journey of this never idle band.

And to celebrate this welcome chart positioning and critical success of “Under the Influence,” the band will be doing what they’ve done best for decades – hitting the road hard, and bringing their unmistakable rock to a concert venue near you.

ACT OF DEFIANCE, featuring ex-Megadeth members, Chris Broderick (guitars) and Shawn Drover (drums), have debuted at #24 on the Billboard Top 200 Current charts with their inaugural recording effort, “Birth And The Burial”, via Metal Blade Records. The other chart number positions are listed below.

BATTLECROSS‘ latest album, “War of Will,” has debuted at:
  • #134 on the Billboard Top 200 chart,
  • #118 on the top current albums chart,
  • #2 on the heatseeker chart,
  • #15 on the current hard music chart,
  • #16 on the hard music overall chart, and
  • #32 on the independent albums chart.

It didn’t stop here though, as the band also debuted in Canada’s Soundscan charts coming in at:

  • #178 Top 200 Current and

RUSH’s ‘Clockwork Angels’ Opens With More Than 100K Copies, Lands At No. 2 On BILLBOARD Chart

RUSH‘s first new collection of original material in over five years and their first studio release via Anthem/Roadrunner Records, “Clockwork Angels”, sold 103,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart.

RUSH‘s 18th studio album, “Snakes & Arrows”, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard album chart in May 2007 with sales of 93,000 copies. The disc was the first collection of all-new RUSH material since 2002’s “Vapor Trails” and the 27th RUSH release to make the Billboard album chart. The band’s chart peak was in 1993, when “Counterparts” debuted at No. 2.

The recording of “Clockwork Angels” began in April 2010 with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, DEFTONES) — who also collaborated with the band on their last studio album, 2007’s “Snakes & Arrows”.

Lyrically, “Clockwork Angels” chronicles a young man’s quest across a lavish and colorful world of steampunk and alchemy as he attempts to follow his dreams. The story features lost cities, pirates, anarchists, an exotic carnival, and a rigid Watchmaker who imposes precision on every aspect of daily life. The novelization of “Clockwork Angels” is being written by science fiction writer Kevin J. Anderson in collaboration with RUSH drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.
