BLACK STAR RIDERS will be storming stages across the U.S. on their first run in support of their highly-acclaimed debut album, All Hell Breaks Loose. Featuring veteran rock musicians Ricky Warwick (THIN LIZZY / The Almighty) on vocals, Scott Gorham (THIN LIZZY / 21 Guns) on guitar, Damon Johnson (THIN LIZZY / Alice Cooper / Brother Cane) on guitar, Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY / Ted Nugent / Whitesnake / Blue Murder) on bass, and Jimmy DeGrasso (Alice Cooper / Megadeth / Y&T) on drums, the tour will launch in San Antonio, Texas on May 1st and wind its way to Poughkeepsie, New York on June 19th. According to Classic Rock Magazine, BLACK STAR RIDERS and EUROPE will play exclusive headline sets at this year’s Steelhouse festival in Ebbw Vale, Wales on the weekend of July 19 and 20.
They’re joined by The Answer, The Graveltones, Bernie Marsden, Buffalo Summer, Tax The Heat, Heaven & Earth, Black Wold and Buck & Evans, with more to be announced in due course.
Thin Lizzy offshoot Black Star Riders recently announced they’d be recording their second album with Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott in the production seat. Vocalist Ricky Warwick says: “What a cool festival to headline – as a band with Celtic roots, it’s always great to turn it way up loud through the valleys of Wales. All hell will break loose!”
Latest bill additions The Answer will hit the Steelhouse stage after completing a 32-date European tour and a set at Download. They’ll release a single entitled New Horizon next month.
Steelhouse tickets are on sale now costing £65 for the weekend or £40 for single days, with camping an additional £10.

Having played in Europe and Scandinavia to thousands of fans for the past year, these four shows will mark the first live performances on U.S. soil supporting the band’s debut album All Hell Breaks Loose, which was released last May & debuted on the American Billboard Heatseekers chart at #5 (#19 during its second week) & the Billboard Hard Music chart at #19.
BLACK STAR RIDERS members are scheduled to enter the studio in Dublin, Ireland in October 2014 to start recording their sophomore album. Taking over the production reins will be DEF LEPPARD front man Joe Elliott. The second member of the dream team will be long-time DEF LEPPARD sound engineer Ronan McHugh.
BSR vocalist Ricky Warwick shares why Joe was tapped for this album:
“Joe Elliott’s passion, enthusiasm for music, as a fan, artist and friend is unquestionable and Ronan McHugh is a phenomenal engineer. Personally having worked with these guys before, it was a no-brainer when they said they would like to produce the new BSR album. We are confident that this will be a huge leap forward in the evolution of the band.”
“Having worked with Scott [Gorham] on the THIN LIZZY remixes a few years ago and having produced Ricky’s first two solo albums, I’m looking forward to taking our musical journey together even further,” states Joe Elliott. “We’re aiming to make a serious leap forward with the next album and I’m proud to be able to contribute to the next chapter in the BSR story.”
BLACK STAR RIDERS guitarist Damon Johnson adds: “We are all excited about working with Joe; he is like part of the family. And recording this album in Ireland is a special treat for us.”
