“‘In Love With The Pain is one of the unexpected classics that we didn’t even know we needed! We wrote thatsong years ago with a couple friends of ours, Scott Lindsey and Stephen Styles, with the intention to pitch it toanother artist. However, it kept making its way back into our minds while listening to old demos. So we decidedto give it a chance and re-worked it to put our BSC stamp on it, and we are so happy we did! It’s a favorite! “
The Human Condition was completed mere days before the COVID-19 lockdown was imposed and as events progressed, it became apparent that the album the Kentucky band were completing featured lyrics that were eerily prescient.
“There was a real urgency and fear of the unknown during those sessions – it was a scary time,” recalls drummer, John Fred Young. “Every song on this album tells a story of the experiences we all go through – our happiness, our struggles, and how we have to adapt.” The album’s opening lyrics are: “People, people, your attention please, I need to tell you about a new disease” (from ‘Ringin’ In My Head). The song was written 4 years ago, but powerfully captures the hysteria around the COVID-19 outbreak. On “Push Down & Turn,” BSC masterfully use space to achieve crushing swamp-metal dynamics. The stirring track talks about mental health, boldly advocating getting treatment if you’re struggling. “I suffer from manic depression and I have severe anxiety. I want to convey it’s okay to go to a doctor and talk about these issues. There is no shame or stigma there, ” singer/guitarist Chris Robertson shares.
BLACK STONE CHERRY have announced a livestream event that will broadcast on October 30th, timed to the album release date of the band’s new studio record THE HUMAN CONDITION. Titled “LIVE FROM THE SKY,” the event will be staged at SkyPac in Bowling Green, KY. The show is sponsored by Black Bear Energy (www.blackbearb12.com). The band will be performing repertoire from the new studio album for the first time, along with hits, deep cuts and fan favorites.
Tickets and assorted bundles are available for those in U.K. and across Europe HERE. Fans can create their own bundles from a list of a la carte items that will be hosted at point of purchase. All “Live From The Sky” dedicated merchandise will only be available while the show is streaming. Ticketing is priced at $10/£10 per territory where the broadcast is available. “Ringin’ In My Head was a song we had originally started to write back in 2017 and for whatever reason, it didn’t makethe album at the time, but we loved the riff and melody. Fast forward to 2020, we were in the studio recording “The HumanCondition” and we decided to re-visit the song and re-work it a bit. It’s eerie that it fits into the current state of the world sowell right now. It’s almost like the song knew when it should have been recorded and released, and we find beauty in that!”

The Human Condition was self-produced and tracked in bassist Jon Lawhon‘s recording facility, Monocle Studios. The guys went in with 4 songs, wrote some new ones and recorded a few beloved, unreleased favourites. For the first time, the band opted to not record basics live and instead meticulously multi tracked. Each member endured gruelling sessions to ensure the collective studio mindset of achieving “epic performances.” The results are stunning; the grooves feel organic, the riffs are mountainous, the performances are urgent and the hooks shine gloriously. Sonically, The Human Condition is one of BSC’s most visceral and hooky releases. Guitarist/vocalist Ben Wells explains, “With this one, we cranked up the amps, the drums are in your face, and there are some really heavy riffs. After 19 years and 7 albums, we wanted to prove that we still kick ass. This album feels like a rebirth.”

Just recently, Black Stone Cherry & Monster Truck joined forces for THE CHERRY TRUCK BAND. Today they have released a new charity single ‘Love Become Law’. All proceeds to go to Black Lives Matter and The Boys and Girls Club of America.

Back in mid-May, as the COVID-19 pandemic was spreading throughout the world and as many of us were deep in lockdown, Kentucky arena rockers Black Stone Cherry and Canadian hard-rocking juggernauts Monster Truck decided that distance wasn’t going to stop them from creating something beautiful for a good cause.
Following Black Stone Cherry’s YouTube series the Cherry Chats, the two bands joined forces over a series of live Zoom video calls to write a song from scratch, allowing fans unprecedented access to watch as the creativity unfold from the safety of their homes. Thus, The Cherry Truck Band was born, and out of those sessions came a special charity single ‘Love Become Law.’
All proceeds from this single will be split between two charities, chosen by the bands themselves – Black Stone Cherry will be donating their proceeds to The Boys and Girls Club of America and Monster Truck to Black Lives Matter.You can purchase the song here
Talking about how the song came together; Black Stone Cherry said; “The idea of The Cherry Truck Band can honestly be credited to the pandemic that our world is in. We saw tour after tour being cancelled and so many bands were turning to live streaming performances online. We put our heads together with our great friends in Monster Truck and decided to do something we hadn’t seen any other bands do to help pass the time while still entertaining fans. That idea was to write a song, LIVE to the world and divide it up into segments to show our fans the process of writing and creating. We had never done this with another full band before, let alone do it while we’re live streaming. It was incredibly exciting and fun and we are so proud of the song and more importantly, it’s meaning! This song is about uniting, being and living as one, and most importantly, loving each and every person that walks this planet. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did creating it for you!”
Adding Monster Truck frontman/bassist Jon ‘Marv’ Harvey continues; “The Cherry Truck Band started with a bunch of friends getting together over long distances to create something memorable, meaningful and joyous. Over the five weekly episodes, our entire world basically turned upside down. The people were rising up. The people were tired of being oppressed. The people were tired of suffering for doing nothing wrong. The people were ready to force change. This is our anthem in solidarity to those fighting for basic rights. This is our voices saying, ‘we love you, we hear you, we respect and love you’. Black lives matter. Without the impact of black culture, there would be no modern music, period. Respect, protect and celebrate diversity. Our world depends on it”.
Monster Truck will be donating to Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. Talking about donating to The Boys and Girls Club of America, Black Stone Cherry explain; “The Boys and Girls Club is an organization we feel very strongly about because they are ensuring young people that success is within reach no matter who they are, where they come from, race, etc.. We love that the Boys and Girls Club is helping teach responsibility, education, and instilling a hard work ethic at a young age so that these kids can grow up and be proud of themselves and what they have accomplished! We have donated to our community club for several years and we are honoured to help out by donating the Boys and Girls Club of America where we know in our hearts they are helping to make a difference in our young generation.”

Fans will get the chance to see, live, first-hand, upfront and personal the two collaborate on writing a song together. Getting a unique insight into how the creative process works, fly on the wall style.
The idea emerged from Black Stone Cherry’s, ‘Cherry Chat’ episode with Monster Truck’s Jon ‘Marv’ Harvey just over a week ago. The idea blossomed from their conversation together with our Kentucky brothers saying; “We’re so happy to be hanging out with our fellow riff lovers in Monster Truck again- even if it has to be virtually for now! Writing a song with another band while live-streaming the entire process to the world is something neither group has ever done- so we are excited to see what happens and where it will go! It’s time to unleash the Cherry Truck Band!”
Talking about it Harvey of Monster Truck said; “We couldn’t be more excited for BSC to pop our collaboration Cherry! Haha! Can’t wait to write some serious rock n roll and come out the other side with a banger. People will be singing this tune for the rest of their lives.”
The web series will be on both bands Facebook pages every Wednesday at 23:00 for fans to view.
The virtual happy hour Cherry Chats see the guys speak to different bands on different topics. Chris, Ben, Jon, and John-Fred jumped on to a video call with their buddies Halestorm in episode 1 where they talked about how they are writing songs in quarantine, tour dreams, and pranks.
