BlowUp Vol. 2 is taking place 14 -15 October 2016 in Helsinki, Finland. The venue is Korjaamo Culture Factory, one of the largest independent art centres in the Nordic countries. Korjaamo was founded in an old tram depot in Töölö in 2004, and now hosts a concert venue as well as six smaller creative spaces for meetings and seminars plus movie theatre. The Vaunuhalli building is also home to Helsinki City Museum’s Tram Museum.

Helsinki based doom, psychadelic, dark metal festival, Blowup Vol 2. has unveiled first bands for its lineup.
Blowup Festival is all about offering experiences that differ from the over crowded mainstream scene. This year, the festival has also broadened it’s offering with the first “Blowup Kino” evening. The Kino evening will feature the legendary “Titicut Follies” movie, by Frenderick Wiseman which was released back in 1967. The movie tells of life from Bridgewater, Massachusetts mental penitentiary and was only given permission to be screened in the US in 1992. The duo of Veli-Matti O. “Läjä” Äijälä and Markku Leinonen has composed new music to go with the movie and will play live as the movie is screened at Korjaamo’s movie theatre. The theatre can only fit 120, so tickets are expected to go fast.
