Century Media Records have announced that BUTCHER BABIES followed their breakout summer on the the ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL as direct support for the mighty DANZIG on his 25th anniversary tour this fall – now they’re gearing up to make 2014 even bigger, opening the new year as direct support for IN THIS MOMENT on THE HELLPOP II tour.

HELLPOP II is set to launch January 2 in Portland, OR, and the the 16-city tour wraps January 25 in Cape Coral, FL. BUTCHER BABIES will serve as direct support for Century Media Records labelmates and HELLPOP headliners IN THIS MOMENT, and will be joined on the road by support acts DEVOUR THE DAY and ALL HAIL THE YETI. According to Century Media Records, Los Angeles based metal band BUTCHER BABIES are proud to announce that they have been confirmed to support The Defiled on the “No Place Like Home” tour in the UK. They will hit the road from February 8th – 18th, bringing also a very hot opening act from the US; The Killing Lights, featuring Michael Vampire of Vampires Everywhere!

“We’ve been itching to get back to the U.K since our 2012 Download festival appearance, so we were thrilled when we were asked to join The Defiled on their February tour.”

Mexico’s Hell And Heaven Metal Fest 2013 is being held in Guadalajara, Mexico May 18th and 19th at the Esplanade adjacent to the Arena VFG. The premise of this festival, apart from presenting the most important groups of the genre in the world, was to promote national talent, and becoming a benchmark for heavy rock lovers in Latin America. Therefore, the scenarios presented, in addition to 16 international groups, 45 national bands championed various styles within the heavy rock, from various regions of Mexico.

BUTCHER BABIES Bringing ‘Slut Metal’ To The Masses

BUTCHER BABIES‘ video for the song “Mr. Slowdeath” can be seen below. The track, produced by Mudrock (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, GODSMACK), comes off the band’s self-released EP, which will be on sale everywhere May 29.

Fronted by Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd — former Playboy TV and radio personalities that are rarely seen wearing more than strategically placed electrical tape and a gallon or so of blood — and backed by Henry Flury (AMEN) on lead guitar, Jason Klein (AZDACHAO) on bass, and Chris Warner (SCARS OF TOMORROW) on drums, the BUTCHER BABIES describe their sound as “heavy fucking metal co-fronted by two girls that don’t give a shit, and backed by three guys with writing techniques so different that they complement each other. Between our combined influences of thrash, punk, experimental, death, and nu-metal, we’ve managed to create our own sound that, in a nutshell, is pure sex, blood, and rock and roll.”

When asked by Revolver magazine why the BUTCHER BABIES refer to themselves as “slut metal” and what the hell “slut metal” exactly is, Shepherd said, “We can’t go balls out — so we go tits out! When girls are perceived as sexual or outspoken, they get labeled sluts, but we embrace those qualities and bring them to our music as well. BUTCHER BABIES is true slut metal: We’re doing what we want, how we want.”

On the topic of BUTCHER BABIES‘ goals, Harvey told Revolver, “To bring slut metal to the masses — duh! In all seriousness, we feel like we are just touching on what we are capable of, and we want to continue to grow, get our music out there, and get on the road! There are so many repressed people out there that need to see a show like ours.
