Back with a vengeance and hell-bent on destruction, Norwegian death metallers, CADAVER, are back in business and ready to reign. Edder & Bile, the first full length from this band’s new incarnation of Anders Odden’s original, extreme metal vision, was unleashed unto the world in November of 2020 via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band release the lyric video for the single “Deathmachine” which can be seen here:
CADAVER comments, “‘Deathmachine’ was one of those old songs Anders wanted to update and refresh with the new born version of CADAVER. The original was written for the CADAVER INC. (1999-2001) era when the apocalyptic feel of the millennium was very important. ‘Deathmachine’ captures the rawness of death metal with a melodic sensibility that prove that CADAVER isn’t only a-tonal and super fast, but also has a more sinister and dwelling side to their music. Enjoy.”
Edder & Bile was produced by the band as well as Adair Daufembach who also handled the engineering. The album was recorded and mixed at Northwood Sound Studios in Hollywood, CA. The album features vocal cameos from death metal icons Kam Lee (MASSACRE) and Jeff Becerra (POSSESSED) ensuring that this crushing rebirth has underground credentials to spare. The photo for the artwork was taken by Hannah Verbeuren and the layout was created by Justin Bartlett.
Back with a vengeance and hell-bent on destruction, Norwegian death metallers, CADAVER, are back in business and ready to reign. Two weeks ago, Edder & Bile, the first full length from this band’s new incarnation of Anders Odden’s original, extreme metal vision, was unleashed unto the world via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band release the guitar playthrough for the single “Let Me Burn” which can be seen here:
“‘Let Me Burn’ came to me at night, after one of our intense studio days in January 2019.” comments Anders Odden.“I just got the opening riff and it led me out on this path that became the song. It was raining in North Hollywood that night and the whole feel of doom and gloom was shining through. I had with me a recording of my fireplace in Norway and knew this would make an awesome ending to the album. The song is about how we all will end up as ashes no matter who we are and what we do. It’s a nihilistic theme that means even more to me now after facing death with my cancer battle. When I was close to dying this winter, I always thought of having this song played super loud at my funeral with all the people having to read the lyrics during the ceremony. As I am not quite dead yet. I use it to tell you I cheated death, for now. Let Me Burn. I have no fear!”

Anders Odden comments, “I met Dirk Verbeuren during the 70000 Tons Of Metal festival in 2014. He was sitting in for Frost in SATYRICON and we played 2 shows together. It turned out that Dirk was a huge CADAVER fan and at the time I had several songs in the making for what I thought might be a solo album. The idea of kicking this all into the 3rd version of CADAVER came into life and we started to share ideas. We had about 10 songs by the time Dirk was on tour in Europe with MEGADETH in 2016. They played in my neighborhood and we spent the afternoon jamming. CADAVER was reborn. I started to pile up ideas for new tracks and time went by. I really wanted this to sound like CADAVER and be up to date, yet timeless. The music is what we both consider as death metal. I have my own way of writing riffs and he has his own way of expressing them on drums that just fits and sounds great. We finally found the time to hit the studio in early 2019 and recorded the album in LA where Dirk lives and works. The music just sparks of energy and freshness from the experience we had jamming together. We are truly kindred spirits and are in this for the long run for sure. ‘Edder & Bile’ is the manifestation of our commitment to music and the start of everlasting life for the old CADAVER.”
Dirk Verbeuren states, “‘Hallucinating Anxiety’ threw me for a loop when I first heard it as a teenager. As such albums tend to do, it quickly became one of my favorites. I followed CADAVER through various incarnations over the years, and when the chance to work with Anders unexpectedly presented itself, needless to say, I didn’t have to mull it over. Our goal was for ‘Edder & Bile’ to capture the spontaneous, filthy energy of death metal. It was an effortless collaboration- things just naturally fell into place and the result speaks for itself. Feast upon this, death fiends!”

Norwegian death metallers CADAVER announced rescheduled dates for Entralled in Europe Tour with ATHEIST today. Due to the pandemic the tour has been rescheduled for February/March 2021. The lineup remains as ATHEIST with support from CADAVER, SVART CROWN and FROM HELL plus guests.
The Americans ATHEIST are the pioneers of technical death metal and influencing many of today’s top extreme metal bands. The band returns to Europe for the first time since 2011 bringing with them a power-packed set of fan favorites as well as songs that have never been performed in a live setting before. 2019 saw the return of ATHEIST to the stage with an acclaimed run in North America and a dominating South American tour. Founded in 1988 by Steve Flynn and Kelly Shaefer, the band became a peer of technical progressive metal by incorporating jazz, fusion, and Latin American music into good old death metal.
The French blackened death metal monsters SVART CROWN will join this powerful lineup with their brand new 5th studio album “Wolves Among the Ashes”, released earlier this year through Century Media. Five albums and over ten years of heavy touring made SVART CROWN one of the French bands a true lover of death metal should see anytime they come by.
This tour will be complemented by a heavy metal horror concept band FROM HELL, each recording of which is intended to be its own horror story. On this leg, the US-based metallers will present their new concept album “Rats & Ravens”. Opening bands for selected shows will be announced soon.
Carefully flex your neck and keep yourself hydrated so that your body is in a good shape when this lineup comes to your town and slams your face with pristine death metal wall of sound!
