Psych Doom act CAVERN DEEP have lauched their own label ‘Bonebag Records‘.
“After having been active in the heavy music scene for a while, we thought this was a great time to try and start a label of our own. For one it is great to have the luxury of working on our own terms and our own schedule. This will enable us to release more music and to put in the work ourselves to realize it. We are also hoping this is going to be a way for us to give something back to the music scene that has embraced us.
We are looking forward to putting out a lot of good releases, our first one is going to be the next Cavern Deep album. It is due for release this summer.
If you as a musician want to pitch a band or a project to us, feel free to do so at: info@malmerproductions.com”
CAVERN DEEP have released “The Attuning” video featuring Thomas V Jäger and premiere via The Obelisk. The premiere can be found here.
This spring we teamed up with Thomas V Jäger and recorded this song called “The Attuning”. It follows The Archeologist on his journey from the cave of the first record into the realm of the second record.
The synopsis is as follows:
At the end of his cavernous quest the archaeologist forfeit his life and slowly becomes one with the ungodly usurper. His mind is suddenly touched from afar. A distant wave snags him from the void currently closing around him, throwing the leftovers of his scattered essence into turmoil.. Into the stream… Becoming something else.
We will soon release another of these one-off singles, and then we are on to release our second album which is now done and ready.
Cavern Deep is: Kenny-Oswald Duvfenberg – Guitars and Vocals Max Malmer – Bass and Vocals Dennis Sjödin – Drums, Backup Vocals and Keys
Doom distributors CAVERN DEEP have released a new video for their cover of “Koyaanisqatsi” by Philip Glass which recently premiered at The Obelisk. The premiere can be viewed here.
“We in Cavern Deep have been working a lot behind the curtain lately to get some new music out into the world. Our 2nd album is already mixed and mastered, and we have a lot of interesting single releases in the works as well. One of them features Thomas V Jäger from Monolord.
So there will be a steady stream of releases from now on and this is the first of them. We have made a cover of “Koyaanisqatsi”, a Philip Glass piece that features in the movie with the same name. Our thinking was to make a cover of a non-Doom song that still Dooms more than any Doom we have ever heard.
Doom Act CAVERN DEEP have released a cover of Frank Zappa‘s legendary song “Muffin Man” which premiered via Doomed & Stonedhere.
Cavern Deep adds – “This is an homage to the great Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart’s masterpiece “The Muffin Man”. We came up with the idea of doing this cover late at night whilst inspecting some beverages, and it still felt like a good idea the day after, so we recorded it. The tone is not as serious as in our S/T debut album, which is the point. We aim to show that Cavern Deep will aim to be more than just a cave dwelling doom act.”
The track has also been released on the bands YouTube channel here:
CAVERN DEEP have released a video for their full debut self-titled concept album. The video is currently streaming via the 666 Mr.Doom YouTube channel and can be viewed below.
This video is made completely DIY by Cavern Deep. The video contains all of the songs from the new self-titled debut album released on Interstellar Smoke Records with aditional content to flesh out the concept of the album.
The album syposis is as follows: “The start of the expedition. One archaeologist and 49 men stand at the gates of a previously unknown civilization, for a moment staring down into the bowels of the mountain before they begin their decent. The journey downwards turn out to be more dangerous than expected, they climb down through whirling stairs lit only by organic fluorescent lights.. Further down the path turns more and more crumbled, eventually they must use ropes to traverse the broken bridges and tunnels over the deep chasms below. Filled by the promise of treasure they continue downwards. Many men go missing as they’re tasked to explore diverting tunnels, they never return and their screams are followed by silence. the only thing found is their safety ropes, driven by greed the archaeologist continues the expedition.”

The pulsating mass is limitless.. layers of layers.. The triangular gate.. The bridge.. I can see it.. I must reach it! Before this horrid, rotting organism takes hold of my mind completely.. ”
