Announced and already sold out: Children Of Bodom will perform together for the first time since their breakup. Under the banner “A Celebration Of Music”, original members Alexander Kuoppala, Henkka Blacksmith, Janne Warman, and Jaska Raatikainen will return to the stage. They will be joined by the band’s longtime friend, Samy Elbanna, vocalist of Lost Society.
Children Of Bodom have also shared a personal statement for this special occasion:
“We want to celebrate the life’s work of our band and at the same time honor the musical legacy of our friend and bandmate Alex. The concert will take place at the Tavastia Club, a venue that has always been very meaningful to Children Of Bodom – and it also fulfills a long-standing wish from our fans.”

Founding member and drummer of extreme metal icons CHILDREN OF BODOM, Jaska Raatikainen, has announced to join MERCURY CIRCLE, the brand new project by by Iconcrash’s and Swallow the Sun’s Jaani Peuhu. Being around with CHILDREN OF BODOM for remarkable twenty six years and touring the globe ever since, the band’s enthralling mix of melodic hooks and instrumental acrobatics have solidified them as one of the leading voices of music’s new generation. It has been hard for Jaska Raatikainento make any strict musical future plans since quitting COB in 2019, but all of this changed when he heard the demos by Peuhu.
“After hearing the demo tracks from the upcoming debut album I thought it would be stupid not to join this band. The music was something I hadn’t heard for a long time. Dark, emotional, epic elements and big choruses. I am truly excited for the opportunity to be part of this. I know it is a long way to the top but with these guys I feel honoured and ready to do it again.”
CHILDREN OF BODOM is one of Finland’s most successful bands, whose name has its roots in perhaps the most famous murder mystery in the Finnish country. The band managed to release ten studio albums and reached numerous fans around the world with their technical death metal. CHILDREN OF BODOM‘s last performance was at the Helsinki Ice Hall on December 15, 2019.
Raatikainen‘s new musical adventure, MERCURY CIRCLE, just unleashed their well received brand new debut EP, titled “The Dawn Of Vitriol”, on August 14th via Noble Demon and The Vinyl Division. Born as a brainchild in 2018 by two times Finnish grammy award nominated producer, songwriter and musician Jaani Peuhu,MERCURY CIRCLE is creating a diverse offering of atmospheric and darkly music where the songs differ wildly in expression and sonic aesthetics, establishing their very own kind of “New Doom”.

Finland’s perhaps best known metal act, CHILDREN OF BODOM, will be playing their final show with the current line-up this coming December. ”A Chapter Called Children Of Bodom” will take place at the Black Box in Helsinki Ice hall on December 15th. Below a statement from the band:

After almost 25 years with Bodom, thousands of shows & 10 albums it is time for Henkka, Janne and Jaska to step back and change direction within their lives. All three will miss the fans and supporters in every city in every country the band ever played.
The last show of this line-up will be on the 15th of December at Helsinki Ice Hall. Tickets still remain for some of the Finnish shows in December.

Swiss-Serbian EVOLUCIJA was formed in 2007 in Switzerland by Dragisa Marinjes. In the same year the debut album “Baklja slobode” came out on Tioli Records. For the German film “Die Templerherren” Dragisa composed the official soundtrack “Pale Rider”. In 2012 Dragisa and Swiss Frontwoman Ilana moved to Serbia. Their second album “Igra pocinje” was released in 2016 again on Tioli Records. The first album in English “Hunt” came out on March 30th, 2018, on Pure Steel Records. The German Cute & Dangerous Magazine rewarded the band with the Inncoent Award for the album, becoming then the winner of “Album of the Year”. Highlights of EVOLUCIJA are Montreux Jazz Festival (CH), Karneval Vrnjacka Banja (SRB), Beer Fest Belgrade (SRB), BARF Festival Belgrade (SRB) and Swiss Metal Attack Z7 Prattlen (CH). The band is currently working on new album, more information will be revealed soon.

»Hexed« saw the return to Finland’s Danger Johnny Studios where they were reunited with Mikko Karmila (I Worship Chaos, Halo Of Blood, Hatebreeder, Follow the Reaper & Hate Crew Deathroll) who recorded everything except keyboards and also produced the album with the band. Janne Wirman recorded keyboards at Beyond Abilities Studios. The album was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland.
