In a statement issued today, SHINING’s NIKLAS KVARFORTH made the somewhat unexpected announcement that he would be writing a twelve-part column entitled “Chronicles from the Asylum”, the French version of which would be published exclusively in METALLIAN MAGAZINE. Regarding the subject matter of the column, KVARFORTH had this to say: “The way things have been heading the past few years with the general decline of the physical format, including that of the printed press, I feel there is a need to reveal certain things that reporters, for whatever reason, dare not speak of, whether because of censorship concerns or the danger of becoming social pariahs. I, on the other hand, have no problems with that, so, with Chronicles from the Asylum” I intend to destroy a few of the misconceptions about how the music industry really works and hopefully shatter a few dreams and relationships along the way. As the first part is mainly concentrating on the pros and cons of the contemporary decline, we will do all that is in our power to have these articles in printed form only, and not on any meaningless website”.
