Just recently Metal Shock Finland‘s David Araneda had the honor to chat with bass legend Steve Di Giorgio. Steve talked his newest project SPIRITS OF FIRE and his collaboration in the upcoming ARCH/MATHEOS album. For the past seven years Croatian based guitarist Alex Hellenbach and Fear Factory/Malignancy drummer Mike Heller have worked together to breath life into a musical idea that is only now making its way to the surface. Years were spent struggling to find the right team to complete the first musical equation, and the right method to combat the logistical one. CONTROL/RESIST is a band born out of the need to create music with no creative boundaries, and no geographical restrictions.
The static model is now obsolete, and the advantages of the technological achievements in use by today’s society are nearly limitless, enabling people to work together from anywhere around the globe. The goal for Control/Resist is to incorporate artists from all over the world to develop a collaborative platform free from the logistical obstacles and physical boundaries set into play by the current system.
Control/Resist’s first collaborative installment comes in the form of a four-track thrash infused EP entitled “Gods By Design”. Featuring performances by singers Tim Aymar (Control Denied, Xthirt13n, Pharaoh), Jason McMaster (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys, Broken Teeth), James Paul Luna (Holy Grail), Vincent Levalois (Prototype, Psychosis), and session bassist Petar Makar. It is sure to please those in need of a healthy dose of screaming molten metal mastery.
The future endeavors of Control/Resist are unpredictable, but one thing is for certain, the band is an out of the box, no genre limited, metal machine that will push the envelope of how today’s music is created and absorbed!

“Gods by Design” was recorded in various studios around the globe. It was mixed at Lunar Sonic Audio by Jasio Kulakowski (Kobra and the Lotus) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Halford, Faith No More, Sepultura, Fates Warning) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering. The album artwork was done by British artist James Suret.

“Gods By Design” is scheduled for online release on February 22nd and will be available as free download/streaming through the bands Bandcamp page as well as Reverbnation, Soundcloud and the official Control/Resist web page. A limited run of physical copies will also be obtainable through the bands Bandcamp page.
