CROBOT and Mascot Records have announced the global release of an EP titled Rat Child on June 18th. The complete track listing features “Mountain” (featuring Frank Bello), “Kiss It Goodbye” (featuring Howard Jones), “Everyone Dies,” (featuring Stix Zadina), and “Rat Child.”
Screen Video of “Mountain” Here:
Singer Brandon Yeagley shares, “We’ve grown to know the Anthrax dudes pretty well through touring and developed a working relationship in addition to our friendships. We’ve always talked about writing with Frankie because we have a lot of the same influences and that definitely shines through in ‘Mountain.’ Frankie has always lent us his ear and has been a big supporter of ours – it was a treat to work with him on something.”
The recording “Everyone Dies” was co-written by Steel Panther’s Stix Zadina, who performs piano, drums and bass on the track. Yeagley states, “One of the last tours we did was supporting Steel Panther. We hit it off with all of the guys. Stix even got tattooed by Bishop! We kept in touch and he sent us a bunch of ideas he had for songs. We really gravitated towards this piano instrumental he had called ‘Jimmy’s Piano Song.’ We don’t know Jimmy, but Stix must really love that dude…cause that shit brought tears to our eyes. Through a couple of Zoom sessions, we were able to work everything out and that’s how we wrote ‘Everyone Dies.’ We really wanted to venture somewhere different with this one but still pump it full of our personality. This is our attempt to sit at the dinner table with Queen whilst eating a healthy portion of Meatloaf.”
In reference to the collaboration with Howard Jones, Yeagley offers, “Howard was introduced to us through mutual friends. We have always been huge fans of his melodic footprint and his unique melodies. When we heard he would be interested in writing with us, we were beyond excited. He flew down to Austin and spent a few days in a studio with us. We had a such great chemistry with him and wrote ‘Kiss it Goodbye.’ We thought it was a shoe-in for being a track on Motherbrain but for whatever reason, it didn’t make the cut. It seemed like such a travesty to let such a great song sit on the shelf. So, we’re pumped to let the world hear it!”
On the collected body of work released as the Rat Child EP, the band shares, “These Motherbrain leftovers (and new tunes alike), will satiate your tastebuds for some new Crobot riffage. We had the unique opportunity to collaborate with Frankie Bello (Anthrax), Howard Jones (Light the Torch), & Stix Zadina (Steel Panther), with whom we not only value friendship but idolize as well. Whether it’s gritty grooves, ballistic riffs, or that good ol’ Crobot sound you’re yearning for to getcha through, we’ve got just frequencies for ya! Say hello to our lil’ friends…”
CROBOT and Mascot Records present a video for ‘Burn’, view it below.
Singer Brandon Yeagley shares, “Well Beardos…if life gives you flames, you light the biggest bonfire the world has ever seen…and when Mascot asks you to make a video for “Burn,” you call up some aliens to help show the universe how to get down! No dragons were harmed in the filming of this music video.”
MOTHERBRAIN has been an unequivocal success for the band, reaching the milestone of over 15.4 million streams across all global platforms. Along the way, the band’s single “Low Life” went Top 10 at the Active Rock format with a 29-week run on the Billboard charts. Additionally, “Gasoline” was a successful follow-up, while videos released by Mascot Records supporting the album have been cumulatively viewed over three million times on YouTube.
Earlier this year, the band presented a visualizer for “Gasoline” which can be screened here: https://youtu.be/1Yzjxjoothk . At the time, Yeagley shared, “Gasoline’ is the sonic portrayal of a Schwarzenegger flick, complete with super villains, boss battles, & explosions at every turn. It’s a lot like Predator in 4K for your ear holes.” While Guitarist Bishop offered, “This was a collaboration I took the lead on with our buddy Wombat. Basically, a bad trip in to the world of Crobot. A different dimension where monsters rule and humans drool.” Bishop delivered the art, and Wombat executed the concept, effects, animation and editing delivering the essence of what is pure legend and ubiquitous as WombatFire.”
Crobot plan to resume touring to support the album as restrictions for public gatherings are lifted across North America and Europe.
Crobot has released a signature coffee blend titled CHUPAJAVA. The product is named after their song “Chupacabra,” previously released on the Something Supernatural album. The release is in association with Austin, TX-based company Third Coast Coffee – a Fair Trade, Organic and Transitional coffee roasting company, importing directly from small farmer cooperatives through Cooperative Coffees. Bags can be purchased via the band’s web site.

The song has now exceeded 4 million streams at Spotify, alongside over 868,000 views at YouTube. Across all streaming platforms “Low Life” has received over 7.4 million plays, while cumulative streams for the repertoire on MOTHERBRAIN is over 10 million. Additional key radio stations in major markets continue to spin the song at the format, in anticipation of transitioning to the follow-up “Gasoline.”

Crobot plan to resume touring to support the album as restrictions for public gatherings are lifted across Europe and North America. In 2019 the band played a number of headline and supporting shows across Europe and the UK as well as festival slots at Wacken Open Air, Ramblin man Fair and Alcatraz Festival. All future appearance plans will be shared as they become firm.

The band will be touring in Europe and the UK in July and August
Earlier this year, the band presented a raucously entertaining lead music video for the song “Keep Me Down” which can be screened here:
Like food of the gods, rock ‘n’ roll nourishes the soul. Offering holy communion, Crobot proudly personify a trinity of “meat, strings, and emotion” within their music and during the raucous and raging gigs they remain known for. Striking a delicate balance between hard-charging riffs, ass-shaking funk, and out-of-this-world reflective stage attire, thePennsylvania quartet—Brandon Yeagley [lead vocals, harmonica], Chris Bishop [guitar, vocals], and Dan Ryan [drums], satisfy starvation for sonic sustenance on their fourth full-length and 2019 debut for Mascot Label Group, Motherbrain. James Lascu and Eddie Collins share the role of touring bassist for Crobot.
“When we were making the record, it was all about ‘meat, strings, and emotion’,” affirms Chris. “It explains the thought process. We’d usually start the day with chicken biscuits from Chik-fil-A. Obviously, I would play the strings. The emotion comes from the sheer power of me playing.” Yeagley adds, “It had nothing to do with the chicken biscuits.”
Crobot continue to fill a void. Since emerging in 2011, the group have quietly cemented themselves among the rising rock vanguard. Following the 2012 debut Legend of the Spaceborne Killer and 2014’s Something Supernatural, the musicians made waves with Welcome To Fat City in 2016. Consequence of Sound praised the title track as “a stomping slice of doom,” and Classic Rock bestowed a coveted 4-out-of-5-star rating on the album, going on to claim, “Welcome To Fat City is a mighty leap forward for Crobot, an ebullient masterclass.” Not to mention, they received acclaim from AXS, New Noise Magazine, and more as total album streams surpassed the 1-million-mark. Along the way, Crobot toured with the likes of Anthrax, Clutch, Black Label Society, Volbeat, Chevelle, Motorhead, The Sword, and more in addition to appearing on ShipRocked! and at numerous other festivals.
During late 2017, the boys started to write what would become Motherbrain. Signing to Mascot Records, the group went from writing at Chris’ spot in Austin, TX to Marietta, GA where they holed up in the studio with Corey Lowery [Seether, Saint Asonia] for a month. The producer’s direction to embrace the dark side took life, while Brandon delivered some of the most emotive recordings Crobot has delivered to date.
“I think it’s a much darker record, musically, lyrically, and thematically,” says the front man. “It’s some of the heaviest material we’ve ever done, but it’s also some of the funkiest. We’re widening the Crobot spectrum even more. It’s the catchiest too. It’s less about wizards and dragons and more about everyday turmoil and the struggles of life. Corey made it digestible and appealing for not just dudes with beards or chicks with dicks.”
They heralded the record with the rabble-rousing “Keep Me Down.” Meanwhile, the first single “Low Life” shows the scope of this expanded palette. Featuring chunky guitars and a howling hook, it sees the band co-write with Johnny Andrews and deliver a bold banger. “It’s a song we never would’ve written by ourselves,” Chris continues. “That makes it cool. It took us out of our comfort zone.”“It’s an anthem about this outside perspective on the definition of a lowlife,” explains Brandon. “There’s a misconception that being a touring musician without a lot of money makes you a lowlife, but how is that really any different from the rest of the world? And, if that does make you a lowlife, we’re okay with it!”
Co-written by Brian Vodinh of 10 Years, “Burn” nods to “the power of Stone Temple Pilots’ ‘Dead and Bloated’,” and siphons it through “a Crobot filter.” Elsewhere, “Drown” tempers a muscular groove with a magnetic melody, while the “funkiest song” of the bunch “Alpha Dawg” pays homage to a “funky werewolf mofo” inspired by Teen Wolf. Then, there’s “Stoning The Devil.” So catchy it might be Satanic, the tune flips tradition upside down.
“I wanted a different spin on the act of stoning the devil,” states Brandon. “Muslims take a pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia to throw stones at these pillars. The act is supposed to ward off evil spirits and cleanse one’s soul. It’s a different culture for the devil’s storyline in our genre.”
In the end, “meat, strings, and emotion” might just be what rock ‘n’ roll needs in 2019 and beyond…
“When people hear this, I hope they say, ‘Yeah, that’s Crobot’,” the front man leaves off. “We want to maintain our identity from record to record. We always want to be genuine. It’s going to evolve, but it will always be Crobot.”

Mascot Label Group has announced the signing of CROBOT to a global recording agreement with Mascot Records. Known across the world for their unique blend of good old-fashioned hard rock with funk, blues and other elements of musical inspiration combining to become a howling vortex that is uniquely the Crobot nebula. The band is currently working on their next release, watch the teaser below.
CROBOT’s Brandon and Bishop offer, “For almost two years, the Crobot funk has been fermenting beneath the streets of Pottsville, PA festering into a creature grimier than a dead rat’s asshole. Now, we are extremely excited to announce we are the newest members of the insanely talented Mascot Label Group roster! Big things are happening in Fat City, Beardos so stay tuned!”
Mascot Label Group President, North America Ron Burman shares, “We’re really excited to be working with Crobot, I love their dirty sexy edgy hard rock, and Brandon & Bishop’s great sense of humor that shines through in their songs and performances. They’re killer live and so much fun!”
The upcoming album follows prior releases Welcome To Fat City (2016), Something Supernatural (2014) and Legend Of The Spaceborne Killer (2012). The current line up is Brandon Yeagley (Lead Vocals, Harmonica), Chris Bishop (Guitar, Vocals), Dan Ryan (Drums) and James Lascu (Bass).
As Brandon continues his campaign for mayor of Fat City he’s needing to throw in a few distractions to make things as good as gravy. Check out the first top secret council video from CROBOT HQ here:
With that in mind CROBOT have just unveiled their trippy psychedelic artwork for upcoming album “Welcome To Fat City”.
Recorded with producer Machine (CLUTCH, LAMB OF GOD, EVERY TIME I DIE), and mixed by engineer Alan Moulder (FOO FIGHTERS, NINE INCH NAILS, THEM CROOKED VULTURES,LED ZEPPELIN), »Welcome To Fat City« is due for release September 23 via Nuclear Blast(EU/UK) and Wind-Up Records (US).
The artwork for the album, once again created by guitarist Chris Bishop, features his otherworldly anamorphic psychedelic illustrations that, when held up to a special reflective sleeve that comes with the vinyl, reveal the Spaceborne Killer (a fictitious character that their first record was based off). “We wanted to do something completely different and not take ourselves too seriously… I was going for a Simpsons on acid feel,” states Bishop. “If the Simpsons aren’t already on enough acid. I really wanted it to have a graffiti/street art feel to play into the album name. I spent a lot of time hiding anamorphic images and messages in the art as well, so hopefully our fans have fun finding those Easter eggs. Some of my inspirations for the album art are people like Dallas artist Michael Reeder, who does some of my favorite portrait styled street art, and Broken Fingaz Crew from Israel who do a lot of propaganda styled stuff. Much respect to those guys.”
