Hi Jari, welcome to Metal Shock Finland! How’re you doing today?
Hello Tarja, and thank you for having me. I’m doing good. It’s sunday and I feel rested.
To start, please introduce us your band and its members … let’s say, a short presentation would be nice… 🙂
Simply saying, Curimus is a death / thrash metal orientated band from western Finland. Band has been active since 2004. Members: Marko Silvennoinen – vocals, Juha-Matti Helmi – guitar, Juho Manninen – bass and me, Jari Nieminen – drums
Curimus is quite an interesting name. Where it’s coming from and what does it means?
It comes from an old finnish word kurimus. It’s from old legends and means a mystic vortex in the sea, that swallows ships and sailors to their eternal grave. We just decided to write it with the letter “c” to make sure, no one else has used it before and to give it just a small international touch.
