Swedish masters of black metal, DARK FUNERAL have launched a static video for the title track of their upcoming album “Where Shadows Forever Reign”, on Century Media.
Lord Ahriman comments: “I’ve said it before, but in case you missed it, I will say it again. WE ARE BACK!!! And to prove that we’re really back to reclaim the throne once and for all, we now have the privilege to let you all get a taste of what is to come in the form of the epic title track of our long awaited new masterpiece! Sit back, put your speakers on max and enjoy the ride through ancient realms so forlorn and cold, the majestic realm where shadows forever reign.”
Vocalist Heljarmadr further adds: “The lyrics to ‘Where Shadows Forever Reign’ deal with self sacrifice. To reach further on my spiritual path I must give something from myself. Be it material or a piece of my heart and soul, as long as it’s something that deeply matters. To truly reach the world of shadows I must summon my inner shadows, my inner darkness and allow no light.”

Six years after the release of their latest album, DARK FUNERAL will finally release their new album on June 3rd, 2016 via Century Media Records!
It was recorded at the Dugout Studios in Uppsala, Sweden and produced by Lord Ahriman and Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth). The stunning artwork was created by Necrolord (Dissection, Necrophobic, Emperor).
“Where Shadows Forever Reign” will be available as Ltd. CD Digipak in Slipcase , Jewelcase CD, Gatefold LP and digital album.
The Digipak folds out as an inverted cross and includes not just the regular booklet, but also a 4-page poster booklet featuring the cover artwork.
The Gatefold LP will be available in the following vinyl colours:
– Black vinyl (unlimited)
– Transparent blue vinyl (limited to 100 copies, exclusively available at CMDistro EU)
– Clear vinyl (limited to 200 copies, exlusively available at Sound Of Records)

Six years after the release of their latest album, the Swedish masters of black metal, DARK FUNERAL, will finally release their new album on June 3rd, 2016 via Century Media Records! It will be entitled “Where Shadows Forever Reign”.
Lord Ahriman comments: “Wow, did 6 years pass already? Time surely flies fast! But you know what, we’re back! DARK FUNERAL is back! And in true DARK FUNERAL spirit, like so many times in the past, we continue to push all boundaries musically & bring Black Metal into a new, fresh & dark dimension. This is by far our most professional, technical, dynamic & epic album thus far. And compared to previous albums, each new song offers a unique spirit & identity that is more profound than ever. And whether you like extreme Black Metal or not, I’m sure every fan of Metal will find songs on this album that they can enjoy to its fullest!
Every piece of the new album is combined into total perfection. The music, lyrics, musicianship, artwork & production. Almost precisely 20 years after the Swedish masters of black metal released their debut and landmark album, “The Secrets of The Black Arts”, and six years after the release of their last full-length studio album, DARK FUNERAL are finally entering the studio again to create another blasphemous masterpiece!
Lord Ahriman comments: “We’ve been waiting for this day a long time! Today we’ve finally entered Dug-Out studios in Uppsala to begin the recording of our sixth studio album!
Last we were here, we recorded the Nail Them To The Cross single and that was indeed a great warm up for the new album. It introduced Heljarmadr as the new vocalist and lyricist, showing that we are unstoppable and that we still hold the world in our hands, ready to crush and destroy!
We are extremely eager to bring this monster into this world and after months of preparations we are finally here to summon the beast!!”
The album will be recorded and produced by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Soilwork, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth and many more) and will be released via Century Media Records.
With the release of the “Nail Them To The Cross” single earlier this year, Swedish black metal masters, DARK FUNERAL, are now preparing the release of their next studio album, to be released in 2016 via Century Media Records.
Mastermind Lord Ahriman comments:
“Cold winds are blowing over Scandinavia and the winter will arrive very soon. The world is bleak and dark days await. During the past months we have been forging the foundation of what will become the new DARK FUNERAL album. Music and lyrics are falling in place, piece by piece. The actual plan for the release is also slowly taking shape and everything has finally started to move. On February 23rd Swedish masters of furious, intense and merciless black metallers DARK FUNERAL, will return with the release, via Century Media Records, of their new single entitled “Nail Them To The Cross”. Besides the title track, that has been released as a video some weeks ago in order to present their new vocalist Heljarmadr, the single includes another brand new track called “Temple Of Ahriman”.
Both songs were recorded at Dugout Studios in Uppsala/Sweden and were mixed and mastered by Daniel Bergstrand. The cover artwork was created by Marcelo Vasco.
“Nail Them To The Cross” will be available as a hand-numbered 7inch limited to 1000 copies worldwide, of which 500 copies are on black vinyl and 500 on blue vinyl, and also as digital download.
The 7inch will only be available at http://www.cmdistro.com and at the band’s live shows, starting with one of their first appearances featuring the new members Heljarmadr and Natt at Blastfest (Bergen, NO) on February 20th. The CM Distro pre-order starts on January 26th.
