DARK TRANQUILLITY Confirmed For Next Year’s METALFEST

Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY have been confirmed for next year’s installment of the Metalfest festival.

Metalfest 2011 was a huge success, having taken place over two weekends in five countries. Bands such as SABATON, CRADLE OF FILTH, AMON AMARTH, ARCH ENEMY and AMORPHIS rocked the Metalfest stages this year, with almost 100,000 fans in attendance.

Metalfest 2012 will be expanding to nine events in eight countries. In addition to the five locations from this year, there will be Metalfests in Italy, Poland and Croatia, with a second Metalfest in Germany set to take place in Loreley.

Dark Tranquillity – kick off Neckbreakers Ball European headlining tour this week!

On Friday, October 28, 2011 Swedish melodic death masters DARK TRANQUILLITY will kick off the Neckbreaker’s Ball tour in Munich (Germany). The band comments:

“Alright! We are about to head out on the road again on the Neckbreakers Ball tour and the set is being renewed, reworked and in many ways totally updated. We have our work cut out for us for sure bringing you some fresh and unexpected material. This is an amazing package tour and we are very excited to be headlining it this year. See you all out there!“

Prior to the tour, the band recently released a tour edition of their latest album “We Are The Void” via Century Media Records which also includes the previously unreleased song “Zero Distance” apart from many other treats and a stunning bonus DVD. See below for the exact content-listing!

DARK TRANQUILLITY Keyboardist Launches COUNTERPOINT CUSTOM SCORING

Keyboardist Martin Brändström of Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY has partnered with studio colleague Joacim Starander to launch a new company, Counterpoint Custom Scoring, for composing custom-scored music.

The company’s mission is to deliver high-quality music, targeting the entertainment industry and large-scale commercial presentations.

At this location you can hear some of the work already completed, as well as some conceptual pieces composed to showcase the range of Counterpoint.

DARK TRANQUILLITY has just released a video for the song “Zero Distance”, taken from the upcoming tour edition of the band’s latest album, “We Are The Void”, which will be released in Europe on October 24 via Century Media Records. The clip is the first official music video from Aduro Labs, a new film/production enterprise launched by DARK TRANQUILLITY‘s own Niklas Sundin, video photographer Peter Herneheim and post-production editor Love Andersson. The aim of Aduro Labs is to produce creative, original and aesthetically challenging video/animation work in a diverse range of styles. Further projects will be announced in the near future.

The Swedish kings of Melodic Death Metal DARK TRANQUILLITY proudly present you the brand-new video clip for the song “Zero Distance” taken from the upcoming tour edition of “We Are The Void”, which will be released in Europe on October 24th, 2011 right in time for the start of the massive Neckbreaker’s Ball headlining tour!

As DARK TRANQUILLITY’s “We Are The Void” album was awarded “Album Of The Month” in Metal Hammer Germany back in 2010, the band teamed up with the mag to present you the exclusive premiere of the stunning “Zero Distance” video clip, which is the first official music video from Aduro Labs (www.adurolabs.se), a new film/production enterprise founded by DT’s own Niklas Sundin, video photographer Peter Herneheim and post production editor Love Andersson. “Zero Distance” is of course only one of the rarities included in the “We Are The Void (Tour Edition)” as Niklas Sundin further explains:

“Zero Distance” was recorded at the same time as the “We Are The Void” album, but due to its different nature we decided to keep it for later use. The time is now right to unveil the song, as well as the other rare/bonus material recorded at the same time, in a massive “We Are The Void” tour edition package. In addition to the added songs and liner notes by Mikael, there’s also a live DVD capturing some special moments during the 150-and-counting gigs in support of the album.”

New MOURNING CARESS Album To Feature Guest Appearance By DARK TRANQUILLITY Frontman

Münster, Germany-based melodic death metallers MOURNING CARESS have inked a deal with MDD Records for the release of their third album,. Tentatively due in early November, the CD was mastered by Ulf Horbelt at DMS in Marl, Germany and features cover art by Björn Goosses of Killustrations.

“Deep Wounds, Bright Scars” contains nine tracks plus a cover of the SCORPIONS classic “Blackout” as a bonus track. According to the band, “Some tunes are the heaviest and fastest in the history of MOURNING CARESS, some groove like shit and all of them will enchant you with beautiful melodies. The vocals still sound frustrated, fragile and full of despair. This well-known combination will surely please all fans of [previous MOURNING CARESS albums] ‘Imbalance’ and ‘Inner Exile’.”

A new MOURNING CARESS track entitled “Panic” can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.

Another news song, “Wastelands Within”, will be made available in September. The band says, “It’s a very special one for us, since it features guest vocals by the mighty Mikael Stanne from DARK TRANQUILLITY.”
