Line-up complete for DAY OF DECAY festival

DAY OF DECAY has issued the following:

The Danish rock and metal festival Day of Decay completes its brutal line-up by adding THE CLEANSING and COLD NIGHT FOR ALLIGATORS, two of Denmark’s most promising metal acts.

Adding further brutality to an already extreme line-up, Danish metal festival Day of Decay just announced two final bands for the festivities on Friday May 18 in Aalborg. In a partnership with W:O:A Metal Battle Denmark, Day of Decay offered a slot at the festival for the competition winner. However, last week’s winner, Electric Hellride, had to cancel their show at Day of Decay due to family matters.

In spite of the time pressure, the festival organizers were able to find a worthy substitute in COLD NIGHT FOR ALLIGATORS. A sublime tech core outfit, the band is scheduled to play at the prominent TechFest in UK this July, but at Day of Decay the audience will get to hear some of their new songs live for the first time. The Danish four-piece just finished recording an EP with their new vocalist and are looking forward to play some new material for the Danish metal heads.

Earlier the Danish band The Burning had to cancel their performance due to personal reasons and were replaced by the brutal death metal act The Cleansing from Copenhagen. Currently working on a new album, the band is taking a break from their writing sessions to play at Day of Decay, which will be the only chance at catching them on stage this summer.

With the final bands confirmed, the full line-up for Friday’s mayhem consists of KRISIUN (BR), OBSCURA (DE), MERCENARY (DK), SYLOSIS (UK), DYSCARNATE (UK), LEPROUS (NO), THE CLEANSING (DK), COLD NIGHT FOR ALLIGATORS (DK), FEROCITY (DK), and CARO (DK).

Day of Decay is going down on Friday May 18 at Studenterhuset (the students’ house) in Aalborg, Denmark, and tickets are available for EUR 34 plus a fee at  www.billetlugen.dk  as well as all other outlets of Billetlugen. Tickets at the door are EUR 45.

DAY OF DECAY: Last Minute Cancellation, replacement and time schedule

DAY OF DECAY has issued the following update:

The Danish one day festival Day Of Decay, which is set to be held the 16th July in Aalborg, Denmark, have gotten some last minute cancellations, and must regrettably announce that Danish MNEMIC and English ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY are forced to cancel.

MNEMIC has issued the following statement regarding its cancellation:
“MNEMIC is sad to inform you that the band is unable to perform at the DAY oF DECAY festival this upcoming Saturday. The main reason for the cancellation is because drummer Brian Rasmussen suffers from a pilonidal disease, that has required immediate surgery and treatment and we deeply regret to inform you that we have to cancel. We have tried to think of every possible solution to find a stand-in, but it has proven to be an impossible task. Our sincere apologies go out to the promoter and all ticket holders, especially those of you who had planned to see the band. We will hopefully make it up to you all.
– Mircea”

Day Of Decay has issued the following statement:
”We are very sorry to announce yet another cancellation, we have had way to many cancellations this year, we hope your guest will bare with us, since all cancellations have all been due to circumstance which we can’t control. We think we have found some good replacement to our cancellations, but with these cancellations it have been a battle finding a suitable replacement in the short amount of time.
But nonetheless we are proud to announce, the Swedish death/thrash metal band FACEBREAKER, which have current or former members of bands like Edge Of Sanity, Incapacity, Devian, Tormented and Scar Symmetry. The group have just released their third album “Infected” last October through Cyclone Empire.
But it have not been possible to find yet another band, therefore we instead give some extra playtime to our current bands, and on the side of that we have made a special price for beer in the first two hours.
Remember Day Of Decay will be held indoors, so if it will rain, you can stay nice and drive indoors. We are as said before located at DSB’s Stykgodsterminal in Aalborg, right next to Aalborg trainstation and bus terminal. “

DAY OF DECAY: Another Band Cancelled, Replacement

DAY OF DECAY has issued the following update:

The Danish one day festival Day Of Decay, which is set to be held the 16th July in Aalborg, Denmark, are sad to announce that another acts are forced to cancel their appearance at the event, and at the same time we can announce their replacement. Sadly the German metal band THE BLACKOUT ARGUMENT had to cancel, but in their place we can announce the Danish metal band PITCHBLACK.

The band gave the following statement:
“Bad news for all our northern fans: unfortunately we have to cancel the Day of Decay Festival in Denmark. Due to familiy related reasons. We really hope to get another chance to come back to Denmark soon. The good news is: Day of Decay found an amazing replacement: Pitchblack is taking our slot. This means there is NO excuse for not showing up at the Day of Decay fest this year. We wish the promoters and all visitors an unforgettable night!”

Day Of Decay had this to say:
”We are sad to yet again announce a cancellation for this year’s Day Of Decay, this time it’s the German hardcore punk band The Blackout Argument.
But at the same time we are glad to announce the Danish metal band Pitchblack, which have recently released their second album ”The Devilty”. The group is amongst other known for their debut album “Designed To Dislike” from 2007, which won the prize best debut album at Danish Metal Awards.
But their new album have also made a lot of noticed, by being banned in Germany for the albums artwork, which apparently where to extreme. Lately the band have made noticed by competing in Copenhell’s talent stage competition. A competition they won for their energetic show and brutal energy, and will therefore play at next years Download Festival.
With that in mind, we expect the band to deliver a great stage performance.”

Day Of Decay 2011 will take place the 16th July at DSB Stykgodsterminal in Aalborg, Denmark. DAY OF DECAY: Cancellation + replacement

The Danish one day festival Day Of Decay, which is set to be held the 16th July in Aalborg, Denmark, are sad to announce that one of the main acts are forced to cancel their appearance at the event, and at the same time we can announce their replacement. Sadly the Dutch metal band TEXTURES had to cancel, but in their place we can announce the Belgium death/grind band ABORTED.

Textures made the following statement:
“Due to circumstances beyond our control we are forced to cancel our appearance at Day of Decay in Denmark. We are really sorry to all our fans who were looking forward seeing us, we will make it up to you! We promise!!”

Day Of Decay’s promoter Carsten Brogaard made the following statement:
“It’s with great sadness that we have to announce Textures cancellation at Day Of Decay, since we know a lot of people had been looking forward to experience the band live. Hopefully we get the chance to work with the band again and maybe get the possibility to book them at another event.

But at the same time we are very proud to be able to announce the Belgium death/grind band Aborted, which are in already in Denmark, to record their new and seventh album “Global Flatline”. The recordings take place at Hansen Studio, this time with the groups live drummer Ken Bedene, also known from the American band Abigail Williams, which will be handling the drummer duties on the new album. The band will perform all new songs from the album, as well as play some good old classics from their back catalogue.
We hope this will make amends to the people looking forward to seeing Textures, as we are sure that Aborted will deliver a hellish kick ass and energetic show, which we will not soon forget.

DAY OF DECAY Announces Full Program

The Danish one day festival Day Of Decay, which is set to be held the 16th July in Aalborg, Denmark, announces the full line-up. 4 new bands are added to the program; the Irish thrash band GAMA BOMB, Swedish melodic death metal band MARIONETTE, the local death metal band FETUS IN FETU, and the DOD Warm-Up winner NAKED LUCY.

The Irish thrash metal band Gama Bomb are currently working on their next and fourth release. The group are properly most known for their last album “Tales from the Grave in Space”, which were released late 2009, as free download through the groups record label Earache Records, which makes the bands the first metal band ever to release a album for free while under a record label. The album was later released in physical form in 2010 along with a bonus ep. The band where same year nominated for the award Best Underground Band at Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. The Swedish melodic death metal band Marionette where formed in 2005 with an average age of 16 years old, and quickly got success; amongst other things, the band have won a lot of national and international music competitions. The group have so far released 2 albums on Listenable Records, and receive good response for their live performance which is inspired by the Japanese visual-kei scene, and the brutality of the metal and hardcore scene. This has resolved in a lot of yours, with bands like Murderdolls, Shadows Fall, Dark Tranquillity, Five Finger Death Punch and many others. The band has recently put the finishing touch on their third album, which will be released later this year.

The local death metal band Fetus In Fetu have the last year shown a lot of progress, and already received a lot of positive response for their debut album ”Abnormal Disfigurement”, which were release just last week.

Last band announced this year is, the local band Naked Lucy, which is the winner of the local contest DOD Warm-up, a contest for local bands, where the winner gets to play at this year’s festival. Naked Lucy will present a mixture of punk and metal.

DAY OF DECAY 2011: Confirmed New Band

The Danish one day festival Day Of Decay, which is set to be held the 16th July in Aalborg, Denmark, announces one additional act to their line-up. This time the Danish metal band MNEMIC is added to the bill. And sadly Essence has had to cancel their appearance due to personal reasons.

Mnemic, doesn’t require a big presentation, since the band was formed in 1998, they have become one of Denmark’s biggest metal bands, and are known all around the world, toured with bands like Metallica, Deftones, Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Arch Enemy and many more. As well as released 4 studio albums through Nuclear Blast Records, the latest of which “Sons Of The System” was released last year.  The bassist Tomas “Obeast” Koefod left the band in april this year, and Mnemic have now found his replacement, but
unfortunately he can’t perform at Day Of Decay, therefore a stand-in will take his place on this date.

The last bands for Day Of Decay will be announce very soon!
