Ever since Bill “Cuckoo Brains” Barnes of DEATH METAL BIRD SONG visited the San Antonio Zoo he has been cuckoo for the Maribou Stork. The Maribou Stork, known as the Undertaker Bird because of it’s suit-like appearance, is the largest stork in the world. It strides five feet above the scorching sun of the African plains, searching for food, wings spread in defense (it has been recorded having a 13-foot-wingspan).
The Undertaker Bird is an interesting specimen in that food is so scarce on the African plains it has developed into a scavenger and has the bald head to prove it. It will eat other creatures, though, like baby mongooses, mice, even flamingos and will devour feces found in landfills.
“The Undertaker Bird is true death metal, through and through. There is no humorous commentary about boobs and birds, this song is purely about survival, sheer size and being ‘scabbed and rancid.’ It is the song that will make people say we are disgusting and brutal, and that is exactly what the song conveys,” remarks Barnes.
Barnes has completed the lyrics and is working on the guitar rhythms at the moment on his signature BC Rich Kerry King V. He hopes to finish the song before his “Death Metal and Birding Across Michigan Lakes and Lawns” tour goes into effect.
