Italian cult heavy rock outfit DEATH SS unleash the official video for their latest single “Love Until Death”. The song is taken from their new studio album “The Entity” which will be released in May 2025 via Lucifer Rising/SelfDistribuzione.
This powerful and dramatic dark ballad is about the impossible and tormented love between Dr. Jekyll and his young housekeeper Mary Reilly. “Love Until Death” is inspired by the short story “Mary Reilly” written by Valerie Martin in 1990. “Mary is the only person who can understand Jekyll’s drama. She assists him without judging, trying to save him from the assaults of his cruel avatar Hyde by showing the Entity how true love can go as far as sacrifice,” explains DEATH SS’ frontman Steve Sylvester.
The video was again edited by Andrea Falaschi who tells us more about the technique used to shoot the different scenes: “The video is a kind of prequel to ‘Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde.’ In fact, we find again the character of Mary Reilly played by Jessica, when she was the housekeeper in Dr. Jekyll’s house… We recreated a kind of ‘found footage’ in the style of ‘The Blair Witch Project’ with Jessica’s footage. Done on purpose with a smartphone and further degraded in post-production. The idea was to recreate the found footage of a kind of BSDM snuff movie.”
“Love Until Death” is available digitally and as 12” Limited Deluxe edition featuring a special shaped cover with transparent light violet vinyl and contains the fourth part of the booklet with the full story behind the concept “The Entity” along with two other tracks on Side B, “Cimiteria” and “Evil Never Dies,” included on the new album as well.

Italy’s cult heavy rock band DEATH SS release the official video for their third single “Justified Sinner”. The song is taken from their new studio album “The Entity” which will be released on May 1st, 2025 via Lucifer Rising/Self Distribuzione. The concept album was produced by mastermind and frontman Steve Sylvester along with the English Grammy winner producer Tom Dalgety (Rammstein, Ghost, The Cult, a.o.).
‘‘‘Justified Sinner’ was the first song I composed for the concept ‘The Entity’. The idea had come to me several years ago, talking to my friend James Hogg, a descendant of the writer of the same name who wrote the novel ‘The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner’ in the first half of the 19th century. After reading this complex and intriguing book, the idea came to me to explore the theme of the ‘Doppelgänger’, the conceptual basis of the entire new album,” explains DEATH SS frontman Steve Sylvester.
The video was again edited by Andrea Falaschi who tells us more about the technique used to shoot the different scenes: “To recreate the angel of ‘Justifed Sinner’ we used rear projection, a vintage technique also used by Kubrick in his masterpiece ‘Eyes Wide Shut’. This allowed us to maintain the transparencies of the angel’s dress that would otherwise have been impossible with a green screen…’
“Justified Sinner” is available digitally and as 12” Limited Deluxe edition featuring a special shaped cover with transparent orange vinyl and contains the third of the four-part booklet with the full story behind the concept “The Entity” along with two other tracks on Side B, “The Evil Painter” e “The Whitechapel Wolf,” included on the new album as well.

Italy’s cult heavy rock band DEATH SS unleash the video for their second single “Out To Get Me”. The song is taken from their new studio album “The Entity” which will be released early next year. The concept album was produced by mastermind and frontman Steve Sylvester along with the English Grammy winner producer Tom Dalgety (Rammstein, Ghost, The Cult, a.o.).
‘Out To Get Me’ is a dark, orchestral ballad. The main character Jekyll becomes aware of the evil his alter ego has caused and of the other people’s reaction towards him. Tormented by doubts and remorse, his mental health degenerates and in a hallucinatory crescendo, wherever he flees, he feels haunted by hellish creatures – the monsters of his conscience.
DEATH SS’s frontman Steve Sylvester comments: “When I had to think of a video to accompany this song, the first thing that came to mind was a classical ballet, an esoteric dance symbolising the eternal battle between good and evil. The dancer/demon and the dancer/angel face and fight each other, symbolising an eternal cycle of birth, death and rebirth. In this context there is no real final victory, but rather a constant flow of forces converging within the soul of the protagonist of the song, who suffers from this dualism. So I looked for two professionals who could embody this vision of mine, and I found them in the persons of Greta Bellintani and Gianluca D’Alò, who did their job very well. The location was the Viper Theatre in Florence, whose stage was well suited to the task”.
Video clip’s director Andrea Falaschi adds: “During the filming of this video, one of those ‘alchemies’ of cinema occurred that only insiders can see. The two dancers came from different cities, they had never seen each other or spoken to each other. In just a few minutes I instructed them on what I wanted on camera and as soon as they stepped on stage the magic clicked. It was as if they had known each other for years, with an incredible attunement. Without words they embodied their characters giving them the personality I had described to them flawlessly. They were truly great professionals”.
“Out To Get Me” is available digitally and as 12” Limited Deluxe edition featuring a special shaped cover with sky blue vinyl and contains the second of the four-part booklet with the full story behind the concept “The Entity” along with two other tracks on Side B, ‘Two Souls’ and ’ Hell Is Revealed,’ included on the new album as well.

Today Italy’s cult heavy rock band DEATH SS unveil the official video for their new single ‘Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde’. The song is taken from their new studio album “The Entity” which will be released early next year. The concept album was produced by mastermind and frontman Steve Sylvester along with the English Grammy winner producer Tom Dalgety (Rammstein, Ghost, The Cult, a.o.).
‘Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde’ is a powerful dark metal song in pure DEATH SS style, which ironically quotes the 1971 Hammer Production film of the same name. As in the film and the song’s amusing promotional video clip, the story is set in late 19th century London, where Dr. Jekyll, the famous character from gothic fiction created by the writer Robert Louis Stevenson, gives life to his evil alter-ego Hyde, who however in this case is a woman.
DEATH SS’ frontman and mastermind Steve Sylvester comments: “For the making of this video clip I wanted to recreate the Victorian setting of late 19th century London, the period in which the events narrated in Stevenson’s book take place. The editing of the various sequences described in the lyrics was done by myself alongside with the clip’s director Andrea Falaschi, as if it were a film trailer, obviously inspired by Roy Ward Baker’s eponymous movie.”
“With ‘Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde’ I had the chance to make a very cinematic video. I had been waiting a long time for the right opportunity to field some old scenic tricks from Hitchcock’s cinema. There is no CGI in the video, they are all practical effects as they used to be done in the old days’, adds director Andrea Falaschi.
The 12’ Limited Deluxe edition features a special shaped cover with transparent red smoke-effect vinyl and contains the first of the four-part booklet with the full story behind the concept “The Entity” along with two other tracks on Side B, ‘Ave Adonai’ and ’Possession‘, included on the new album as well.
Track listing Side A: DR. JEKYLL & SISTER HYDE Side B: AVE ADONAI + POSSESSION
The literary inspirations of the 12-song opus range from Aleister Crowley, who seeks to liberate man by awakening his artistic genius (‘Aleister Crowley and the Hidden God’ – Kenneth Grant), to the characters of writers James Hogg (‘The Private Memoirs And Confessions of a Justified Sinner’) and Robert Louis Stevenson (‘The Strange Case Of Doctor Jekyll And Mr. Hyde’), who explore the dark side of mankind.
