New music video shot live in Philadelphia on May 6th by director David Brodsky of MyGoodEye!

Starting today, fans can check out the new AMON AMARTH music video for the track Destroyer of the Universe off the band’s latest release Surtur Rising. The live video, which is premiering exclusively on BlankTV, was shot on the band’s May 6th stop in Philadelphia, PA at the Theatre Of Living Arts by director David Brodsky of MyGoodEye (The Black Dahlia Murder, The Devin Townsend Project, Suicide Silence, Municipal Waste, Whitechapel, etc).

“This time around we wanted to catch the energy and atmosphere of a live show, so we simply went for a live video. We look forward to get back to North America in August to continue and fulfill the ‘Evening’ tour, meanwhile enjoy the video”, comments guitarist Olavi Mikkonen.

Swedish Metal Kings AMON AMARTH have just finished their extremely successful first European tour (with support from THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER) and are about to return to North America in August for their second headline tour in support off Surtur Rising, the biggest album in the rich history of the Norsemen!

No rest for the wicked, AMON AMARTH just confirmed a six-week headlining tour through Europe for the fall! The tour kicks off October, 12th in Stuttgart, Germany and ends 45 days later on November, 26th in Prague, Czech Republic. Dates in Slovakia and Poland have been added to the trek.

Direct support will be label mates AS I LAY DYING who released their highly successful album The Powerless Rise in 2010!

Released on March 25/28 via Metal Blade Records, Surtur Rising is AMON AMARTH’s eighth studio offering in a winding discography that’s helped shape the very face of epic, Viking-inspired death metal. Named in tribute to Surtur, leader of the fire giants of Muspelheim (“flame land”) and the oldest being in the nine worlds of Norse mythology, the record was recorded, mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studios Örebro, Sweden with Jens Bogren and bears the striking cover art by Tom Thiel.
