There’s only one week left until the eagerly awaited new DORO double album “Forever Warriors, Forever United” is released!
A few days ago, 75.000 enthusiastic fans celebrated DORO after their magnificient jubilee gig at a sold out Wacken Open Air. A few seconds later, still on stage, the festivities continued: DORO was officially inducted into the US HALL OF HEAVY METAL HISTORY and was honoured with the award.
Thus, the metal queen is now in good company alongside the likes of; Ronnie James Dio, Lemmy Kilmister and Judas Priest, who were also honoured in Wacken. “I knew nothing about it, it was a total surprise,” DORO commented on the way back from the stage. “I had tears in my eyes. This is a beautiful prize and it’s a very special honour to now be in the Hall of Heavy Metal History together with such great artists and bands.”

In two weeks‘ time the 29th edition of Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) will start. And live on stage will be Metal Queen Doro Pesch. On July 18th the rock star visited the blood donation head office in the university hospital of her hometown, Düsseldorf. The reason being – this year the university hospital of Düsseldorf (UKD) has become an official partner of Wacken Open Air. Metal fans can now become an official “W:O:A Blood Sponsor” at the UKD.
“It‘s a great campaign! Solidarity and support: That‘s exactly what defines the metal community. And that‘s also what blood donation is about. It saves lives with just a small effort. Each of us could one day depend on blood donation. And the official blood sponsor t-shirts surely contribute to motivating more people to join the campaign – because they can‘t be bought” said Doro Peschduring her visit to the Düsseldorf university hospital.
And that‘s how the “Wacken Blood Donation” works: when somebody donates their blood, they will get a stamp on their personal Wacken Blood Donation card, which will be handed out on request. When it‘s completely full, they‘ll receive a special “Wacken Blood Sponsor-t-shirt”.
Four out of five people in Germany depend on a donation of blood at least once in their life, or on a treatment which depends on a donation of blood. Many surgeries and therapies can‘t be carried out because there are not enough units of stored blood. Around 60.000 blood preparations are needed every year, just for the university hospital in Düsseldorf!
On the 3rd of August, Doro Pesch will stand up on the stage at Wacken Open Air, as one of the artists that are very closely connected to the festival. Since 2009, her song ‘We are the Metalheads’ has been celebrated as one of the official anthems of the festival and this year with her latest single ‘All for Metal’, she has outdone herself!
Shortly after on August 17th, DORO‘s eagerly awaited new album »Forever Warriors, Forever United« will be released.

On Friday, DORO will once again open her treasure trove and release ‘Lift Me Up’, the second single from their highly anticipated new album “Forever Warriors, Forever United” (out on August 17th via Nuclear Blast).
“‘Lift Me Up’ is one of my absolute favorites,” reveals DORO. “This song has a lot of good energy, it builds you up right. I also love the very catchy melody and the lyrics.”
The great anthem ‘All For Metal’ is followed by the next hit, ‘Lift Me Up’,which only boosts the anticipation for DORO’s new killer album!

“Forever Warriors, Forever United” – 100 days to go until the release of DORO‘s highly anticipated new studio album. 100 days of waiting until the metal queen unleashes 25 (!) brand new songs, her first double album ever, upon the music world. But “Forever Warriors, Forever United” isn’t simply just a double album – it’s two new DORO records as one, which will be released as premium 2CD set and vinyl formats on August 17th, 2018 through Nuclear Blast.
On »Forever Warriors«, DORO channels her inner wild warrior, with tracks like ‘Bastardos’ or the first single ‘All For Metal’ (release: June 8th) affirming this. Her duet with AMON AMARTH frontman Johan Hegg ‘If I Can’t Have You…’ is sure to bring any metal head to their knees. This is DORO like you’ve never heard her before!
»Forever United« takes a more sentimental turn, with lyrical topics covering friendship, love and companionship. Highlights include DORO‘s tribute to the late and great Lemmy.
“We’ve been touring a lot during the last years. We collected a lot of impressions and got to meet many amazing people. That inspired me enormously,” explains DORO. “The songs and ideas simply bubble out of me. That process didn’t even end while being in the studio. We had 50 song ideas in the beginning which turned into 14 concrete album tracks. Suddenly we had 20 songs, and in the end it was even 24. I also wanted to record ‘Caruso’ in the last recording week.”
With »Forever Warriors, Forever United«, DORO presents two new records, featuring 19 regular tracks and 6 bonus songs, which include some big surprises!
This unique song writing marathon was based on ‘Living Life To The Fullest’ back in January 2016. Says DORO, “I was flying to Lemmy’s funeral when the track’s melody and lyrics suddenly came to mind. Lemmy was always very important to me. Everything went quickly from this point. As soon as a song was constructed, I headed to the studio – between all those shows and tours – to capture the freshness and live energy of the new tracks.”
The result is 25 songs in the form of two fantastic albums, showcasing all of DORO‘s wonderful and varied facets. »Forever Warriors, Forever United« is another huge chapter added to her long history.
The album cover artwork was once again created by DORO‘s favourite artist, Geoffrey Gillespie. It portrays DORO in the middle of a swarm of wild metal heads exuding attitude, power and positive vibes. “The cover and the title form a perfect unit,”DORO explains, “Just as it should be. It all fits perfectly in line with the songs, which also deal with some political themes.”
DORO continues: “On »Forever Warriors, Forever United«, there will be a lot of big rock heroes. Fans might be curious about the many awesome guest musicians involved. There are some big anthems on both albums, countless heavy songs, as well as heart-warming melodies! The records are supposed to give you power and thus contain a lot of energy.”
The first single ‘All For Metal’ features several metal heroes, who can also be seen in the upcoming music video, which will be released on June 8th. The list of guest stars will be unveiled soon… and DORO is already convinced that “‘All For Metal’ is going to be the new ‘All We Are’!”
Guitarist Doug Aldrich (WHITESNAKE, DIO, DEAD DAISIES) and former WARLOCK guitarist Tommy Bolan, who also contributed to the highly acclaimed album »Triumph And Agony« in 1987, will also be part of the new album.
