UK based metallers DRAGONFORCE were caught up in the recent civil unrest in Baltimore on Monday (27th April) evening as they warmed up ready to hit the stage on the first show of the North American leg of their Maximum Overload World Tour.
The Soundstage in Baltimore where the ‘Force was meant to be playing with US band Kamelot was two blocks away from the rioting, but the violence was getting ever closer.
Guitarist Herman Li said “We thought it was a little weird that all the local shops were closed, in fact the only place open was the venue with a massive queue of fans still trying to get in. As we were warming up ready to go onstage we heard a State of Emergency was declared and the show immediately postponed due to the safety of the fans”
The show has been rescheduled for today, Thursday 30th April with doors opening early at 6pm and the end of the show being 10pm due to the citywide curfew imposed by the authorities for the entire week.
All tickets purchased for the original show are valid.
Multi-national metal maestro’s DRAGONFORCE have announced the worldwide release of their debut DVD entitled ‘In The Line Of Fire’ on July 10th, 2015 on earMUSIC.
Shot in High Definition during the bands Ultimate Stage headline show at 2014’s Loud Park Festival in the Saitama Super Arena, Tokyo, the band used nine camera angles to capture the raw energy of their show and instrumental dexterity for which they are rightly celebrated worldwide.
The track listing below features a mixture of new songs from the latest album ‘Maximum Overload’ mixed in with foot stomping anthems and lightning fast shred-fests from previous releases.

DragonForce are currently on the Maximum Overload World Tour, which commenced in September 2014 and is due to conclude in 2016. Throughout their six studio album and multiple world tour history DF have steadfastly refused to shoot a DVD, until now.
Guitarist Herman Li explains, “We always held the opinion that if we ever did a DVD we wanted to do it properly. Now, having released six studio albums we thought we had a great cross section of material to pick from and we knew the facilities at Loud Park made it a great place to film a show. Everything just came together and we’re very pleased with the results and hope the fans will be also”.

Mega metal powerhouse DRAGONFORCE has announced, via their Official Facebook Page, the next step in the relentless march of the Maximum Overload World Tour: Indonesia! The band will be playing two shows, the first in Jakarta on Friday 13th February followed by Surabaya on Saturday 14th. Actual venues will be announced on Saturday 10th January with tickets on sale on Tuesday 20th January.

We have always received a wonderful welcome there and have a great rapport with the Indonesian audience. Firstly, the album was produced by Jens Bogren in Varberg and Örebro, Sweden in a departure from the previous production team of Herman Li and Sam Totman. The album also features the first ever cover by DF with a ‘DragonForce-ized’ version of the Johnny Cash hit ‘Ring of Fire’. The record also features a guest appearance from Trivium’s Matthew Kiichi Heafy.
