Gothenburg-based alternative metal band DREAM DROP is back with new music. After releasing their third album ACNE SUPERSTAR in late 2023, the band has been working hard on their next project. Now, they’re ready to drop Forgotten, a powerful new single that kicks off an exciting new chapter.

Dream Drop is a band that’s exciting to experience, both live and online. Their explosive stage presence has earned them spots alongside bands like Blood Command, Smash Into Pieces, and STARSET. With a strong online presence and a distinct graphic style, they know how to captivate fans on every platform.

The soundscape in Forgotten is simple and powerful, with a clear “wall of sound” feeling in the choruses. The band has been inspired by 2000s post-hardcore, but has also experimented with samples — in the pre-chorus, for example, you can hear an instrument that sounds like something taken from Middle Eastern folk music.

“The song is an important milestone for us. We’ve held onto it for over a year, refining our sound, and now it feels like we’ve really found our way. It marks the beginning of an upgraded, healthier, and more driven version of Dream Drop. The recording was special because we wanted to capture a more live-sounding feeling, so we tried recording drums and bass together in a long take.” – Dream Drop

December 8th Dream Drop released their album ‘ACNE SUPERSTAR’ including songs like ‘Nudes‘ and ‘Bomb Your Place Of Work.  Now, they’re teaming up with ‘Those Without’ to release their latest track, ‘So What If I…’. However this isn’t the two bands first collaboration; they previously worked together on the hit ‘Rose-Colored Kaleidoscope‘ released last year.

Dream Drop has also been busy in the studio finalizing their 2nd studio album ‘ACNE SUPERSTAR’ set to be released December 8th. Today the band releases the fourth and final chapter before the album release. ‘Nudes‘ is an effortless fusion of compelling melodies and thoughtful lyrics, together marking the band’s distinctive sound.

Recording an album is a complex process, something Dream Drop quickly realized. The band headed to a remote mountain cabin in Norway with a mission to complete their second studio album. When they returned home, they realized that the album had not reached its full potential.

“We had been debating which direction to take and were thinking about exploring different genres even more than on our first record. But then we suddenly realized that the real challenge this time might be to create something that felt more coherent and unified sonically.” – Dream Drop

Therefore, the band decided to scrap half of the album and start from scratch. During a month-long tour filled with new experiences and inspiration, the band found a new creative spark. When the tour came to an end, it only took one week to complete the rest of the album, which will be released to the public on December 8th, 2023.

The album is a tribute to the teenage years and today the band releases the fourth chapter called ‘I Just Want Forever’. In the new single Dream Drop replaces their characteristic uptempo sound with a grand ballad filled to the brim with emotions.

“I Just Want Forever” began as a piano ballad the singer Joar made in the middle of the night a dark autumn evening. It is Joar’s absolute strongest vocal performance ever and it took several months of practice to pull off. The band wrote their new singel feeling on top of the world up in the Norwegian mountains, a feeling that is well reflected in the song.

“Fold Under Pressure is a tribute to Arctic Monkeys that took a very long time to write. The chorus was the absolute last thing to be finished on the entire record because we couldn’t find the right melody. It’s also the song that changed the most from the demo to the studio version” – Dream Drop
