KREATOR: Huge, Signed »Dying Alive« Prints To Be Auctioned Off For Charity

According to Nuclear Blast, German thrash titans KREATOR, Nuclear Blast, Janmedia and animal rights organization PETA Germany have teamed up for charity. Together three huge prints of parts of the stunning artwork (by renowned artis Jan Meininghaus) of the band’s most recent DVD/Blu Ray »Dying Alive« are being auctioned off via eBay.

All three prints are signed by all bandmembers – all proceeds will go directly in favor of PETA Germany.

German thrash metal veterans KREATOR released their new concert DVD/Blu-ray, “Dying Alive”, on August 30 via Nuclear Blast. The set features the band’s sold-out homecoming show in Oberhausen, Germany on December 22, 2012 after an extensive 45-day European tour in support of KREATOR‘s “Phantom Antichrist” album. The packed and sweat-driven show was filmed by 24 cameras, as well as guitar and even mosh-pit cams.

Just a couple of days before the release, Tarja Virmakari had a nice and at times very funny, chat with the guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, he spoke widely about Dying Alive and about the details around it. He told also about the homecoming show where it was shot, and about recent and upcoming tours, festivals and shows where Kreator shared the stage with the band’s long-time friends Destruction, Sodom and Tankard. On Thursday, August 29, KREATOR held a highly successful theatrical premiere at the renowned „Lichtburg“ theatre in the band’s homewtown Essen. The entire band not only made an appearance at the event but also took part in a Q&A and a signing session afterwards. With more than 500 fans attended the screening, »Dying Alive« even outnumbered the official premiere of controversial German movie »Feuchtgebiete« the week before.

KREATOR Celebrate Dying Alive DVD Release With Hometown Theatrical Premiere

According to Nuclear Blast, On Thursday, August 29th, German thrash metal overlords KREATOR held a highly successful theatrical premiere of their Dying Alive DVD at the renowned Lichtburg Theatre in the band’s hometown of Essen, Germany. The entire band attended the event and took part in a Q&A session after the screening followed by an autograph signing.

KREATOR frontman Mille Petrozza reflects on the memorable evening:

“We had a killer night yesterday. Thanks to all the fans, friends, buddies, and relatives for showing up. When I was just a kid watching Conan The Barbarian two days in a row [at the Lichtburg], I would have never dreamt of watching a concert movie of my own band on this big screen. Lichtburg is and will ever be the best theatre. Not only in Germany, but worldwide. I also want to thank the organizers at the Lichtburg for their awesome support of Essen’s metal scene!“

This fall, KREATOR return to North America to co-headline the “Legends Of Thrash” tour with New York thrashers Overkill. Opening each night will be California’s Warbringer. The first of 24 shows takes place on October 30th at the Soundstage in Baltimore, Maryland with KREATOR headlining; Overkill will end the tour with a headlining set at New York City’s Stage 48 on November 24th.

According to Nuclear Blast, the German thrash titans KREATOR have posted a third video trailer for the band’s upcoming DVD/Blu Ray »Dying Alive«.

Furthermore KREATOR have announced an exclusive theatrical premiere for the the DVD at the renowned theater „Lichtburg“ in the band’s hometown Essen, Germany. The premiere will take place on August 29, 2013 starting at 8pm CET.

The event was sold out in less than four weeks which is why the organizers and KREATOR decided to move the premiere to a bigger room at the same cinema to meet the overwhelming demand. Be quick and order your tickets today via http://www.lichtburg-essen.de

KREATOR will tour North America this fall with fellow thrashers OVERKILL.

On November 9, 2012, KREATOR released a new seven-inch single, “Civilization Collapse” (retail version: black; Nuclear Blast mailorder-only version: red, yellow, white) and as a digital download. The single contains the title cut backed by the non-album track “Wolfchild”, which was featured on the “Dark Symphonies – A Tribute To John Sinclair” album, released in September 2012 in Germany via Lübbe-Audio. The band also made a video for the song “Civilization Collapse”, which is said to be “mainly about the riots that took place in Greece most recently.”

“Civilization Collapse” comes off KREATOR‘s new album, “Phantom Antichrist”, which sold 3,900 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at No. 1 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
