Polish/Finnish melodic metallers EXLIBRIS enter 2019 with a new music video for the song “Amorphous”.
EXLIBRIS’ lead singer Riku Turunen comments: «”Amorphous” was one of the songs that I hadn’t heard fully until we actually hit the studio to record lead vocals for the whole album. Once we started tracking, I immediately knew we were onto something. I remember standing in the vocal recording booth after we laid down first takes and wondered to myself that we must do something special with this song. While this is our first actual professionally filmed music video, it stills follows the band’s usual DIY-attitude very closely. It was filmed on a set designed by Daniel Lechmański (Exlibris guitarist) and hand-built by the band members using old TVs, some of them crowd-sourced from fans. Daniel also handled most of the video post-production process himself. In Finland we have a saying: “When you do it by yourself, the result will be as good as you are”. I guess that sums everything up pretty well!»
“Innertia”, Exlibris’ 4th full length album, was released by the band independently on June 29th, 2018.
Polish heavy metallers EXLIBRIS have revealed a lyric video for their brand new single “Harmony Of The Spheres”. It is the first taste of band’s upcoming album and the first track to feature Finnish singer Riku Turunen on lead vocals. Lyric video can be seen below.
Band’s drummer Misiek Ślusarski comments: “Some people were quick to name Krzysiek’s departure as the end of the band but we always knew it was just another obstacle in our way. Since the formation of Exlibris the vast majority of music was written by original members Daniel Lechmański and Piotr Sikora so we never worried about the quality of new material. We did however expect finding a new singer to be some kind of a problem. It turned out in the end, that the best one lives over a thousand kilometers away.”
Piotr Sikora, keyboardist adds: “In addition to Riku being an experienced and very professional singer, we simply hit it off on a personal level. That and not being driven away by our sense of humor is what makes him the person we were looking for for almost a year. The physical distance surely is a challenge but it also opens new exciting possibilities. At the moment we’re preparing to hit the stage for the very first time but right after that we will begin the pre-production of our new album. The new single is just a small taste of what we have in store so it’s definitely something to be excited about!”
Riku Turunen comments joining the band: “I have been super excited to get on stage with Exlibris guys since I first heard their music. The original plan for me was to do only couple of gigs to patch up missing lead singer position for those shows… but then one thing led to another… I have been working on new a single with Exlibris for the past few weeks and when I was asked to join the group, I didn’t have to think twice! I hope… no, I am sure the fans of Exlibris will like how the new group sounds. It is definitely different with my Mickey Mouse vocals on top of killer music material, but just give a listen to the new single and make up your own mind!”

To coincide with the European release of EXLIBRIS’ new album “Aftereal”, another track has been revealed on Metal Mind Productions’ YouTube channel. The track “Closer”, featuring guest appearance by EVERGREY’s guitarist and vocalist Tom Englund, check it out below:
Exlibris, the heavy metal sensation from Poland, return with their third studio album entitled “Aftereal”. The band are sure to surprise their fans this time around, also because of the many outstanding guest musicians featured on the album, Evergrey’s Tom Englund being one of them!
Piotr Sikora comments: “You could say that working on ‘Aftereal’ was a constant test to us. We began by writing the music in record time and, once we did it, we kept checking what else we could accomplish. One of such tests was inviting well known artists from Polish and international music scene to perform on the album. Maybe it’s not something you can hear from the very moment you play the album but Evergrey has been inspiring us, as musicians, ever since we founded Exlibris. We wrote a song which we thought Tom Englund’s voice would fit perfectly, so he was the first person we thought we should invite… and he immediately accepted it! It’s a wonderful feeling to hear your own song performed by a man that’s been your musical hero for literally half of your life.”
In the end, the line-up became quite impressive – apart from Tom Englund, the album also features: Piotr “Dziki” Chancewicz (Wild Pig, Mech), Piotr Rutkowski (Corruption), who played guitar solos, and Michał Staszkun, known from his cooperation with Hate, who recorded the album’s intro. Exlibris’s drummer comments: “We’re extremely satisfied about that lineup, as every single guest performer did his absolute best, and every one of them did it in their own style, making the album even more diversified. I shudder at the thought of who we might be inviting on our next album.”
On January, 13th 2015 the album will be available also in North America (via MVD).
Tracklist:
1. The Continuum
2. Escape Velocity
3. The Day Of Burning

5. Omega Point
6. Before The Storm
7. King Of The Pit
8. Darker Than Black
9. Closer
10. False Messiah
11. The Mental Crusade
12. Suspended Animation
The band was formed in late 2003 by Daniel Lechmański and Piotr Sikora. Their first studio album “Skyward” from 2006 received quite good reviews. Over the next few years, the bands struggled with line-up changes within the rhythm section, but continued to create music and to play occasional concerts. In the meantime, Daniel Lechmański joined Chain Reaction and recorded three albums with them. Also, Piotr Sikora is a member of Leash Eye since 2009. In January 2012 the band started to record their second album – “Humagination”. During the recording time, it turned out that their vocalist Marcin will not be able to complete the recordings. Krzysztof Sokołowski aka Mistress of the Night became their new frontman. As a result, the recordings ended in early 2013. Their new album “Aftereal” is scheduled for release in late Autumn 2014. The title “Aftereal” reflects the album’s atmosphere and lyrics, and there was complete agreement in the band about that choice. The keyboard player Piotr Sikora comments, “Just like it was with ‘Humagination’, there’s a certain leitmotif in the lyrics, which refers to the album’s title. They describe realities other than our own – from nightmares, through some kind of fantasy, to the so-called netherworld.”

Krzysztof Sokołowski – vocals
Daniel Lechmański – guitars, vocals
Piotr Sikora – keys, orchestration, programming, vocals
Polish heavy metal sensation EXLIBRIS will release this Autumn the third studio album entitled “Aftereal”. The official lyric video for track “The Day Of Burning” is now available:
Piotr Sikora comments: “’The Day Of Burning’ was one of the first songs we wrote for the album and at the same time a good example of how ‘Aftereal’ differs from ‘Humagination’. Instead of a typical heavy-metal song we chose to focus on a more complex formula, full of interesting rythmic patterns. One of the solos in this song was performed by Zbigniew Wodecki – a legendary Polish violinist, trumpeter and singer who had never had anything to with metal before but proved that he could easily perform in any style of music.”
In the end, the line-up of guest musicians became quite impressive – apart from Zbigniew Wodecki, the album also features: Tom Englund (Evergrey), Piotr “Dziki” Chancewicz (Wild Pig, Mech), Piotr Rutkowski (Corruption) and Michał Staszkun (Hate). Exlibris’s drummer comments: “We’re extremely satisfied about that lineup, as every single guest performer did his absolute best, and every one of them did it in their own style, making the album even more diversified. The band are sure to surprise their fans this time around, also because of the many outstanding guest musicians featured on the album. While working on “Aftereal”, the band kept coming up with ideas for particular guest appearances. In the end, the line-up became quite impressive: Piotr “Dziki” Chancewicz (Wild Pig, Mech) and Piotr Rutkowski from Corruption played guitar solos. Misiek comments: “It was Dani who thought of Piotrek ‘Rutkoś’ Rutkowski, known from, among other bands, Corruption and Spirit, and that was a bullseye. This incredibly talented young man recorded a beautiful guitar solo – the longest one on ‘Aftereal’. The album’s intro, in turn, was recorded by Michał Staszkun, known from his cooperation with Hate. There’s one more guest performer that will appear on the album. The details regarding that guest appearance, however, are for now shrouded in mystery. We only know he’s a well known artist and that he contributed his vocal talent”. Exlibris’s drummer adds: “We’re extremely satisfied about that lineup, as every single guest performer did his absolute best, and every one of them did it in their own style, making the album even more diversified.
